THE AMUSEMENT PARK MEME


Everyone likes having fun right? What's more fun than going to an amusement park? Going to it with your friends, family, new acquaintances or even enemies! The possibilities are endless!

3. Have fun!

Full park! The place is packed and you can barely step two feet without bumping into someone. Can you find your friend in the crowds? Did you lose them? Long lines getting you down? Maybe this wasn't as fun as you thought it would be.

Slow day. Well lucky you! No long lines or waiting hours, the park is yours to have all the fun you want! Ride that roller coaster ten times in a row if you want, just don't lose your lunch on the ride!

Abandoned. You've found an amusement park that was shut down and abandoned years ago. For some reason there still seems to be power, but not all the rides work, or if they do they may not work right. Lights blink and flicker and die, songs that once sounded cheerful and joyful now drone and fade eerily from speakers that are clogged with dust and rusted by rain and not being kept up. Who knows, this place may even be haunted!

What's your theme? Not in it just for amusement? How about a theme park? Get out your bathing suit it's a water park! Or maybe one based off the dinosaurs? Or maybe you want to shoot up into outer space? Or knights in shining armor are more you deal? Whatever it may be, you're now in a theme park all of your choosing!

Or just do whatever you want! These are only a few ideas to get you started, but the sky is the limit, just have fun!

[The question isn't entirely mocking - there's a note of genuine curiosity there as Natasha looks up at her Asgardian companion. The park is crowded, but thankfully most people seem to be giving them (mostly him) a wide berth; they probably don't want to get trampled.]

I come bearing victuals.

[ Sure enough, Peter is juggling different kinds of food stuffs in his arms – two cups of what’s surely alcohol, two boxes of something that looks suspiciously like green popcorn; a bag of various alien fruits; and are those really hot dogs? – and despite the hassle, he’s grinning. He can’t remember the last time he’s been to a fair, and it’s silly, but he can’t help but be a little excited.

He still has no idea how he managed to convince Gamora to come along with him, given that his method of persuasion had been half-assed at best, and consisted of spouting some BS about team-bonding (the other Guardians had vehemently turned his invitations down) and the need to relax after a job well done (the job had been successful, but very close to a disaster). Still, whatever reasons Gamora had for indulging him, Peter was determined to make her have some fun. ]

… I’m gonna be honest, I dunno what most of this stuff is, but they smelled good. And they had those avocado-lookin’ things that you like, so that’s something, right?

Jade wasn't here to enjoy the rides. Sure, she stopped by the booths, but only when she needed a break. She was taking photos of the park: nice views of the rides that would go into pamphlets, brochures and whatever advertisements the park owners made. It was a shame she couldn't join the lines, but being a freelance photographer doesn't let you be too choosy on what jobs you get.

At the moment, she notices a little girl carrying a stuffed mascot toy and eating a giant wad of cotton candy. What better image for the park than a kid having the time of their life? Jade takes a photo of the crowd with the girl as the focus: good, but a close-up would work better. She walks up to the girl and squats down to meet her at eye-level.

"Hey, it's alright if I take a picture of you?"
