So many experiments, Dr Erskine had been brilliant and his assistants had helped brainstorm so many different concoctions that it was taking a team to catalog them all. A team Peggy had been assigned to for oversight. She'd been working through since morning and the sun had already set. Still they were miles from finishing and she had only cold tea since a quick lunch of sandwiches was delivered that afternoon.

She took advantage of the Bunsen burners to heat water for her tea and make a fresh cup, she could never have knows that the clear, odorless, tasteless liquid had been treated with an experimental drug. No way to tell that minutes after drinking the liquid, heated to release potency, it had begun to effect her, she felt warm but aside from that no real effect, and she attributed the warmth to the tea. Peggy could never have guessed that her body was being turned into a lure, a pheromone telegraphing machine designed to make the next person in contact with her completely enraptured with her.

All was fair in love and war...now that would be tested.

Being in the army wasn't exactly like Steve had imagined or how his mother had described in the stories about his father who had died in the war. Whatever training he might have received as the first super soldier had been put to a halt now that Erskine was gone. And it didn't look like he was going to ever set foot on battlefield.

At least he'd gotten a reprieve from being locked in a labs and being poked at by doctors, That was a blessing... so was his ability to blend in and be unnoticed, even when he was a foot taller than he'd been only a few days earlier. It let him sneak off when no one was looking to get a peace offering for Agent Carter since he didn't know if she was still angry over him ruining her shot at the HYDRA agent.

Carrying a covered tray of what looked the most edible from the kitchens, he made his way through the lab, smiling nervously when he caught sight of Agent Carter. As he moved closer, he suddenly felt a faint sense of vertigo, but that wasn't unusual. He was taller now. His center of gravity was completely different and there were times when he looked down and was suddenly dizzy, not recognizing his own body or its new height.

Dismissing it as an effect of the changes, he set down the tray, trying to ignore the odd feeling that made him feel jumpy. "I - I heard that you were still working, so I thought you might like something to eat."

Had her stomach been so loud it called people in from outside? Peggy mused to herself but turned from her perch on a stool and crossed one leg over the other. She looked over the tray and smiled up to the Captain. "Thank you, I've been trying to steam right on through but there is just so much that I.."

He looked pale, not at all well. Was this an after effect of the serum? She slid from her seat to get a better look at him. He looked somewhat feverish, unsteady on his feet. "Steve I think you'd better sit down. How do you feel?"

Peggy was concerned, the back of her hand pressing to his forehead to check for fever but finding his temperature normal.

[Merlin shuts his laptop. He'd seen the barista pour something extra into that young man's coffee. And that young man looked almost exactly like Arthur. So when they lock eyes, he swallows nervously. Does this mean Arthur remembers him?]

[Well that was surprising and new. Arthur? Shy? It looked so strangely out of place that he put away his laptop and adjusted his scarf before standing and walking over. A brief glow of his eyes and there is another coffee drink being presented on teh counter for M.]

The blush doesn't fade, but Arthur does push forward some confidence. Not that it's hard for him, but well, after his teenage years, he's learned to be a bit more considerate and gentle.
