The Abrupt Kissing Meme

Plain and simple: your character is being kissed. Abruptly. How did this happen? Were they talking too much to the point where it was the only way to shut them up? Was someone bidding adieu or just not able to hold in their feelings? Or was this some CPR class gone bad? More importantly—how do they react?
How this works:
→ Leave a comment with the usual information in the subject line: character name, fandom. Any preferences, including what you don't want, should be included as well. Congratulations, your character is being kissed by whoever tags them!
→ Tag around.
→ Feel free to roll RNG (1-9) if you cannot come up with scenarios of your own.
→ Have fun, and be excellent to each other!

- 1 — Simply put: I like you. (You may or may not know this already.)
- 2 — I did it to shut you up. (It worked, didn't it?)
- 3 — I've always been curious... (About what it'd be like to kiss you.)
- 4 — It was an accident! (I totally tripped!)
- 5 — Farewell. (I may never see you again and...!)
- 6 — Taunting. (Bet you didn't see that attack coming didja?)
- 7 — CPR (You were asleep and you suddenly woke up..?)
- 8 — No more waiting! (Ain't nobody got time for that.)
- 9 — Fuck da police. (In other words, the random/whatever option.)

Once upon a time his friend's status might have gotten to him, made him feel a little bit unworthy, but it had been so long by now and he had visited enough, gotten to know the effects of that status to know that there wasn't anything to feel bad about. It simply was what it was.
Which was exactly why he could welcome himself in and go right to Wolfram's room, the first logical place to check. Otherwise he'd end up scouring the whole place, but if they had to play phone tag, then they would. For now, he just knocked on the bedroom door.]
Wolfram?
[He couldn't exactly keep the concern out of his voice, so sue him.]
wow I'm so sorry for this
Finally, you're here. You work too much.
[Says the boy who works not at all. Not that he hadn't tried at one point, as it meant being a bit more independent, but it hadn't gone so well. He didn't take orders well, he was more prone to giving them. So he'd been fired. And that had been the end of that. Maybe one day he'd try again, when he was less angry with the world in general.
Which it's quite evident today that he still is, as after opening the door he stomps back over to his bed to continue shoving things inside the bag. If Terra had gotten a good look at his face, he probably would have noticed it had been slightly flushed from anger, and his eyes were just slightly wet, as if on the verge of shedding tears that he refuses to let them shed.]
I'm leaving. I'm staying with you. Or if you don't want me, I'll find someplace else to go, I don't care. I'm just tired of jumping countries every time Mother wants to try something new. She claims to care about me, wants to keep me safe and coddles me whenever she gets the chance, and yet she does this! Always! Constantly. And it's not even just moving towns, at least then maybe I'd be able to actually keep a friend for a few damn years! No, she has to move us to a different country! [He picks up one of the books laying open on his bed and throws it across the room. Nowhere near Terra, though. He just hopes the sound it made hitting the wall was loud enough for his mother to hear.] Well, she can go on her own this time!! It's no wonder everyone left us, they were TIRED OF HER!!
[It's mean and untrue, it's not his mother's fault that Wolfram was the only one of their family who had stuck around. But he's angry and upset, and feels like doing as much damage as he can. The place is so large though, it's highly unlikely she'd even be able to hear him. If she was even there.]
wow wolfram is just breaking his heart right now
Usually he would be fine with letting his friend say whatever the hell he needed to. He never meant any of it, he wasn't cruel on purpose, but the explosion of feelings was about the only way he seemed to know how to cope and, really, Terra wasn't equipped to teach him differently. It was exactly why the back and forth nature didn't get to him. He knew Wolfram threw little fits, but he'd also never said anything to Terra that cut deeply enough, either. While he wasn't going to defend Wolfram's mother - Terra took a rather large issue with the fact that he never saw her around, that she'd never asked to meet him, as far as he knew, but it wasn't his place to say these things. - the love Wolfram had for her was pretty much boundless. Weird as it sounded, there was no way that he would lose his ever loving mind like this if he didn't feel anything for her at all.]
Wolfram.
[Terra had never spoken with so much force, quiet but insisting. Yelling and throwing a fit wasn't going to fix anything, he could say and do whatever he wanted but this was all indicative of a much bigger problem. Unable to stand off to the side without doing anything Terra stood right next to him but picked up the bag and tossed it off to one side, holding Wolfram's arm firmly, as if he might upset himself to the point of collapsing.]
You haven't gone anywhere, alright? You're still here. I'm still here. Take a deep breathe, okay?
[He sounded so much more controlled then he felt. He hated seeing Wolfram like this, hated it because he couldn't really do anything to fix it. The best he could do was to remain constant and hope it had some kind of effect on his live wire best friend, but there was always the lingering sense that it wasn't enough, especially when he was like this.]
/throws wolfram angst at you from every direction?? THIS WAS NOT MY INTENTION
He feels weak. Not just emotionally, but physically as well. And it's a good thing Terra has a hold on his arm, or he may very well have collapsed. As it is, he sinks a little, partially onto the bed, using his free arm to cover his face, to hide the wet trail of tears making their way down his cheeks. His voice is small when he speaks, slightly broken. He's just gone from one extreme to another.]
Why does she do this? She doesn't even care how I feel about it... She didn't even tell me... I saw... She has plane tickets to France, two of them, and they're one-way... She didn't even tell me... I'm... I can't do this again... I don't want to go...
/well now there's terra angst we have lost control
You're not going anywhere.
[He didn't know where the strength in his voice came from, but he did know why he was suddenly pulling Wolfram up and closer, into his arms like guiding a worn out ragdoll. He tried to be careful with the amount of affection he let out, but there wasn't any avoiding it. There was a name to the place, he was realizing exactly how far away Wolfram would be, virtually untouchable, because Terra could never save up enough to visit. No wonder he'd been freaking out, Terra was suddenly on the verge of it, too.]
You can't.
[He managed to control his grip by holding Wolfram's shoulders, his forehead pressed against that familiar blond hair. No matter what state Terra was in, he could never hurt his friend, it would be worse than death, but he was still near shaking, no idea what to do with the sudden ball of emotions in his chest. There would be no more ridiculous phone calls, no one to huff and puff at him, no one to force Terra on spontaneous trips, to get McDonald's with at three in the morning on weekends, he would be gone and completely irreplaceable - ] You can't leave me.
[It wasn't planned, and Terra had some experience but he'd never kissed someone while feeling so emotional. If anything it was probably the most benign kiss in the world, just a very firm press of lips, and by now he was gripping Wolfram just a little, not enough to hurt, but more like he couldn't allow any bit of space between them, or they both might drift off as a result.]

While that contact hadn't been entirely unexpected, his words are. Mostly the emotion and strength behind them, though. He had no idea he'd meant that much to Terra. (Despite the fact that, really, he'd shown again and again that he did mean that much to him.)
For Wolfram, Terra was the only friend he had... The only person who was there for him whenever he needed him, and gave him space when he needed that. The only one who put up with Wolfram's volatile nature and even managed to subdue it at times, simply by being patient with him. Not giving up on him. It's the only relationship Wolfram's ever had that he's actually felt worked. And this move would take that all away from him. Just like that.
And he feels like he should mention that. That Terra's the reason he doesn't want to go, the reason he can't. Because while he's sick of moving around so much, it wouldn't have been as big of a deal if he hadn't had a reason to want to stay here. But before he can even open his mouth to say this, he's being kissed. And that's... more unexpected than the words had been. But it's gentle, and comforting, as is Terra's grip on him, because it feels solid and safe. Immovable.
He's turning a bit red though, because it's still a surprise and he's not even really sure what to do. So he just... acts on impulse. Because why not? He does everything else on impulse, why should this be any different? He kisses back: a gentle, slightly hesitant press of his own lips, as he finally moves his arms in order to bring his hands up to Terra's sides, fingers curling around the fabric of his shirt. And his eyes are closed now, and the tears have stopped, but his face is still damp from those that had come previously.]

He had made enough terrible mistakes in life to realize that impulsiveness, especially on his part, was generally a bad idea. But this had to be an exception because Wolfram was kissing back and there wasn't a single word in any language that good describe exactly how amazing that felt. Terra's grip relaxed somewhat, moving slightly so that his arms wrapped around Wolfram rather than just gripping him desperately.
It went on for longer than he meant to allow, Terra had to force himself to pull away, breathing off and eyes half-lidded.]
I - [Words. What were words?] I'm not - Are you? [... He wasn't very good with words, sometimes.]
no subject
His own mind had been pretty much blank, up until the point Terra pulls away, which results in a small noise of disapproval and frustration coming from Wolfram. And then Terra's looking at him instead of kissing him, and his face reddens further, his eyes momentarily going wide before he averts his gaze down to his shoes. But he doesn't let go of the other's shirt, his fingers still gripping the fabric tightly.
He's silent for a moment, even after Terra's sort of asked him a question. Though he's not sure what that question meant. "Are you?" Is he what? Okay? Yep, dandy. Mostly. Except for that whole having to leave Terra to live on an entirely different continent thing. Still not so hot on that idea. Even less so, now, actually. But then he'd also said "I'm not" in front of that question, and he hopes that didn't mean that Terra wasn't okay. So maybe he was asking a different question entirely...
But, really, screw the damn question, whatever Terra had been trying to ask.]
I don't want to leave you.
[It's whispered, but as close as they are, it would easily be heard. And honestly Terra had probably already figured that out anyway, what with the kissing. And the fact that Wolfram still refuses to let go of him.]
no subject
Okay.
[There was a lot in that one word, it didn't feel at all simple when it left his mouth. Though his brain was obviously lagging a bit he had meant what he said before. Terra stayed out of family business, someone who hardly had anyone to speak for him just didn't have that right, but this was too much. He had never seen Wolfram so depressed and there couldn't be a good enough reason in the world to take him from his happiness.
Terra lifted one hand to idly wipe at those tear tracks, he had to resist the stupid desire to kiss each cheek like they were wounds, as if everything could be cured that way.] If you don't want to, then you don't have to.
[For Wolfram, who had been pulled left, right, up, and down by his mother, it probably didn't seem that easy. Moving probably felt inevitable, but he was grown, he didn't have to go along with everything so simply.] You need to talk to your mother, first. And I mean seriously.
[It would probably be a bit difficult, but overreacting wouldn't help him any, and it went without saying that Terra would be there if Wolfram just asked.] If talking doesn't work, then you can stay with me.
[Logically speaking that was a terrible decision for a lot of reasons that had nothing to do with emotion. For one thing, Terra lived alone in a small apartment that was just enough for himself. Wolfram's room alone likely outdid it in spades. He worked full-time, got home late sometimes ... Would he really be able to stand it? And what exactly would his brothers say once they realized Wolfram hadn't followed his mother? Terra couldn't imagine that it would be anything positive especially considering their slight age difference, but it seemed neither of them could handle being separated. Hell, Terra hadn't let go of him in the last few minutes, how was he supposed to handle being separated by whole continents?]

He leans forward in order to press his forehead against Terra's shoulder. His smile fades a little then. He knows he needs to talk to his mother, but he's still upset with her, especially for not even bothering to tell him that she was planning on moving again. The tickets had been dated for a month out. That didn't seem like enough time. It wouldn't be the first instance of them moving on such short notice, though. But she knew he had a friend here. He'd really thought, if they really had to move, she would at least given him more time to say goodbye. It wasn't fair. None of it was.]
Maybe she'll just let me keep the house.
[It sounds a bit ridiculous, but he really didn't see why it couldn't be an option. He hadn't noticed her showing it to anyone in order to rent it out, like she had with their previous homes. That's a little odd, if he really thinks about it.
He doesn't get a lot of time to though, because he's realizing now that Terra had just seriously offered to let Wolfram live with him. And that brings the smile back to his face, though he hides it against Terra's shoulder.
It's not as if he doesn't know where and how Terra lives. He's been there before, even if each visit had been brief. Mostly just for Terra to grab something on their way out, things like that. Still, he'd seen it. It wasn't much to write home about, especially by Wolfram's standards. But the fact that, even with both of them knowing that it would be hard to work with, Terra was still offering, meant a lot.
He pulls away from his shoulder in order to look up at him, then leans in to kiss him again without hesitation. It's a thank you, a silent one, because heaven and hell both know he's not good at the verbal kind.]

As for Toki, he's pretty much an average high school student that ends up wanting to help both the demons and the humans. He's cheerful, friendly, and kind of a wimp but throws himself into stuff anyway because he doesn't think too much about it. He's also kind of a goof, aheh.
Because getting pulled into other worlds is totally canon for him, a modern AU wouldn't be necessary, but there's definitely the option of modern day Japan as well. I think it could be pretty interesting without a AU twist, though! )
