TYPES OF SCENES
① Action → Gun fights, bar brawls, fights to the death are all possible scenarios.
② Angst → Characters suffer emotionally or physically from relationships breaking up, death, injury, etc. Hurt and comfort themes are included.
③ Crack → Genderswaps, super powers, sudden compulsions are all possible outcomes.
④ Fluff → Something that is devoid of angst. It's light-hearted and might have the overtone of romance.
⑤ Gen → General fun, things that didn't fit in the other categories.
⑥ Sex → First times, kinks, even dubcon are all possible themes of sex related scenarios.
⑦ Your choice → Think of your own scenario, choose one of the above or make a combo even!

ACTION.
① Zombies → It's the zombie apocalypse, lock and load!

ANGST.
① Injury / illness → Your character has become injured or ill! To what extent is the mun's choice.
② Last moments → You character has been gravely injured and this is their last chance to say their last words.

④ Betrayed → You character has been betrayed by the other. How do they react?

⑬ Hurt you → You're being forced to hurt someone you love either by betraying them or even being forced to shout things you don't mean. It's for their own good in the end though.
⑭ Separation → You were forced to leave this person for their own safety and while you've been miserable without them, you really didn't mean to run into them again... maybe it was by accident or you were watching them from afar this whole time.
⑮ Becoming a monster → You are slowly changing, becoming a monster: vampire, zombie, demon, something you can't recover from and no-one can help you.
⑯ Frozen → You are entirely helpless, frozen, to stop some kind of disaster.
⑰ Prison → You were very bad and now it's time to pay the price by turning yourself in or maybe the law just finally caught up to you.
⑱ Fear → You're not sure why, but you are suddenly terrified and you can't deal with it. You need help.
⑲ Hated → You are now hated by the person you loved the most.

[She gave him a look, one that she hoped burned through whatever actual blindness he had and he could feel it in his soul. Not likely, but a girl could dream. She put the peanut butter on the counter because ew, cold peanut butter, and went to dig in the cupboards, knowing that if Trish had set this up for her, she'd provide what Jessica was really needing right now.

And there they were. An assortment of bottles filled with amber and clear fluid; vodka, gin, rum, whiskey, and probably some wine in there too. She grabbed a bottle of amber, reading a familiar name off the label and tucked it under her arm, intending to take it with her to wherever she was bunking. That had her turning back to her companion.]

I got what I need. What about you? Isn't there a coffin you should be scurrying into?

[rare is the time Jack has in sharing his journey with others of capable quality. he's made many stalwart allies in his time, but their lives are their own, and eventually they had to part ways. likewise, he will doubtless have to say farewell to this little creature... Jack only hopes it can be on good terms, which the means to keep his vow to better things for him, for everyone.

resolve steels his heart and senses to the putrid state of their pathway (his stomach doth protest, though), and he is surprised when their steps lead to somewhere...seemingly pleasant? or at least something of a reprieve. here Jack doesn't have to worry as much about the pathway narrowing - it's huge, in fact!

Jack hesitates, then takes a step closer to the safety railing, leaning forward and squinting down one length of the massive tunnel. their pathway before had lights or at least semblances of it, but this...this is real darkness, isn't it.]

Is this...to be our path ahead...?

[ The Knight simply hands him another parchment from beneath its cloak--it's something with a winding network of lines that meet, bend, turn away, dotted with marked circles. It lets him hold onto that while it slaps its Nail into the bell to ring it.

The sound echoes down the tunnel. Not too long after is the sound of many pounding feet, and soon following, a massive stag beetle appears with rows of seats strapped to its abdomen. ]

Little one! [ comes the creature's gruff and hefty voice. ] You've made a friend, have you? He looks a mighty stranger. Very... bright.

-!!

[Jack is surprised by both the scale of the beetle, but...but its voice! another speaking creature down here? he didn't expect that.

his recoil eases up after a second, and he straightens, bowing respectfully.]

They call me Jack. [he straightens back up.] I didn't expect to find anyone else down here who was... [er...lucid?]

[He gets the impression she's giving him a stare, maybe even a withering look judging by how long Ms. Jones's breathing faces directly toward him, but the one silver lining about being blind is he can't appreciate how much effort she puts into it.]

That's just a myth. I do hope you're joking, Ms. Jones.

Matt's never even felt the inclination to try out a coffin...but he can't deny that it's hard-wired him now to avoid any and all UV - even the mere possibility of it would have him ducking for cover, seeking out the cold and presumably dark where safety exists.

[From here he can easily hear the slosh of liquid in a bottle. Given what he knows about Ms. Jones, it isn't terribly difficult to guess that she's likely gone for the alcohol, although the dust of the safehouse is preventing him from getting a bead on what her first choice was - he supposes he'll smell it on her breath tomorrow. Or sooner, if she cracks it open ASAP.]

...I'll show you where the bed options are. Mostly a bed and a couch, from what I understand. Obviously you can lock the door from the inside.

[There's a smirk at how offended he sounds from her little coffin comment. She knew better, Trish had already filled her in, but she took a perverse sort of pleasure in tugging at his prudish persona. He came off like... well, a lawyer. It was so normal in comparison to what the rest of the world had become, she took an unnatural glee in clinging to that normalcy and peevishness.]

It's sexist as shit to offer me the bed. I'm still going to take it.

[The bottle she grabbed was Johnnie Walker, black label. Something familiar that she used to share with Trish when they laughed over the assortment of assholes in their lives. She undid the top and took a swig. Nostalgia paired with the warmth of the alcohol, and she felt tears prick the back of her eyes.]

Not that I'm particularly afraid of you. Just so we're clear.

Sane? [ The Stag chuckles, a hearty, hoarse sound. ] It's true. These old pathways used to be alive with the flow of travelers, but now it's only the scratching and squirming of creatures and the dull breathing of husks. Ahh...

[ The Stag gets an odd, wistful look about him. ] But still. It's much quieter now, but Hallownest was home to many, and the caverns here are still too vast to not leave a few survivors here and there. Not to mention the travelers it attracts, like your friend down there.

[ He gestures to the Knight with the great point of his helmet, though the Knight doesn't react. He turns back to Jack. ]

And like yourself. You look like you've come from very far off. Well, I'll carry your weight all the same.

[Jack's surprised expression begins to ebb as he listens, feeling a pang of sympathy as he takes in the old man's words. it must be terribly lonely for him...for all of those still within their faculties!

Carry...my weight? [he's clearly confused, even with the little, bug-sized chairs plainly atop the stag's back.]

[ The Stag nods. ] You've hailed me from the station, and now I shall take you to where you need to go. These Stagways cross the length of the kingdom. My joints may be weary in my age, but it is my duty, and I'm more than happy to be of service still.

[ The Knight, for its part, taps the tip of its blade insistently at the map that it's handed to Jack. ]

[at that tap-tapping, Jack double-takes and looks back down at the parchment. things are starting to connect.]

You traverse all of these corridors then, sir? [he is impressed.] That seems like a tiring venture... [he looks down to the knight.] I didn't realize you had allies down here.

[Well. At least he doesn't have to push for Ms. Jones to take the bed instead of barricading herself in the cold, poorly insulated bathroom with an improvised stake: small steps, he guesses.

Matt finally IDs the drink of choice: it's been awhile since he felt that particular brand sting his nostrils and eyes behind the lens of his glasses, but he remembers it well enough. Johnnie Walker. Memories of Columbia Law. Apparently still in production even despite a vampiric pandemic stretching into almost a decade, now, and he wonders faintly why he's surprised by that in the first place.]

I should hope not, but I would also say it's understandable considering -

[And Matt gestures a pale hand at himself and then, at Jessica, at her hot pulse racing throughout her body like an impressionistic neon painting of a human's operating circulatory system.]

- If you find something lacking, I can shop around once it's night again. Aside from alcohol, is there something else I'll need to look for?

[Not technically, because Matt is almost preemptively bracing himself for Jessica to point out that yes, he's blind and he can't actually look for anything the way she can. She wouldn't be Ms. Jones if she wasn't testing the fences, so to speak, pushing her luck with that "charming" wit of hers.]

Considering you're a blind blood sucker and I can squish your heart in your chest if I get pissy?

[If he hadn't figured that out so far, it seemed only fair to let him know that she wasn't the average human. Maybe he'd feel like once she fell asleep, it was fair game and he could sneak in and take a sip. She wasn't prey. She wasn't a victim. And he'd be a goddamn fool to think otherwise. She trusted herself to protect herself, from everyone but herself. Which is maybe why she was in a safehouse with a vampire in the first place.

Far be it from her to let him down.]

I'm not trusting my dietary needs to someone that would pick up a bag of blood and drink it like a Capri Sun. I don't even know what food smells like to you weirdos, so trusting a blind bat to bring me dinner is basically asking to be served dog food.

[And there it is.

Matt's left wondering if she's just threatening or she how well she can actually carry out her threat, given that Ms. Walker had alluded to the fact that her adoptive sister was...different. Not just in the way she bristled with every word out of her mouth, but something a bit more literal. She hadn't gone into the specifics and Matt wonders if it was because if she did, she thought Nelson and Murdock wouldn't take the job.

The vampire doesn't exactly sigh, but his eyebrow does arch over the red lens of his glasses, half-amused, half-curious, and all resigned.]

It smells normal, not that you were asking. While I'd appreciate it if you didn't go caving in my chest, I'd like to point out that if you don't want me grocery shopping, then you'll have to make do with whatever's here.

Guessing you don't trust me with the cooking either.

[Matt could reassure her that he won't burn the place down. Or that he's not a bad cook even if he can't always read the labels by touch (thanks, plastic laminate). Maybe she'll be happy with peanut butter and whatever bread or Saltines are stored away. There has to be some kind of canned soups or Chef Boyardee: easy human stuff that could be technically eaten out of the can because Ms. Walker would've paid more thought to that than an average vampire.]

[Matt would have to be left to wonder, unless he came out and asked her himself. She took a sip from the bottle she'd liberated, then recapped it and looked around at the place she was going to have to camp out in with her strange lawyer. Well, not her lawyer, but she had a feeling Trish was trying to angle it that way- give her someone she might be curious about or interested in to show that they weren't all like the worst versions she'd seen. The military arm of the attachment that kept trying to herd and hunt her kind down.

She was curious enough herself to ask:]

Can you eat?

[Her and Trish had never really talked food. It was a taboo subject between them, mostly because between the two of them, Jessica was the one on the menu for Trish. It didn't sit well with either of them.]

[Doing his best to ignore his eyes stinging faintly behind his glasses, Matt switches the grip on his cane from one hand to the other. It's an old habit to use it even though he doesn't need it. From his reaction, Jessica's question catches him by surprise on two fronts: that she was surprisingly polite and that the question even occurred to her at all.]

Yeah. Vampires can still...taste. Guess you could say it's just cosmetic: a vampire could sit at a buffet and starve.

That something you do on your day to day, or just to play at being human?

[She knew they drank; coffee, alcohol, blood. She knew they mixed the latter in with the former half the time. She'd just pointedly ignored a lot of the specifics because she didn't want to bring them up in her limited time with Trish. Now? She had a captive victim to torment with needling questions that may or may not cross some kind of privacy lines, but since she figured that was the least of her problems with camping out with him, it was a nonissue.]

I'm asking if you can cook and taste it and if you do it on your own. Any reason for a vampire to have a stocked kitchen?

[ riku is surprised himself at her sudden, concentrated worry, only relaxing when she asks him about his head. he breathes a sigh through his nose and shakes his head. ]

Sorry. That's not what I mean.

[ although he can't say his head didn't take some of the damage when he hit that wall. naminé still cared for that well enough, as far as he can tell.

he pauses briefly, searching the floor as he chooses his next words carefully. the thought is almost embarrassing, but less so considering who the recipient of it is. he felt as though he could relay anything at all to naminé and she would keep it secret until the end of time, preciously locked in her memory. he could trust her without remorse or worry. this shouldn't matter. ]

I was hurt pretty badly. Still, I saw you fighting those Heartless. I had to do something, even if I was out of it or I got hurt again.

[ he meets her eyes, tamping down his bashfulness. ]

I wasn't really thinking. I wanted to protect you. That's why I did it.

[ That shake of his head appears to placate her, although only so much as it can in answer to one single and momentary worry. Her face relaxes slightly, at least, her weight shifting the rest of the way back as she falls silent to leave him the space to collect his thoughts.

Her own gaze drifts down, near-unseeing as she endeavors to perform the same herculean task he's doing; her chest is tight with unshed emotion, with feelings she can't quite put words to. It takes her longer to fit them into syllables than it does him this time, and her head lifts in recognition when he finally speaks, both sweeping aside and only increasing the strength of that confusing roil of thoughts she's still trying to sort through.

The knot in her ribcage only seems to wind tighter in the face of his voiced consideration, his caring. Riku has many distinctions in her life, but gains another telling her so clearly that she matters, and it hurts enough and in such a pleasant way that she can't even process how much it touches her before she's saying, ]

Then you must understand-- [ both from experience and because she needs him to-- ] ... that it's the same for me...!

[ It sounds more pleading than she means it to; trying to swallow that sentiment back down, she falters, but can't quite draw her eyes away from him. Instead, they trail down his shoulder, linger on his wrist instead. It's an easier place to look as her own fingers curl. ]

When you're hurt, it's just as bad as if I were the one in pain. And after all this time, it's still you always looking after me. I can't-- really protect you at all.

[ That's not entirely true of course, yet that's how it feels in the moment, after such a long time of what she perceives as failure. Her exhale is faintly shaky as her features scrunch, just a little; she keeps telling herself not to be selfish as one hand reaches out, fingers splaying. The tips of them hover near his arm, ghosting along one side of it like a touch she doesn't dare follow through on, but her excuse comes soon enough in the form of another gentle glow of her magic. There was no visible wound there, yet there never needed to be, for she remembers well enough how he blocked a strike there earlier in the day. Even if it didn't bleed, it would surely have bruised by tomorrow.

And goodness knows she never forgets when she sees him suffer for her sake. Quieter, ]

I can only ever seem to help pick up the pieces.
