in a pocket dimension at the far edges of the universe exists a place where people go to feed their most unusual tastes. it has no name (that you could pronounce, anyway): its customers find it only through whispered referral amongst a society's most elite circles and its employees are 'recruited' (loosely defined) only when they are at their most desperate. if you've heard about it, someone has given you a way to travel here, where sentient beings of all kinds are trafficked as products. CUSTOMERS customers are brought into the higher floors. the first few are for those with more traditional tastes, and the rooms are comfortable and even intimate to accommodate a relaxed, even romantic experience. above that, rooms are equipped with all the various tools one might need to explore the urges they dare not speak in polite company — from the tools of traditional kink to implements of torture. here, the customer is king (or queen, or monarch), and can do what they like to the staff short of removing them from the premises. what they purchase here is time and control. SEX WORKERS the sex workers are housed on the first floors of the facility in tidy, separate rooms. dormitory life can almost begin to feel normal — there is a communal space for dining, an outdoor recreation field for exercise, etc. — except that even those sex workers who volunteered to be here aren't permitted to resign or leave the premises. they're never alone — when it comes time to work, they're escorted upstairs by security. those who've yet to accept their place here are more likely to wind up on higher and higher floors until they've been broken into a state of compliance that makes them willing to actively participate in a more relaxed and ostensibly consensual encounter. those with supernatural abilities (or alien biology) may find themselves limited or fetishized. GUARDS the guards who monitor the product also live on these lower levels in a separate area. they keep the sex workers imprisoned and escort them between activities and customers, but they also protect the product by holding the customers to their contracts and removing those who overstep. there's only one rule for guards: you aren't a customer. though they might have to stand guard outside customer rooms while they find their release, guards aren't permitted to indulge themselves in the merchandise — even if they could afford to make a purchase of their own, that kind of crossing of the streams isn't permitted. enjoy hearing the sweet (or not-so-sweet) sounds of your charge without being able to touch, and guards are rewarded for snitching on each other when they overstep. OWNER of course, someone has to run the place! and the owner-operator is the only person here who can do whatever they want. what kind of sadist runs a business like this? they have an on-site residence that they intermittently and unpredictably use to police all of their employees. they can sample the merchandise to make a point, put a guard in their place, or even attend to a customer themselves, if they feel like it. some possible scenarios — - any employee may be a willing volunteer, kidnapping victim, or some in-between that is recruited via extortion, blackmail, or debt. - sex workers can service customers or begin (consent-optional) illicit affairs with the guards. - guards can report on each other, voyeur on a customer and a sex worker or toss out the customer, or get a visit from the owner. - owners can sample the merchandise, put guards in their place (sexually or otherwise), or attend to customers. - in addition to simply soliciting services, customers might try to honorably sneak in and free someone (if you're discovered and fail, you might wind up in here yourself!). how to play — - List the role(s) you'd prefer to place your character in: are they a customer, the mastermind of the operation, a prison guard, a willing sex worker, a coerced/kidnapped slave, a visiting doctor, or something else? - List any preferences and specific kinks that you are interested in incorporating into threads (or that you'd like to avoid). - Strongly consider posting a complete top-level with scenarios and starters as you would for a DWRP event. - Reply to others!
