Bill floated there and 'casual!! act casual!!!' manifested from every overly casual limb.

"So many people don't like the few free services I offer." Double Trouble pressed the back of one hand to their forehead in an exaggerated swoon-adjacent gesture, without the actual swooning and with a grin on their face.

"I don't really know you yet, of course. Even I don't work that fast." They wasn't a miracle worker! Or maybe they was, but not to that extent. "But I'd like to. You're a very interesting person. I'll even try to be nice about it. I can't help it, sometimes I'm just a soft touch!" Bill did kind of remind them of them a bit already, was the thing.

It was weird to hang with someone who wasn't self serving, whether they were aware of being so or not, and Bill didn't mind it, even as it made them very unsure how to proceed. They didn't see change as a threat, either, or they tried not to. They tried to see only threats as threats.

"But so many people find a mirror and do nothing but watch it." Bill added, impulsively, "I bet you don't get much interest in your hobbies. Why do you like doing what you do? What does it do for you?"

Glancing over at the bard walking with her, Rostriel reached into her bag and took out a flask. She handed it over to him. "Not that strong, but it tastes better than anything regurgitated by a griffin, or dragon." There was a glance to the multi-colored dragon walking alongside her.

And yet it never loses its sting. Or perhaps, and I say this grudgingly, it speaks to your effectiveness as a spy.

Paul is suspicious, both naturally and because he's wary about being manipulated through deals like this. The offer is tempting, so a part of him does think about accepting it. "Something for the pain" could mean any number of things, including some cures worse than the disease. But still...he wants to be polite. He has no idea what Bill is, exactly, but the being is ancient, powerful, and unpredictable. It's never a good idea to be sharp with creatures like that.

"If there's one thing I've learned over the years, it's that things can always, always get worse. And considering everything I've seen and done, that's a lot. Thank you for the offer, sincerely, but the pain is mine to bear."
