Any strong belief will spark violence when enough people believe in it! Because no one likes to hear others disagreeing with something they care so much about.

[Except that's really not how it is with the Order of Lorelei. Some of the things done in order to bring about what was written in the Closed Score... well. Sync would probably know about that better than she would. But from what she does know - that the destruction of Hod was written in the Score, as was the destruction of Akzeriuth - the things people have done in Lorelei's name are pretty horrible.

Sometimes she wondered how it was even possible for anyone so heavily entrenched in the Order to retain any sort of innocence at all. But Ion, and her parents... and so many of the pilgrims who honestly wanted to do good...

The theory was good. It's just that something's gone terribly wrong in practice, she thinks.

But she can't contemplate that for much longer, because Sync's words pierce right to her center, and she flinches before she can make her expression anything close to neutral.]

What's your point? Maybe he shouldn't forgive me, but we both know he will.

[Perhaps it wouldn't hurt so bad if it weren't so true. She wants Ion's forgiveness for all the things she's done and all the things she's going to have to do if she can't figure out some loophole - and while she knows he's probably going to be the first to offer it, because he's just so soft sometimes that it's almost annoying, she really doesn't want him to ever have to have the jarring wake-up call that would come with finding out that one of the people closest to him had been a traitor all along.]
