Same as the blonde makes an effort to mentally grit his teeth and tolerate the compromises they bring together. He can pick up when things are bothering Izuku and weighing on him. Those are times when he usually breaks the habits and reaches for him. Affection happens. It's mostly sparing and private.

Which is part of the problem since he's simply not open enough. But there are times when he steps into Izuku's comfort zones. Resting with him on the couch, letting his boyfriend cuddle him while he reads, sleeping beside him in the bed despite the smaller boy going all octopus on him. Katsuki makes it up in other ways, cooking for the two of them, occasional getting something random for Izuku, like a CD or little keychain the other boy's been eyeing (rare since Izuku's so Fucking Fast at picking up new merch).
He has harder times saying 'no' to Izuku seriously nowadays. Often snaps out a 'no' and then does it. Backing off his neck when he shakes his head, Katsuki perks it up and eyes him from above, free hand propping his forearm on the bed beside that wild tuftty bush of dark green.]
