Not until recently. Before, I thought healing was just mending flesh together, stitching it back when it ripped. If you needed more, make more. With the right combination and chemistry, you'd never tell the difference.

Now I realize that scars don't disappear even when they fade.

What's your favorite story?

Honestly? It depends. Back when I thought I could solve the world's problems by myself, it felt like I'd be crushed any second. But at least I could control the weight even if I couldn't let it go.

Then I learned that in the grand scheme of things, what I could do was a tiny part in a bigger effort I couldn't control, and the weight lifted somehow.

Does it sound crazy that I almost prefer the former?

Certainly the physical wounds are far easier to manage, and that means no disrespect to surgeons and general physicians... which it sounds as though you are?

You must revisit the memory, the circumstance, the relationship, whatever it is, and fully experience the feelings with understanding, and compassion toward yourself. Some say you must 'forgive' others but I find that isn't strictly necessary. Everyone is different.
