It's mediocre at best. I couldn't bring myself to take someone somewhere that only mediocre. Especially not on a first date.

[She has to pull him down to her level, angling her face up to press a firm kiss to his mouth. It's hungry, assertive, comes with the sharp graze of teeth along his lower lip.]

You're so cute. It's a bit of a walk, but yes, I do have a favorite place. What kind of coffee drinks do you like?

[ He purses his lips, thinking as he keeps up with the walk. ]

To be honest, I don't drink a lot of coffee. But I like coffee ice cream. Oh, and I had a drink with caramel and coffee once. That was pretty good. Hm, maybe I'll just try whichever you like best.

I... I like discovering new things. So it doesn't matter what I prefer. I'll just pick something randomly and see if I like it!

Well, that and he likes to make a good first impression, typically. Sometimes he doesn't care at all, but new people are always fun and exciting to learn about.

If you don't take risks, how do you learn more? If I end up picking something I like, then I get to add something new to my list of options. If I don't like it, then I learned to stay away from it.

[ He pauses, giving that a bit more thought. ]

If it's really awful... Well, that's exciting too. I guess I just like new things and you don't find new things just sticking to the stuff you already know about.

It depends on what I'm in the mood for. If I want something strong I like ristretto, it has a less bitter, vaguely sweet taste. And if I want something weaker, a regular old latte will do. Nothing terribly exciting.
