On a long enough timeline, the survival rate for everyone drops to zero.

HOW TO PLAY.

•Dying is 99% probable! How long can you survive?

•Everyone has to tag someone else! Thought you could leave a placeholder and wait for someone to tag you? Think again! This is to encourage people to tag outside their comfort zone; tag the first person you see or close your eyes and just point at the screen! Groups should be 4-5 people big, but you can do a 2-man tag team or really large assembly of people! Once the group is big enough, you're welcome to leave an empty tag so another group can be built.

•The meme is way more awesome when characters actually die. Getting tired of being in a thread? Murder your character. Thread abandoned? Everybody died, whoops! Groups who finish their threads win the best thing of all: CR with new people and new characters. And also they live.

•All characters are depowered and have no weapons on them. That isn't to say you can't find weapons, but be reasonable.

•Pick a scenario and good luck!

SCENARIOS.

•I'll huff, and I'll puff, and I'll bite your head off. You don't remember coming out here, but you've all got tents on an awesome piece of land to camp on. Everything's normal, you think, but wait, what's that rustling out in the woods?

•Casper the blood-thirsty ghost. For some reason, you're in this large school. At night. And nobody is around except you and your pals. On a dare you don't remember making, you've come here to investigate if the hauntings are true or not.

•4// Itchy. Tasty. Your cousin invited you to come stay at his cabin in the woods for the weekend with your friends. Which is weird, because you either don't have a cousin, friends, or a combination of both. Also, it's built over a burial ground.

•One, two, he's coming for you. Man, look at this awesome, abandoned mansion you've come across! Wait, what're you doing out here in the middle of nowhere, anyway? Oh well, looks like a cool place to explore. Wait, what'd you say about killers with nightmarish weapons being seen around here?

•Merman special. COME UP WITH SOMETHING!

Dana doesn't have any recollection of why they decided this was a good idea. She doesn't know why in the world they broke into a school building. Do any of them even go here? She isn't even of high school age anymore.

She'll just go with it.*

[Claire still looks like she's in high school? Sure, that works. Oh hey, check it out, she almost fills in a stereotype, too! Just, 20% ~~cooler~~ less ditzy. And not so whorish.

She looks around at the others.]

[Say hello to your obligatory techie in this scenario. She sure is bringing a lot of gizmos with her. But ghost hunting requires gizmos, right? Right.

Adjusting her shoulder-bag, she hoists up her laptop, walking while looking at it. There's a full layout plan of the building on the screen. (Not something genuinely available to the public, but firewalls and encryptions are nothing to Claudia.)] So... where should we start? I hear ghosts are sometimes fond of libraries... Or possibly the girl's locker room - that wouldn't really surprise me, either.

*Dana pulls a face at that last.* All we need is a creepy ghost who's a creeper, too.

My vote is library.

[She snorts at Dana's remark and tries to hide it behind a cough. This is serious business.]

Library sounds fine to me. Not that the books will be of any help against a specter...unless we find something helpful inside?

As long as you don't get the sudden urge to take a shower, I think you're probably safe, at least from being creeped on. [Not a whole lot is serious business when Claudia's involved.] Library it is. At the least, it should help us get to know more about the school, right? Maybe we can even identify our Casper.

Alright, got your flashlights, girls? We're moving in. [She's not really sure how she became the "leader", but it probably has something to do with the fact that she seems to be the most determined about this. Because field work is fun. And ghosts are cool.]

*Folding her arms at that. Hey, it's her job to be that way sometimes. Or something.

But then getting her flashlight out.*

Somehow, I doubt that anyone has left helpfully informative literature behind, but there could be something, yes.

Let's just hope it's not a Poltergeist who will throw the books at us.

[Claire clicks hers on and follows, throwing back glances every five steps or so. She's not too terribly scared, yet, because she still thinks she can heal.]

Anything helpful in that bag of yours, Claudia?

Yeah, here's hoping. I'm not so great at dodging airborne objects headed at me.

[She looks back at Claire when she asks the question.] Huh? Oh, right. Duh. [Placing her flashlight under her chin, she holds it there as she digs through her bag, eventually pulling out a... pretty nondescript device, which she hooks up to her laptop. But uh, she didn't think this through, because she doesn't seem to have enough hands to hold laptop, device, and flashlight, while walking at the same time.]

...Crap. I'm gonna drop something. And it's gonna break. And I'm really hoping it's the inexpensive flashlight. ...Help?

*Dana steps up quickly, reaching to steady the laptop.* Good now? Or better?

*Then:* I think we'd have heard if it was poltergeisty? Maybe?

[Claire, in turn, grabs for the flashlight, now clasping two.]

Maybe.

[She surreptitiously looks over the Claudia's shoulder and then her own, taking deep breaths to keep the beams of light steady. Her nerves are starting to work at her, the school too dark and too quiet.]

We should have brought more people. Ghostbusters had more people, why didn't we take a page from their book? And what's that thing do anyway?

Phew, thanks. [She adjusts the laptop in her arms and picks up the device. After a few keystrokes, she holds the doohickey (technical term) out in front of her, and the layout on the screen changes colors - to multi-colors, actually.] ...I don't know, because we wanted a challenge? And, basically, it's reading the temperature. You know - hot spots, cold spots, all that jazz-- oh. Pickles.

[She stops walking, and glances first at Dana then at Claire.] I, uhm. Don't kill me. But I just lost my signal. [The laptop screen shows an error message, the school's floor plan no longer available. They are officially flying blind.]

There are so many ways that we aren't the Ghostbusters, we can just... figure it out our own way, right?

*She peers at Claudia's device, nodding along to the explanation. Then. Oh, oh no.*

We'll be okay, right? I mean, we can manage without it.

[Claire stops walking at hearing the plea from Claudia, knowing whatever comes out of her mouth can't be good. And at learning the map is now lost, she just sighs.]

Well, it's not like any of us haven't been to a school before, so it can't be that horribly complicated. My old library was in the middle, so...I say we go left? Seems middlish that way.

[And if they need an extra incentive, there's a bang from down the hallway, like a door opening or a desk being tipped over. She raises both brows at the other girls.]

[Claudia's eyes widen at the sudden sound, and she closes her laptop in order to hug it to her chest. And scrambles to get her flashlight back from Claire.] Uh. Yep. Left. Sounds good to me. Dana?

[She could probably find something in her bag that she could use without a Wi-Fi signal, but. That would require standing around while she looks. And she'd rather not be a sitting duck like that, kthx. But she'll wait for Dana's input before just skedaddling.]

*Nods, nods. That noise startles her more than she cares to admit.*

Left sounds really good right now, yes.

*And she's inching in that direction.*

[Claire awkwardly walks half-sideways and half-backwards, keeping her light sweeping from left to right at equal intervals.] I'll watch the back.

Have either of you done this before?

[Flashing her light into every little nook and cranny as she moves forward slowly, cautiously.] What, ghost hunting? Not so much. I do deal with weird, freaky stuff for work all the time, though.

*She pulls a face, shining her own flashlight for extra helping power.*

Honestly? I've never even thought about it before.

[She gives a dry laugh and flatly says:] Yay, for first times?

[When another unwelcome noise goes off, this time indecipherable whispers, Claire accidentally bumps back into the girls as she scrambles to stay close. In a strained whisper of her own, she asks:] Please tell me you guys heard that?

[Embarrassingly enough, Claudia yelps when Claire bumps into her, dropping her flashlight with a loud clatter, and both sounds echo down the hallway.] Uhm, yep. I did. Which way was it coming from? [She carefully kneels down to pick her flashlight back up - thankfully it hadn't rolled away from her.] ...Maybe I scared it off? [She hopes.]

*Dana just nods, holding tighter to her flashlight just in case.*

It's, it's not going away. It's still -- I mean, I still hear... faintly, from that way?

*She jerks her head in the relevant direction, eyes wide.*

[With a wince, she murmurs "sorry" to Claudia.

She looks in the same direction Dana speaks of and agrees.] Yeah. Unfortunately...soooooo library ho or, um..... Follow the freaky voices?

Well... As much as I want to go with option C: none of the above, the fact is we did come here looking for ghosts, so... Guess I'll have to go with... B: follow the freaky voices. [She takes a deep breath, then nods.] Final answer. [And looks to the other girls.]

Freaky voices. It may be creepy, but, it's kind of our goal. Theoretically.

*She takes a tentative step in the direction.*
