❄ it's quiet and the snow's beautiful tonight → a winter open meme ‧ post with whatever character you want ‧ responders roll for weather + scenario and get to threading ‧ ??? ‧ profit snowfall; stage i; none, streets are already blanketed in white. stage ii; very light and intermittent. stage iii; light - moderate. lasts longer periods. stage iv; continuous, heavy snowfall. stage v; the hardest of cores - blizzards, snowstorms, you name it. scenarios; ① fuck the police, this is the best time for a walk. hope you've got a nice thick coat on. ② stranded in the buttcrack of nowheresville? weren't you watching the time? now you've gone and missed that last bus out of there. or maybe you're lost, somehow. what do? ③ literally chilling, in this weather, is quite easy to do. sitting around relaxing in it is a wee more difficult, but sometimes much more enjoyable, especially if shelter can be found. the snow is beautiful to watch, after all. ④ the weather's not going to stop you. your snow fort's packed full of ammo and ready to go. those aren't snow angels over there; they mark where the poor souls you've downed have fallen. be careful with that snowman's head!! ⑤ you're about fifty miles from civilization but there's a roof over your head, so never mind the chilly draught, right? right. you mightn't be the only one lucky enough to stumble upon this little shelter, though. remember to share the blanket. ⑥ everyone stuck outside should be jelly. you've got a fireplace and hot cocoa and damn if it isn't awesome. a heater's not quite so romantic, but it'd do. there'd better be a backup generator in case the power trips. ⑦ mix and match, or make up your own ‧:❉:‧

[Fluttershy sighed softly, snuggling more into Chris side as they sat under the shared blanket in front of the fireplace.

It had been such a pleasant surprise waking up that morning to find the world blanketed in white; the crisp fallen snow leaving a calming peace and stillness in the surrounding area. The chilly air seemed to seep into the house, though, leaving every room cold.

Not that they were really complaining, as it was the perfect opportunity to warm up a little.]

[Ever since the transformation there hadn't been many instances Chris could call himself "cold", but today had been one of those days. And what better way to warm up than sitting with a loved one in front of a fire?

He nuzzled against her, one arm resting around her shoulders. Underneath the blanket his tail rested across their legs, a connected line between them. His arm tightened a moment and then relaxed, and he gave Fluttershy an alongside smile.]

[She smiled back at him, nuzzling him a little more. Then she took a sip of cocoa from her mug, reveling in the warmth as the beverage flowed down her body.

Glancing at him, she offered the mug to him.]

[He looked at the mug and then at her, smiling a little.]

No thanks, maybe some later.

[In his own mug.]

Okay...[She took another sip of the hot chocolate, giggling a little.]

But it's really good...

[beingthecreature]

I know, I can smell it, and it smells really delicious.

But maybe later.

[strengthinkindness]

[She giggles, a bit teasingly.]

It might get cold by then.

[She takes another sip, then tries to lick the stray chocolate on her lips.]

Then I'll make more.

[He glanced aside, then smiled and placed a hand on the side of her face, leaning in slightly.] Here, let me get that.

[And he closed the rest of the distance, kissing her softly and holding it for a few moments before pulling back, with a parting flicker of his tongue over her lips.]

[She makes a soft noise when he kisses her, and the feel of his tongue over her lips causes a shiver down her spine that has nothing to do with the cold.

Glancing up at him, she smiles.] Hmm...I think I like that better than the cocoa...

[He chuckled a little, taking the mug from her hands and putting it aside.]

Well... I could think of a pretty good way to keep warm.

[strengthinkindness]

[She giggles softly. Once her hands are free, she rests one against his chest as the other hand pulls the blanket up just a bit higher.]

Mm I was wondering if you might...

[And it suddenly didn't seem as cold.]

[beingthecreature]

[The fire had gone down quite a bit when Chris roused, sitting up and stretching his arms out wide with a yawn, the blanket falling away. Absently scrubbing a hand through his hair he first glanced at the mug- still sitting up where it'd been left, good -and then to see how Fluttershy was.]

[She sat curled up against his side, nuzzling into him as he moved. Somehow she didn't wake yet, though, and slept on with a very contented smile on her lips.]

[He smiled, taking a few moments to affectionately stroke her hair.

Then he shifted and rolled forward onto the balls of his feet, grabbing the mug by the top and standing up with it, off to dispose of what is now very cold cocoa. As he leaves his tail snakes under part of the blanket and flips it over Fluttershy's shoulder, covering her up a little more in his absence.]

[She makes a soft displeased sound when he moves away, then curls a little under the blanket to try and keep the warmth.]

[beingthecreature]

[Chris steps on the kitchen floor and then automatically dances backward a little, shivering a little from the cold jolt that had gone up his leg.

Edging forward a bit he put the claws of one foot down first, then eased onto it and the other, walking across the kitchen with as little contact to the tile as he could manage.]

[Despite the blanket, her shivering is enough to rouse her into waking. Rubbing her eyes a little, she blinked wearily and glanced around, wondering where Chris went.]

[Chris was currently rinsing out the mug with the hottest water possible, and transferring from foot to foot as the cold floor became intolerable.]

[Pulling the blanket around her shoulders, Fluttershy slips off the couch and starts to wander around in search of Chris.

She doesn't have to get very far though, and holds back a chuckle as she watches him.]

You know...this might be a good time to try shoes?

[beingthecreature]

[It's a good thing he'd been in the process of drying his hands and wasn't holding anything breakable, because he jumps a MILE when Fluttershy speaks behind him.]

[She can't help the giggle this time.] For a demon with heightened senses...you sure are startled easily...

[Not that she's one to talk about getting startled, but still.]

[beingthecreature]

[Okay... okay... BREATH.

Glancing over his shoulder, he laughed a bit.]

If you keep coming up behind me when I'm busy...

[She giggles again as she walks into the kitchen (unlike Chris, she's wearing socks), wrapping her arms around his waist and nuzzling his back.]

Mm well, I'm sorry...

[Maybe, sort of...somewhat.]

[He smiled, turning in her hold to kiss her softly, then lightly tapping her nose.]

It's fine. Apparently I just need to spot check more often.

[She smiles, though scrambles to catch the blanket before it falls off her shoulders.]
