too much fluff. let's kidnap it

I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you. |
i. Scenarios ① kidnapped for ransom - everyone wants to make a quick buck. and what quicker way is there than ransoming someones life. Not that everything always goes to plan. Let's just hope that everyone comes out alive and happy. ② kidnapped for revenge - Someone was on the wrong side. Maybe it's the significant other of an Ex. Maybe it's the Ex themselves. Or perhaps it's even more complicated than that. Either way, there's nothing sweeter. ③ cracknapping - Okay, so you didn't mean to drink that much, but now you have woken up in a room with a bunch of mascots from the game and what is going on? ④ kidnapped for help - We need you help. Whether you're willingly up to offer it or not. ⑤ kidnapped for their own good - Want to get you out of a bad situation. It's for your own good. Trust us. You're safe now, you won't be hurt any more. ⑥accidental kidnapping - okay. so this wasn't... exactly what was planned. But looks like we've got an extra person now. W H O O P S ??? ⑦ wildcard - Anyway you want it. ii. relationship ① kidnapper and kidnapee - The prize and the thief, what better combination? ② kidnapee and rescuer - Don't worry, they're here to save you. ③kidnapees! - Well. Stuck together. This is a good bonding moment. ④ kidnappers anonymous - All of you need to get together and feel bad about yourselves. ⑤ wild card - That's the way you need it |

It's probably some merc group; head hunters looking for a quick buck after the wars end. There's plenty of people out there that probably have Herc on their shit list -- the Jaeger program was controversial and expensive, and there's some out there that are looking for some recompense; some amount of money they feel entitled to but don't deserve.
Too bad in snatching him, they've really pissed off the last Jaeger, Gipsy Danger, and it's her that's coming to get him. ]

He has no idea how those punks snuck up on him (and yes, he's going to consider them punks no matter how old or how well-armed they are) or what they even hit him with, but when he eventually surfaces, he knows he's been drugged. They wouldn't have been able to move him otherwise; real life isn't like the movies, when you get knocked out, you don't stay out for hours, not unless something else is done to you.
Something else like barbiturates.
His head is pounding and his shoulders are screaming at him, he finds out why when he opens his eyes and realize they've tied his hands together and yanked them behind himself, forcing his shoulders into an extremely painful position.
There's a video camera on a tripod set up in front of him, and he instantly knows where this is going.]
Kidnapped for ransom, [he croaks, resisting the urge to roll his eyes because that will just make his head hurt more.] How fucking stupid are you?

They're not exactly polite, either - rough and rowdy, angry -- desperate, maybe. It's hard to say, because they're obviously not thinking with a clear head.
They want money or the Jaeger, they tell him, because either one is suitable. Cash is good, but the Jaeger would fetch a damn good price, all things considered. How they even know what the fuck she is is still up in the air, but they're not talking about details. Minutiae, they say, shrugging, the details don't matter. You'll get us what we want.
'Or you die' is implied, but not spoken. Doesn't need to be spoken, not really. ]

He bares his teeth in a feral sort of smile, his gums red around the edges from the blood still in his mouth, his eyes wild. They'll get Gipsy over his dead body.
Apparently that's fine by them, because they seem less than impressed by his display of anger, which just serves to piss him off even more. How dare they threaten someone he loves? Though his hands are still yanked up behind him, he starts trying to pop the cuffs, working the edge of them along his wrist and trying to break the skin so he can use his blood as a lubricant to help him slide them off. Dislocating his thumb won't be any fun, but he's had worse injuries, he can survive this one too.
No way is he letting them hurt Gipsy.]

Unfortunately, not many people negotiate with terrorists. The government, at this point, has zero tolerance for this kind of shit.
Same with Gipsy, actually. Her tolerance level is zilch right now, and there's not going to be any negotiating. They probably didn't expect the jaeger herself to show up (though they really should've) -- and truth be told, she's not really supposed to be here. She'd been told not to interfere, but...
It's Hercules. It's her pilot at risk -- they dared to touch him, her goddamn pilot -- and now there is going to be some serious hell to pay.
When Gipsy bursts into the room, it's not with any niceties, or the naive sweetness that Hercules is used to. It's with harsh aggression and cold, calculated precision.
She drops every single one that comes at her within seconds, and moves to secure the select few (smart ones) that don't attack with their own sets of handcuffs and rope and whatever other tools are available in the room.
Once she is absolutely positive they aren't going to escape anytime soon, she comes over to him, flicking a utility knife from a holster at her thigh, and cuts his bonds with a deft flick of her wrist. Her free hand grips a small pistol that remains aimed at the perpetrators. ]
Hello, Hercules Hansen. Are you happy to see Gipsy Danger? [ She's smiling at him, but there's a coldness in her eyes that shows just how pissed off she really is that they hurt her goddamn pilot. ]

Right now he gets to watch Gipsy in all her glorious righteous fury single-handedly destroy nearly every member in whatever idiotic splinter cell it was that took him — they never did get around to telling him who they were, just that they wanted money or Gipsy which, let's be honest, was not a good demand — and he's always know that Gipsy was spectacular, but he doesn't often get to see her strut her stuff now that she's not a giant monster-fighting 'bot.
She may be a lot smaller now, but it doesn't detract from her image at all.
She finally makes her way over to him and breaks apart his bonds, letting his arms drop back down to his side, and he slumps a little in relief and exhaustion. His hands and arms are screaming at him again, the sudden resurgence of restricted blood flow making his extremities burn, but it's a secondary worry when he can lean forward a little and rest his forehead against her diaphragm.]
Oh, love. You have no idea.
no subject
Couldn't not come.
[ Her tone is still light, but there's ice and fury undertones. Gipsy is pissed.
Eventually, she pulls away from him, gun still trained on the small group of cowering traitors, her eyes fixed on Hercules. ]
Can you stand, sweetheart?
[ She gets it honest. ]
no subject
Yeah, I just need a second to remember I have legs.
[And a moment to untie his feet from the legs of the chair he's been strapped into. It only takes him a few fumbling attempts to get numb fingers to cooperate, and then he's struggling to his feet, swaying a little.]
Drugged me with something, [he tells her, squinting against a fresh wave of pain and dizziness that threatens to overwhelm him.] Dunno what.
no subject
[ It's almost an order, and it probably would be if it was anyone other than Hercules. ]
There are others on the way, behind me. They moved too slowly for my liking.
[ So she outran them, and took it upon herself to dispose anyone that stood between herself and Hercules. She's probably going to catch some hell for murdering the shit out of half of them, but Gipsy doesn't care. She left some alive for interrogation -- it's not like they won't be able to get the answers that they need. ]
You need medical attention immediately. [ And if he can't walk? He's going to get picked up and carried out bridal style.
And actually you know, that's exactly what she's going to do anyway. Sorry Hercules, the blows to your dignity and pride are not going to stop anytime soon. ]
no subject
Thanks, Gipsy.
[He can't help laughing again when she admits she ran in front of the rest of the group; he has a moment of anticipating just how pissed Stacker is going to be before he remembers his friend is dead, and his face falls a little. There will be no one to chew her out about this, because he sure as hell isn't going to. Oh well.
He's about to tell her that yeah, he's planning on going to the med bay as soon as they get back to base. And then she apparently decides he's being too slow and stoops to pick him up.
He's too tired to do much more than groan, squeezing his eyes shut.] Gipsy, love...
no subject
Shh. [ She only has a tiny inkling of what this is going to do to his pride, and at the moment, she doesn't care. She simply wants to get him back to the 'dome and into the capable hands of the doctors that currently reside there. The others are not far behind her -- they can deal with the ones that are currently sitting on the floor, tied a little too tightly for comfort. ]
I will always come for you, Hercules Hansen. [ Her words are soft and quiet as she carries him out, meant for him and him alone. ]
Always.
no subject
He sighs and tries to get comfortable, resigning himself to his fate.]
I know, darling, but do you have to carry me?
no subject
Gipsy Danger stands with Hercules in her arms, surrounded by blood, guts, and slaughter. Three terrified tourists remain huddled in a group, tied together with leftover rope that had been sitting on a far table.
She leaves them to it, and leaves, Hercules firmly in her arms. ]
If you feel the need to empty the contents of your stomach, I will not be angry. [ There's no telling what they gave him. She won't hate if he pukes on her. ]
no subject
The look he gives the rest of the rescue team is extremely unimpressed, and though a healthy sense of self-preservation, they all keep their mouths shut as Gipsy strides past them with her pilot safe in her arms.]
I think I'll be alright. But thank you for your permission.
no subject
A sight that they really consider themselves lucky to have seen, seriously. ]
Probably. However.
[ She's not taking any chances. Instead, she's going to march him right to the waiting chopper, curl him in her arms, and kiss his bloodied forehead and refuse to let him go. ]
no subject
However you're not going to risk it?
[He's so very fond of this Jaeger, sometimes it just overwhelms him.
It doesn't stop the low burn of embarrassment from pinking up his cheeks when she carries him into the chopper and doesn't let him go, instead holding him on her lap.] I'm not going to get out this with my dignity intact, am I?
no subject
[ She keeps him firmly cuddled in her lap and she brushes hair from his face, a faint, tightly controlled smile crossing her features. ]
Not likely, no. I am sorry, Hercules Hansen.
no subject
You're going to be the death of me, love.
no subject
Or the life. [ She squeezes him gently. ] Rest. I will tell you when we arrive.
no subject
[But he's finding it hard to care much, not when he's got her here to hold him safely in her arms, looking out for him. He lets himself sprawl over her lap, his head lolling back to rest against her shoulder, and loosens his iron grip on consciousness.
It's overrated, anyway.]
no subject
And there? She will gather him in her arms, and carry his ass all the way through -- right in front of God and everyone -- the 'dome and down to medical. ]
no subject
It's fine, he's safe. Gipsy has him and they're safe at home. There's no cause for alarm.]
no subject
She's not leaving. Not until Gipsy is sure that he's safe, and that he is going to be fine. She needs confirmation. ]
no subject
Not that he can really blame her, because if she was kidnapped and hurt the same way he was, he'd be resolute about not leaving her side, no matter where they put her for diagnostics. Thankfully, people have come to expect that where one goes, the other follows, because the medical team gives up on forcing Gipsy out of the room fairly quickly.]
