Love. Love is a many splendored thing. All you need is love! Except when it hurts because the person you adore doesn't have the same feelings towards you. Then it's a curse.

This meme is very simple, with only a few prompts on its own. But don't let that stop you from letting your imagination run wild, especially if you have a penchant for the tragic. Maybe it's not all bad, though. There could be a silver lining...


HOW TO PLAY

• Comment with your character and your preferences. Also, be sure to mention if you want you character to be the lover or the loved (or either), for lack of more refined labels.

• Either use the RNG or come up with your own scene.

She'd been to the opera enough to notice the lovely Christine Daae, and the young nobleman who met her after performances. There was little doubt as to their relationship, and she wished them well- two sweet and attractive young people deserve all the happiness they can get. And they even had a ghost to make things exciting for them.

Then why did thinking of them together break Morticia's heart? If only she had found Raoul sooner, before Christine...as it was, all she could do was follow from a distance, attempting to be happy for them. Sometimes she would leave thorns as presents, but some fool always seemed to leave roses right next to them. It totally spoiled the effect.

[Mako never thought of himself as religious, and he'd only been in love maybe a bare handful of times in his life, so perhaps you can imagine how dizzy it was making him to have both these things at the top of his mind whenever he was around Artemis. That she was a goddess was unmistakeable; Mako couldn't explain how he understood this, just that he'd looked her straight in the eye and it hit him like a lightning bolt -- instant belief (or more like disbelief) and instant attraction.

The attraction he tried to squash because he was morbidly sure it wouldn't go anywhere. Artemis was the huntress, the maiden goddess, which according to all the stories meant that while she occasionally favored some men, she had never shown an inclination for dating any off them.

Besides. If Mako was being honest with himself, the 'goddess' thing sometimes freaked him out a little. She could do things that were definitely not within the realms of bending and he had a feeling that if he pissed her off, she could reduce him to ashes before he could muster up some kind of defense.

So why do I keep looking for her? He's at the park where the first met, feeling stupidly hopeful that maybe he can catch a glimpse of her before heading to work.]
