Body Heat
THE BODY HEAT MEME

Post with your character! They're now stuck in a very cold place of your choice. It can be anything, such as a freezing chamber, a cavern or a small cabin in the midst of a blizzard. The choice is up to you.
Comment around! Now your character has some company in this bone-chilling environment. The two of them share two things in common: clothes completely unfitting for this weather (be they summer clothes or even lingerie) and a blanket.
A blanket? Yes, just one warm blanket and no other ways to escape the cold. The two of them will have to share it in order to stay alive in this weather. Don't worry, you're sure to find a common language in this terrible situation!
So, uh, have fun, I suppose. Try to not freeze to death!
Protip: friction and body heat are both excellent ways to fend off cold.

[ Jade is sort of walking in place, arms crossed and shoulders hunched. She's just about had it with freak snowstorms in the city - warning would be nice, is all she's saying. The shelter they ducked into seems to have once been some sort of storefront, now completely emptied out, save for some chairs with flattened cushions and a tablecloth folded on the counter.
She frowns at the door. ]
If we burned the building down, how long do you think we'd be comfortable before succumbing to agonizing pain?
no subject
[His hands were tucked into his armpits, fingers prickling with cold as he tried to pretend he was on a beach in Malibu.]
Pretty sure the pain would last for long enough that burning down our only bit of shelter wouldn't be worth it. We need to look for something... like a blanket. Or a table cloth. Or something we can wrap around us to trap our body heat.
no subject
[ Okay, so she'd spotted it the moment they'd retreated in there, but the words are spoken with a little wince. She didn't want to have to use the tablecloth - it was dusty, wrinkled, and she really, really didn't want to find out if it was moldy or not. Except they might not have a choice: it might actually be life or death. ]
Hnng. Find a place to sit, okay? I'll try to - tuck it around us, I guess.
no subject
Try, huh? We'll just have to find a good position to sit in.
no subject
Really hope you're not allergic to dogs.
[ She wiggles one fluffy white ear, waiting for him to sit in the corner. ]
no subject
[He goes over to the corner, hunching down and waiting for her, skin prickled with goosebumps.]
no subject
[ Jade unfolds the table cloth, draping an edge of it on top of his lap, before sort of tucking it around his leg. She ducks to the other side of it then, trying to fold it back against herself as she butts up against his side. ]
I'm never eating another popsicle.

[His arm is lifted, waiting for her to settle in against his side -- which he assumes she's going to do because warmth. Warmth is good.]
You say that now. Wait until it's over a hundred degrees out.
no subject
[ She does settle against his side, but just being held under his arm like that seems like an unfairly one-way street as far as heat is concerned. She twists to face him a little more, wrapping her arm around his midsection. ]
How're your fingers and toes?
no subject
Sorry, no Tauntauns or any other large mammals we can live inside. Just me. I don't think you'll fit in me, either.
[They're curled up close together, but it's still chilly, their body heat not having had enough time to build up yet.]
Still attached. Yours?
no subject
[ She wrinkles her stiff nose a little bit, before finally giving up and resting her cheek against his shoulder. ]
If you can't thaw me when this is over, you'll write a really nice eulogy for me, right? Even pretend to cry a little bit? [ None of these theatrics are even slightly authentic. She's just cold and a little whiny and unwilling to sit here in silence - it's too easy to focus on it that way. ]
no subject
[He tips his head to rest it on top of hers, blowing at the tip of one furry ear.]
I'll shed a single manly tear and regale everyone with all your antics.

oh hello.
And yet despite their circumstances, she appeared energized. As if she drew strength of character from the weather outside. Indeed, although there was a fur-lined blanket by a dead fire, Sansa hurried instead to the window. Her chilled hands drew back a flimsy curtain so she might keep watch over the whirling darkening landscape. Snow snow snow, ever-falling. It was enchanting.
She said little. She said nothing. She feared the way her teeth would chatter.
GASP
Nope, of course not. That would be way too easy. Grumbling to himself, he went and picked up the blanket, the fur tickling at his fingers as he went over to where she was at the window and moved to drape it over her shoulders. "Here. You need to keep warm." Looking out the window, his face turned grim. "Sure would have been nice if they'd mentioned that this might happen."
could not resiiiist.
She would start out selfish. Unwilling to share. And if she watched the window and did not watch him, perhaps she could pretend he was not as cold as she was. "I've heard tales about higher winds and deeper drifts than these."
Never resist =)
He was more grumbling to himself than her, irritated at this place in general. And this cabin in particular. Was one blanket all the owner had? Well thanks for that, cheap owner.
no subject
Sansa dared to peek at him. He was indeed without a coat. Her heart clenched.
no subject
If he were warm and inside or bundled up against the cold, maybe he could appreciate the snow more. He probably would love it at any other time, but when he was dressed in summer clothes, his admiration took a backseat to survival.
no subject
"What is it you're doing, Stiles?" Sansa asked -- setting aside thoughts of sugarplums and Christmas carols, despite the fact that Stiles and snow together always puts her in mind of all he's taught her.
no subject
The bed was a flat pallet, the blanket the only thing that would drape over it. The cabin was completely devoid of anything else that someone might use to keep warm.
no subject
It was a judicious guess -- but ultimately just that: a guess. Perhaps the house had been long abandoned for other reasons. The whys and wherefores mattered much less than the present reality. They were cold -- he was cold -- and she had wrapped around her the one saving grace. Sansa shrugged it off one shoulder.
"We must share it."
She meant, of course, that they would each take their turn. An hour apiece, perhaps.

"I would not mind--" sharing. "But if I could keep it a little longer--!"
She was kind. But she was not that kind.
