I fell into a magical spring when I was on a training trip in China, and now this happens when I get splashed with cold water.

[Ranma pours the water on himself, and the taller, broad-shouldered boy suddenly shrinks down into the short, but still athletic red-head.]

[ For a moment, Rui is confused by the fetching of a bucket. And surprising him further, this stranger suddenly... douses himself with it? He's drenched now, and— ]

Yeah, that's right. To keep a long story short, the water in that area has a special property. Whatever falls into a spring there first is what anybody else that falls in will turn into when they get drenched in cold water.

So I fell into the submerged girl spring, and my dad got the panda spring.

[He gives a shrug.]

It used to bother me, especially since my family has pretty traditional ideas of gender, but it feels like part of me now. You might've guessed this, but hot water turns me back to my original body.

I see... That's interesting. While there aren't any springs that can do that here, I have made contracts with magical beings before. It might surprise others, but magic itself really does exist.

And I'm glad that you are comfortable as a girl, too. As for me... ever since I was little, I've liked girl's clothing. I'm a boy, but it feels best for me.

Yeah, I've experienced other magical stuff. Even if it's mostly the springs.

I don't mind most girl clothes, but I don't like bras.

Don't know exactly where I'd place myself. I mostly do still consider myself a guy, but sometimes I feel like... not a guy? Doesn't have to do with the water at all.

I understand. Even though I dress up, I don't wear bras. Camisoles underneath can work fine.

I think that view of yourself is fine, too. I don't mind if I'm mistaken as a girl. If someone calls me 'onee-san', I'll still answer. As long as you're happy, your gender can be expressed however you like.
