True! Still fairly "early days" of established for them, I guess?

Truth be told, there was a lot to be happy about these days. Jim had been brought back from the dead, after all, so in his own way, he might be enjoying life just a little more, and trying not to take so many things for granted. But there was no longer any crazed, murdering fugitive onboard, threatening to hurt his family, which turned out to be quite a relief, as well. They were on a mission of exploration, and he was still the captain of the Enterprise, so there was that, too. And maybe, just maybe, he was pleased to have gotten closer to a certain Vulcan.

"Yeah, they can manage alright without me for a while," he shrugged a shoulder carelessly, turning to lean back against the counter beside Spock, smiling up at him in that charmingly innocent way of his. "You seen one class M planet, you've seen them all." Not really, but this one didn't hold any particular thrall over him at the moment. "I'm enjoying the view a hell of a lot better right here." And then there were the suggestive eyebrows. Yes, he was definitely in a playful mood, and it showed by the way he dared to curve a hand around Spock's waist, then stroke it lightly down his leg.
