Have you ever wanted to make sure everyone knew what was yours, so they'd keep their hands off? Well, if you haven't before, you're feeling that now, and those emotions are not towards a possession. They're towards a person you want to claim, no matter if your personality is territorial or not. Or maybe you're the one wanting to be claimed. Either way, this will end in sex that's either public, running a high risk of discovery and publicity, or that leaves marks

There are as many reasons why this desire has cropped up as the imagination allows: frustration, sexual tension, disbelief of others that you're a couple, anger at others trying to steal what's yours, punishment or to remind someone they're yours, a personality-altering gas, hormones, heat, a mutual kink, for fun, for showing the world how much you love them, or even in order to save them and show some despots that this person is taken because better you than anyone else. How serious the "claiming" instinct also depends on entirely upon what you really want.

Remember, wanting something to be your own isn't bad.

how to play

Comment with your character, info, what position you'd like to play, and preferences (IE, het, only consensual sex, prefer x scenario, lots of grabbing or hickies, etc).

...no. there are consequences associated with that risk, and he had delibrately worn thick fabric and one of sandalphon's scarves as extra insurance. but how this temperature makes him want to crawl out of his shirt.

sweat trickles down his temple as he lets out an unsteady breath, clutches the bag of groceries tight to his chest, and lags a few steps behind his partner. if it was a matter of regular discomfort, he could've managed until they arrived (or at least during the drive) home. but this ---

Sandalphon. [the roughness of his voice carries. he swallows and briefly closes his eyes, hoping that he, at the very least, appears somewhat collected.] It seems I've... overestimated my capacity today.

[ it's an awkward situation all around. not unprecedented, chapel's not so conceited as to imagine that, but unpleasant nonetheless: an alien culture that considers single women a free for all, someone taking a fancy to her and not taking no for an answer and it's a diplomatic incident in the making.

and here's the thing: she's not helpless, but she'd hate to punch this guy in the face or hypospray him (if he'd give her the opportunity to grab the right one without getting handsy again) into oblivion, but she's fast running out of ways to avoid him.

which is why it's such a relief to run into pike in the corridor —still talking to some of the leading caste of this planet, yes, but seemingly winding down. pike's good at this diplomatic shit; he'll figure out a way to get her out of this without jeopardising the entire diplomatic mission.

(that the young alien in lust with her is getting grabby right in the middle of the corridor should make the predicament all too obvious. dodging him again gets her right into pike's personal space, which isn't on purpose, but can't hurt in this case.) ]

[ It's not the first time they've dealt with cultures that have, to his Federation sensibilities, such backwards ideas about women and their place in society. It wasn't too long ago, after all, that most of Earth held the same ideas, that women were inferior, were second-class citizens, couldn't be trusted to have their own opinions and their own careers and needed the protection of a man to keep them safe.

Or that they were simply objects, free and available to be claimed by any man who so chose unless they were already claimed by a stronger, more important man.

As much as it pained him to do so, he had requested an all-male bridge shift, meeting Una's eyes with a flat sort of resignation. It's not his preference either, and yet they're supposed to make nice with these people, because their planet is home to a temptingly large crop of dilithium mines, and the Federation could really use another supplier.

He'd almost started to let himself feel pleased that their tour of the Enterprise has gone so well, everyone making polite noises at each other and at least pretending to be impressed with the places they were shown, when he and the diplomatic delegation round the corner to see one of the scientists who'd been beamed aboard the ship separated from his cohort for a purpose that's unfortunately all too-easy to discern. ]

Christine. [ She just so happens to dodge one of the alien's hands that's reaching for her in such a way to put her squarely in Chris's path, which he decides to go with by sliding his arm around her waist and neatly spinning her to his other side like they're doing a dance, putting himself between her and the alien scientist who gets a flat look of warning before he turns his attention back to the nurse still held up against his side with his arm looped securely around her. ]

Ambassador. This is Nurse Chapel. [ He squeezes her hip lightly in apology or warning or both. ] My woman.

[ he spares a glance over to lucifer, eyebrow raised. it was already questionable as to why he decided to wear the turtleneck plus one of his scarves, but to feel that overheated in what was a pretty mild day? it raised some questions for some.

but not to sandalphon. he's very aware, being who he was to his dear lucifer. he's got hints, considering his own needs coming around the corner, plus the way lucifer says his name, but he didn't expect it to be so soon.

that doesn't stop sandalphon from stirring the pot, however.

he closes the distance, putting a hand to lucifer's hip and wrist. they don't exactly stay, sandalphon choosing to drag fingers across whatever available spot he could. ] It's quite alright. I'd gladly take the groceries from you, if you need.
