[The party was reaching that point where even Lady needed to call a time out. Well that and there were just way more people than she really felt comfortable dealing with in the Devil May Cry. Naturally, that just meant it was time to take a break and hide in the slightly quieter back of the shop.

Only problem is the bathroom is already occupied as she finds out quite quickly. With none other than Alastor and she is having a difficult time not staring at him. Or keeping her cheeks from turning bright red.]

Ah...Sorry I was just trying to find a spot not quite so deafening.

*Alastor has switched back to his demon form for his own comfort after making the excuse of needing a bath because someone spilled something sticky on him. Which was technically true, although it's entirely possible it was Alastor's own fault.

When Lady walks into the bathroom, he's already discarded his armor, gloves and shirt, giving her a nice view of his face and his well toned upper body. Unlike her, he doesn't seem at all concerned as he sits on the edge of the filling tub to work at one boot.*

You and me both. Hasn't anyone ever told that guy that louder isn't always better?

[Sorry. What was that? She's still a little stunned by his chest and face. Stunned enough that she's frozen in the doorway her hand still on the knob. Good lord or whatever was up there, demons, men, whatever should not be allowed to be built that nice.

And she should say something shouldn't she? He asked her something. What was it?]

Huh?

*He turns his head to look at the door and raises an eyebrow as he tosses his first boot aside and starts working on the second.*

You gonna close that? Kinda defeats the point of going into a different room if you leave the door standing wide open.

[patricided]

[She blinks at him.]

Right, sorry.

[Quickly she comes the rest of the way in and closes the door behind her. Her hip coming to rest against the sink as she tries very carefully to not seem like a creepy perv that can't help but watch.]

You really think now is a good time to take a bath?

[And look she regained her ability to create complete and coherent sentences.]

Gets me out of having to hang around out there and go deaf.

*He shrugs with half a grin as he tosses his other boot aside. His tail lowers into the water behind him and he can't help a quiet, relaxed sigh.*

Wasn't expecting it to turn into a show, but hey. At least I have someone to prod me if I start to nod off.

And if one of them needs to use the bathroom?

[Okay she needs to stop watching. Like now. And then that red tint that had finally seemed to plateau brightened.]

It wasn't a show.

Then I pull the shower curtain. Or, if I'm lucky, they'll go home and this place gets a little quieter.

*He notices that blush turning brighter. It gets a light chuckle out of him as he stands up to take off his formfitting pants, leaving him in nothing but a pair of thin, purple tinted briefs.*

And you can't tell me you weren't watching.

[patricided]

[She just raises an eyebrow at him. If the party wraps before the wee hours of the morning she'll be very impressed. She might actually faint from sheer shock.

She doesn't however get to ponder that very long as him standing signals she make a pointed effort to keep her eyes to herself and trained on a spot on the wall.]

I'm not.

[She is even now out of the corners of her vision.]

Riiiiiight.

*He snorts, but decides to make things a little easier on her. Well, maybe. He turns his back on her before stripping off his final piece of clothing.*

Then what was with the staring before?

I'm not.

[The tone of her voice is just this side of petulant. You could almost expect to hear a foot stamp follow it up. There isn't thankfully, that would be very immature of her.

Still that doesn't cover the way she sighs when he turns, can't hide the fact that it is clearly a sigh of relief. Although he can probably feel the weight of her gaze on his back in the ensuing silence. Enough to hear her push off the sink and the rustle of fabric. Hand hovering over center of his back. She really shouldn't touch, no matter how curious she is.]

I wasn't expecting to find you in here.

*He can hear her moving and feel her standing behind him, but he doesn't bother to move. Instead he just dips his tail back in the water, then adjusts the faucet slightly with the same limb.*

And the tied tongue?

[Clearly she was losing touch with her sanity, as she lightly ran her fingers over his spine. Just to satisfy her curiosity of what the skin there felt like.]

Hm? It was nothing.

*It was leathery, but soft. Obviously thicker than normal skin without being dry or hard. A light shiver runs down his back at the touch, the rest of him going perfectly still. Do you have to remind him how much he misses physical intimacy?*

And that?

[patricided]

[Her hand stops, pads of her fingers still resting gently against his spine. And then they're gone almost too quick. Which was too bad she; didn't find the feel anywhere near as appalling as she would have originally thought.]

Satisfying curiosity?

*His tail slowly sweeps to the other side of his legs, careful not to hit Lady, to dip back into the water.*

Means you were...looking, though.

[patricided]

[She snorts and rolls her eyes, not that he can see.]

You have an interesting back. Now take your bath.

Should I take that as a complement?

*Don't mind him sounding a bit distracted. Stupid nostalgia for things he doesn't know where to find. And better watch it, Lady. Lowering himself into the tub means he no longer has his back to you.*

If you want.

[No worries. She's already worked that out. She'll set herself up with her back to the tub and all will be well.[

*He leans back with a quiet click as his horns bump against the wall.*

I think that's the first time someone's touched my bare skin in a few thousand years, if you don't count the one time someone was taking care of me while I was weakened.

[patricided]

[She shrugs, not sure how to respond to that.]

Is that good or bad?

Not sure. It's...nostalgic, but I don't want to start missing something I can't have. Not easy finding someone who's willing to get that close to a demon, you know?

[She sighs, letting her head fall back to look at the ceiling.]

Not every human reacts like I do.

True. Most are more likely to react with fear than anger. Everyone knows demons are willing to consider people food. Not many know that the so-called forces of nature ancient cultures used to call gods were actually devils who thought it was best to form symbiotic relationships with human civilizations. They'll think of the vicious man eaters or sadistic tricksters before the civilized benefactors.
