THE RANDOM SCENARIO MEME 3.0

- Post your character, name, and series in the subject. Include any preferences as well.
- Go to RNG and enter 1-7 for a scene type, and 1-20 for a scene to play out.

TYPE OF SCENE.
① Action → Gun fights, bar brawls, fights to the death are all possible scenarios.
② Angst → Characters suffer emotionally or physically from relationships breaking up, death, injury, etc. Hurt and comfort themes are included.
③ Crack → Genderswaps, super powers, sudden compulsions are all possible outcomes.
④ Fluff → Something that is devoid of angst. It's light-hearted and might have the overtone of romance.
⑤ Gen → General fun, things that didn't fit in the other categories.
⑥ Sex → First times, kinks, even dubcon are all possible themes of sex related scenarios.
⑦ Your choice → Think of your own scenario, choose one of the above or make a combo even!

ACTION.
① Zombies → It's the zombie apocalypse, lock and load!
② Bar brawl → You had one too many drinks, said something wrong, and now you're being asked to take it outside.
③ Chase → You're caught in a high speed chase.
④ Gun fight → You're caught in a big shoot-out.
⑤ Fight with a friend → You're fighting with a friend, all out.
⑥ Interrogation → You're being interrogated for some offense you've done.
⑦ Aliens → Aliens are attacking and you're not going to take your probe laying down!
⑧ Final battle → This is it. The battle that will end all the fighting for you. Will you win? Will you get that peace you want?
⑨ Training → You're not actually fighting, just training for the inevitable.
⑩ No hope → You know this fight has no hope. It's not going to end well for anyone involved, but you can't turn away.
⑪ Sneaking in → You're stealing a diamond or sneaking in to kick some bad guy butt, but whatever it is, you have to practice stealth.
⑫ Blue wire → You're faced with a bomb that needs to be disarmed.
⑬ Fight for honor → You've been disgraced or someone you care about has, so it's time to fight for honour.
⑭ Showdown → Time for a cowboy-style showdown. Whoever draws the fastest wins.
⑮ War → You're caught in the middle of a war here. Remember to keep your chin up and keeping fighting.
⑯ Apocalypse → The apocalypse finally happened and now you're left to scavenge and fight for whatever is left.
⑰ Sabotage → It's time to sabotage someone's plan! How is entirely up to you. Do you set up a bomb in their toilet? Do you double cross them at the last minute?
⑱ Big damn hero → You know you have to handle this one alone, so that means disarming or knocking unconscious the person who wants to join you.
⑲ Fight club → You know the rules... you're in an underground fighting ring and you're fighting with all you've got.
⑳ Threaten → You've just been sent here to rough them up a little, threaten them into behaving.

ANGST.
① Injury / illness → Your character has become injured or ill! To what extent is the mun's choice.
② Last moments → You character has been gravely injured and this is their last chance to say their last words.
③ Depression → Your character is depressed, what actions they take is up to the mun.
④ Betrayed → You character has been betrayed by the other. How do they react?
⑤ Tortured → Your character is being tortured and needs rescuing or at least a sympathetic ear to help him through it.
⑥ Jealousy → Your character is feeling jealous and must deal with it, how will they do it?
⑦ Breakup! → This relationship has gone as far as it can, it's time to breakup.
⑧ Broken → For whatever reason, the character is broken, mentally or or physically.

⑩ Lost → You lost the biggest fight of your life and now all you can do is try to pick up the pieces.
⑪ Worst nightmare → Whatever you fear the most is now real or maybe you're just trapped in a dream together, but whatever it is, it feels too real.
⑫ Addicted → You're addicted to something, alcohol, drugs, sex, whatever. It's destroying your life and you can't do anything to stop it.
⑬ Hurt you → You're being forced to hurt someone you love either by betraying them or even being forced to shout things you don't mean. It's for their own good in the end though.
⑭ Separation → You were forced to leave this person for their own safety and while you've been miserable without them, you really didn't mean to run into them again... maybe it was by accident or you were watching them from afar this whole time.
⑮ Becoming a monster → You are slowly changing, becoming a monster: vampire, zombie, demon, something you can't recover from and no-one can help you.
⑯ Frozen → You are entirely helpless, frozen, to stop some kind of disaster.
⑰ Prison → You were very bad and now it's time to pay the price by turning yourself in or maybe the law just finally caught up to you.
⑱ Fear → You're not sure why, but you are suddenly terrified and you can't deal with it. You need help.
⑲ Hated → You are now hated by the person you loved the most.
⑳ Down and out → You're living on the streets, you've hit rock bottom, and you don't know what to do.

CRACK.
① Sexswap → Uh-oh, you're suddenly the opposite sex!
② Forced confessions → No matter what it is and no matter how hard you resist, you're going to be compelled to spill some deep dark secret!
③ Mind-reading → You've suddenly got the ability to read minds!
④ Animal → You're suddenly part animal or transformed into an animal!
⑤ Awkward pick-up lines → You're compelled to use bad pickup lines on whoever is closest!
⑥ Back in School / Graduated → You're suddenly back in school! Or if you were already in it, you've aged and long since graduated!
⑦ Vampires, werewolves, and zombies, oh my! → You're suddenly a vampire, werewolf, or zombie! Maybe even a demon or a devil, whatever creepy crawly you can think of. What do you do now?

⑫ Suddenly a kid → You're a kid again! Have fun with that second childhood.
⑬ Fortune cookie → You've suddenly received a note with something that will happen in the future, either precise or vague.
⑭ Super power → And suddenly you're like Superman! Any power goes.
⑮ Bodyswap → Somehow you've changed bodies with the other person.
⑯ Back in time → Somehow, you wound up in the past again. Do you try to correct something or just sit and wait for time to jump? Maybe it jumps to various points in your life or maybe you actually think you're back in the day. Have fun, run wild with the idea!
⑰ To the future → Is it everything you've dreamed? Is it horrible? Whatever happens, you're here to witness what happens to you in the future. Either you take the place of your future self or you're just there to watch. Might cause some confusion if people start seeing double though...

⑲ Locked in a closet → For some reason, you're locked up in a closet with someone else. Do you make nice and try to figure your way out or what?

FLUFF.
① Cuddling → For whatever reason, characters feel like being close and cuddling.

① Nice meeting you → It's your first time meeting this person! You bumped into each other on the street, in a bar, at work... whatever!

③ Lost → You're lost and you kind of need help finding your way to where you're going. A little help with directions?
④ Costume party → You're at a costume party, both of you are wearing masks. Do you keep the anonymity or take it off and see whose company you've been enjoying?
⑤ Wrong number → Oops, actually you didn't mean to call that person...
⑥ Drunk → You're already drunk! Drunk dialing, stumbling into someone, showing up unexpected... what type of drunk are you anyway? Aggressive, loving, happy? How does the other react?

When one is involved in a hostage situation, there are a few common sense rules one should always abide by. Don't make yourself a martyr. Don't tell the hostage takers how much money you're worth. Don't tell them how influential you are.

Unfortunately, when one is somewhat of a local celebrity, especially among the city's criminal element, one doesn't really have to tell them anything.

Edgeworth glares balefully over his shoulder as his unwanted bodyguard gives him a rough shove, nearly sending him toppling to his knees. He doesn't speak, though; the dark welt blossoming across his cheek is too fresh a reminder of the warning he received the last time he opened his mouth. Ahead of the little caravan of black clad, well armed men, the whirring of helicopter blades is quickly approaching deafening decibels. The roof must be only a flight or two away.

Fear grips him again. Each time it's been progressively more difficult to bury it and focus on the strategies he needs to survive. This time he returns to that well of relief he felt only minutes ago when, after an hour of careful leveraging and manipulation, the bank robbers had prepared to move out and take Edgeworth--and only Edgeworth--with them. He can easily recall the mingled relief and pity worn by the other hostages as they watched while he was led away. It's a bittersweet comfort, but comfort enough to steady his nerves for the next leg of his journey.

Steve eased himself along the hallway, and opened the door. When the hostages were released and the helicopter sent in, that was his cue. He hurries up the steps, moving faster than any human could manage, and the rear man is quietly taken out, strangled until unconscious and left on a landing. Then Cap jumps onto a railing, and jumps upwards.

He grabs onto the railing, does a flip, and lands almost beside Edgeworth. The man holding onto the lawyer gets an armoured fist to the face and falls down the stairs, causing several of his fellows to trip.

"Get down, sir," Steve orders, and all but knocks Edgeworth to the floor. Standing over him, he becomes a whirlwind of death, knocking people aside like rolling pins, and using his shield to block any bullets that comes towards himself and the man he's prepared to protect with his life.

It happens too quickly for him to follow. Before he's fully registered the stranger's sudden appearance, he finds himself on the floor, the sharp edge of the steps digging into his calves and lower back as he watches the shocked face of his former guard, a spot of brightness rolling down the dimly lit stairs and taking his fellows with him.

Then the fighting begins in earnest. A thunderous din fills the stairwell as bullets fly and ricochet in every direction. A vision (a memory) of blood and darkness fills his mind, and for a moment all he can do is clutch his head and cower against the wall. But the thunder is not an earthquake, and the stairwell is open and airy. He forces himself back to the present, where a man in a costume is risking his life to bring Edgeworth out of that stairwell safely. The least Edgeworth can do for him (or perhaps the most, given what they're up against) is provide an awestruck audience.

The shield protects both of them from the flying bullets, and between bouts, Steve punches and kicks at the attackers, sending them flying. It's almost unfair, and many of them fly quite far before falling, struck by his superhuman strength.

A couple of them flee for the roof, and Steve throws his shield, which hits both men and downs them, before flying back to him and being caught neatly out of the air.

Then there's a silence, broken only by the whirring of the helicopter, and Steve looks down. "Sir, are you all right? Were there any more of them?"

The silence seems more deafening than the volley of gunshots and screaming that preceded it. Edgeworth's gaze travels the stairs, taking in the carnage left in the masked man's wake, and it's a long time before he can speak.

"I don't know. They... It was hard to keep track." He had made an effort, of course. Cataloguing details was second nature to him, but most of the men had worn coverings over their hair and some had worn strange goggles or masks. With so few distinguishing features to follow it was hard to remember who was who, and impossible in that dark stairwell with fear distracting him. "The pilot must be one of theirs."

Steve nodded, and held out a hand, offering to help the man to his feet. "Are you hurt? Can you walk?"

Dazedly, Edgeworth shook his head, and his somewhat glazed gaze passed over the other man's hand with only a flicker of acknowledgment. He braced both hands on the stairs and pushed himself to his unsteady feet.

"I'm fine." His voice sounded far more certain than he actually was. He stood still for a moment, half anticipating a stabbing pain from a wound he didn't even realize he had received. When none came, he finally fixed his eyes on his odd companion as if seeing him for the first time.

Then recognition dawned awkwardly across his face, confusion and disbelief that bordered on skepticism.

"You're... You're you."

Steve lowered his hand as Edgeworth got to his feet, but he was ready to catch him if he wobbled, just in case. He didn't want to see the man fall down the stairs and break his neck, right after he'd gotten done saving him.

He's actually assumed all along that Edgeworth knew who he was. So when he saw realization dawn on his face, he blushed. Thankfully, most of the shy expression was hidden by his mask.

"Yeah, I'm Captain America," he offered his hand again, this time to shake. "But you can call me Steve. What's your name, sir?"

What wasn't hidden by the mask was easily mistaken for the flush of exertion. Edgeworth extended his hand; his handshake was even more firm than was customary for him, and the slight tremor in his voice was the only clue that betrayed the lingering effects of his adrenalin rush and the oncoming crash.

"Edgeworth. Miles Edgeworth. I was under the impression that you're based in the capital, Mr. Rogers."

Steve nodded. He'd told him to call him Steve! But all right, if Miles wanted to be formal, he'd be formal. "I normally am. I'm here on some personal business. Heard about your predicament and thought I'd lend a hand."

He smiled and jerked his head. "Follow me, Mr. Edgeworth. I've got to take care of that chopper, and I think just in case tehre are more of them in the building, you'll be safest nearby. This'll all be over soon."

Edgeworth didn't even call his best friend by his given name. If Rogers wanted that honor he'd have to do a lot more to earn it than just saving Edgeworth's life.

Following Captain America into certain danger to avoid the mere possibility of danger on his way to safety didn't seem like entirely sound logic as far as Edgeworth was concerned. Still, he tightened his jaw and gave Rogers a brusque nod. "This is one of the exceedingly rare times when I'd be grateful for some company."

He took one last look around at the unconscious guards and weapons littering the stairs. "Are the other hostages safe?" The last he had seen of them it looked as if the bank robbers had left them behind, but a persistent fear still gnawed at him, pointing out how easy it would have been for the robbers to leave a single, armed man behind to remove the threat posed by the witnesses as soon as they were out of sight.

"Yes, they all got out before I came in after you," Steve said reassuringly.

He started up the stairs, trusting Edgeworth to follow him. "So why did they single you out?"

Edgeworth breathed a quiet sigh of relief and began to follow him, gingerly picking his way around the bodies littering the stairs.

"Because I convinced them I was the only one of us worth their trouble."

"That was real brave of you, sir," Steve said with quiet sincerity, glancing back to give Edgeworth a smile.

The brilliant smile made Edgeworth avert his eyes.

"It became the obvious course of action once they recognized me. My value as a compliant, influential hostage easily trumped the value of a troop of frightened bank employees and housewives." There was no bragging in his tone. When he called himself influential, he might as well have been describing the pale grey color of the stairs or the garishness of Captain America's costume.

"Not everyone would have seen it that way," Steve said. "So...who are you, then?" He didn't exactly follow legal circles, and wasn't local, either. He had no honest idea whom he'd rescued.

"Not everyone is a public servant." He shrugged then quickened his pace.

"I'm a prosecutor for the city. I've...been involved in a number of high profile cases." 'Involved in.' Neatly side-stepping the truth was one of Edgeworth's many talents. "Extensive media coverage is an occupational hazard. In addition, I've earned a substantial reputation with the city's criminal element."

"Oh, I can see why they might want to give you a hard time." Steve sounds very serious at this. So the goal wasn't necessarily to ransom a rich guy for his money. Edgeworth might have been in for a lot of pain if Steve hadn't come along.

They've reached the door to the roof, and Steve pauses. "Stay in here," he instructs, listening as hard as he can, but the helicopter noises overwhelm any sense he might have about how many people might be out there. "If there's gunfire, I don't want you to get hit. It'll all be over soon, I promise."

He glances at Edgeworth. "Okay?"

Edgeworth preferred to pretend the welt on his cheek wasn't necessarily a precursor of things that would have come if this scenario had played out differently. It was true that the High Prosecutor couldn't expect to be very popular with a group of criminals, but with his money and connections he was at least more valuable to them alive than dead. It was more than could have been said for the other hostages. His expression darkened; before he could dwell on it any longer, Rogers drew them both up short.

Edgeworth's heartbeat quickened as his gaze flicked to the metal door. "You're sure you'll be all right?" It was a stupid question, he knew the moment he asked it. The man was superhuman. What could a few stragglers with guns do to him? A flush darkened Edgeworth's cheeks, difficult to discern in the dim lighting. "I'll...be here when you get back," he muttered.

Steve wasn't so naive as to think that. Honestly, he wasn't nearly as naive as people often assumed. He smiled with genuine gratitude as Edgeworth asked the question, and turned back towards the door, readying his shield.

"I'll be back in a minute."

He kicked open the door and rushed out, shield up. A second later, gunfire erupted, but Steve didn't slow. Some of the people who fired on him were taken out by ricochets of their own bullets. Others he took out directly with blows from the shield when he got close enough.

Then the helicopter started to take off.

Though he tried to prepare himself, the volley of gunshots that rang out through the closing door forced Edgeworth back, cringing against the wall a few steps down the stairs. As soon as the door shut out the worst of the din he began to recover. He hurriedly approached the door again, his muscles tight and jaw clenched as he listened for clues as to what was going on outside. The fact that the gunfire hadn't stopped yet was at least evidence that Rogers had survived the initial siege. Surely the worst, riskiest part was over.

With his attention focused so intently on the sounds emanating from behind the door, it wasn't hard for him to detect the shift in the helicopter's roar when it started to lift off. Without thinking, he reached for the door handle, and only at the last moment did he rein in the urge to turn it and rush in to whatever waited outside.

His attention remained focused intently on the roar of the copter, so he didn't hear the quiet scuffle of movement on the steps below him.

Steve was busy with the helicopter, unfortunately. There was another gunman firing at him from above, but he raced towards the helicopter as fast as he could. He threw his shield, rolling and dodging to avoid the bullets, and it sheered off two of the rotors.

The helicopter took a nosedive to the roof again, and crashed in a fireball - thankfully, Steve had caught his shield again and was able to protect himself from the fire.

Then he turned, not too hurriedly, to return to Edgeworth. He opened the door. "That wasn't so bad."

The urge to do something didn't give way. The louder things got outside, the more Edgeworth wanted to rip open the door and run into the fray. Doing so would be suicidal, of course. He knew all too well that he could do nothing in this situation beyond getting himself killed. But knowing didn't ease his fear for the man risking everything out there or his frustration at his own impotence. His fingers tightened on the handle then he lowered his head and nearly spat, "Damn!"

Suddenly the world outside exploded. He stumbled back from the door, missed a step, and for a moment his stomach flipped as the world threatened to fall out from under him. Fortunately, he stumbled against something solid and unmoving. Relief flooded through him right up until the moment he felt the hard, cold tip of a gun barrel press painfully against his temple.

"Give me a reason to blow your brains out," came the scratchy whisper in his ear. That solid body pushed against his back, and an arm that seemed almost as big around as Rogers' snaked around him, pinning his arms to his sides. Edgeworth swallowed hard and stilled in the man's grip. His eyes were wide, his features slack.

"I'd rather not," he murmured, and then Rogers walked in the door.

Steve saw instantly that he'd made a mistake. He stared at the huge man who had Edgeworth in his grip, and raised his shield, eyes searching for some kind of opportunity.

"It's over. Put the gun down. You can't get out of this - don't add a murder rap to what you're already going to get."

"I'm not getting anything." He tightened his grip and dug into Edgeworth's temple with the tip of the barrel, making him wince. "You're gonna stay put while Frills and I walk out of here. After I'm safe, we'll see about getting him back to you in one piece."
