ANGST.

He hangs tight to Harry's hands, partially glad to leech warmth from him, partially wanting to provide some kind of anchor here. Peter knows the holidays haven't really been a source of light and warmth for the two remaining members of the Osborn family as of late.

The offer of help seems to surprise him slightly, but it's accompanied by a naked sort of delight. "That'd be great, Harry. There's a lantern show going on at some museum - we could go check it out after dinner? Might be a bit cold, though." His head is lighter, cloudier now that he's sitting down in a heated room.

[ hythlodaeus spares one final glance toward his lovingly crafted shade, a soft, weary smile playing across his lips, before he turns away at last and moves back toward emet-selch. ]

[ he has seen all that he has needed to see, beheld this beautiful landscape that emet-selch spawned in his mad grief, an echo of their home, their time. but they must move forward if they are to heal, and together, he is sure that they are capable of it.

upon reaching him, hythlodaeus squeezes emet's shoulder, his smile gentle. ]

Nevermind the question of how one would lose their arms while keeping their fingers, because the healer clearly isn't paying it any mind. She turns her attention to G'raha again once he she's satisfied that he's drinking the lassi, interrogating him on whether this is a medicinal public display of affection and demanding that he make himself usefully cold up until the point at which he explains that he was already doing that.

He really should not have namedropped Nidhana. Her students are strange and intense and apparently wildly protective of anyone at all connected to her. Lesson learned. ]

This one first, yes? For the fever.

[ He knows that it is, but he's going to at least give the impression of triple-checking. Because he's not entirely sure if he's going to be allowed to that Theo away from the High Crucible if he seems anything less than entirely dedicated to following the instructions to the letter. The glass of the fever medicine bottle clinks against the others as he lifts it and holds it for Theo to take. ]

Also while Raha seems to be minding the alchemist's words, the Viera is not. He doesn't seem to care about whether or not the other is a source of cold or not. Now being so openly affectionate is not something that Theo is all about in the presence of others ( if only because he does respect Raha enough not to embarrass him in front of people outside of their little circle of friends ). However right now that is out of the proverbial window. It just simply feels better to be here. So he is.

Only the problem is that he eventually has to back away so that he can take one of those glass bottles in hand. Granted he doesn't really want to go through with this. Taking medicine is one thing. Taking medicine that he has no idea what it is? That's another. He pauses only to give Raha a "must I?" look before glaring at it. ]

[An arm raises, slowly, offering a lazy wave to the shade. Upon its end his wrist turns, offering a simply click as fingers snap together. The seated shade before them begins to dissipate, its aether dispersing and dissolving into the space around them.

Suddenly it feels a little odd, practically destroying the ghost of your friend... while the friend watches. Hades looks away, choosing to glance at the wall instead.]

...It felt only right, rather than waiting to unmend all at once.

[Now with the wall for support Hades fully leans in, his weight pressed against Hythlodaeus. The invitation is noted and his tongue reaches out into the mouth of the other, relishing in the heat it provides.

No words are uttered save for soft gasps that escape between lips, as the heat deep inside him begins to build. A hand continues to cusp Hythlodaeus' jaw as the other begins to explore, a firm touch dragging downwards over ribs, waist, and lower still.

Finding its home upon his partner's thigh, guiding fingers wrap around its rear, lifting it in encouragement, as hades shifts his own weight to slide a leg between the two before him.]

[ He just grimaces in sympathy. He hasn't taken that specific medicine, but the remedy to offset the advanced stages of aether depletion was the foulest thing he'd ever tasted. Worse than any combination of his first attempts at cooking and the eras-old allagan remedies he'd taken to ease his transformation on the first. Incredibly effective, yes, but vile

The healer continues her monologue on how the fever medicine must be taken first because a high fever would make it unsafe to bring down the swelling in the airways, and G'raha just reaches over to take the bottle from Theo to make sure he doesn't drop it on the floor after emptying it. Broken glass rarely improves a situation. ]

It should take effect within a few minutes. Then it's- the blue one, for your breathing. And then the red to keep you alert.

[ hythlodaeus can only watch in silence as the shade dissolves slowly into nothing, its aether feathering away to nothingness, and he cannot help but feel a little.. sad. sad for the shade's existence, sad for what it had meant to emet-selch, for how desperately he must have needed comfort while working alone for so very, very long. the separation between them had been a great gulf.

but that, like all else, is now in the past. hythlodaeus turns from the empty space his phantom once occupied, and once more drops his hand to slip their fingers together, squeezing gently. ]

[ their kisses are hot, needful, and growing hungrier by the second, and hythlodaeus leans into them with a shameless greed, curling his tongue into hades' mouth to taste him, the slick heat enough to send a shiver down his spine. he loves it, the way hades tastes, the way he feels, how deeply satisfying it is to kiss him, especially in this needful, painful way. normally they are wont to take their time, to savor each other, to linger in passion, but tonight there is an urgency that can only be described as desperate.

hades' thigh slots between his own, and hythlodaeus gasps against his wet mouth, his hips hitching forward, grinding hot and shameless and gods, there is far too much cloth between them, it feels as if he is overheating, his skin too tight over his bones. fingernails biting into hades' scalp, hythlodaeus breaks from the kiss to whisper harsh against his mouth. ]

[ The Knight had gotten a glimpse of this stranger's capabilities before, but now they get to see a better display of it, something more than a half-second movement. And still that refusal to kill rears its head. It certainly paints a bigger picture of who exactly the Knight is dealing with... it wonders what drives him to be so sparing with his sword. Surely he must know how to use it. The Knight's never seen the point of being that careful.

The stranger surpasses it at some point, which isn't a surprise, given that speed was never its strong suit so much as maneuvering. At the top it pauses for a second to give the stranger a considered look. Its gaze lingers for a while on his blade.

It nods, deep and approving. Then it motions for him to keep following.

They pass more of the same: jagged terrain, the occasional pest, the stone embedded with mounds of so many gigantic fossilized marine shells that the cliff seems to be wholly made of them. Streetlamps that use glowing flies for lights illuminate the road. The stranger may have his way if he likes; now in the lead, the Knight only cares to cleave through anything too unfortunate to get in the way. Perhaps the only thing of note is an odd statue placed upon a high point, but the Knight brushes clean past and pays it no mind.

Eventually there's a steep and very deep drop. Another cliff, less tall than the last. Without waiting, the Knight hops over the edge and drops into the pass below. ]

Dull weapons are the invitation for war and chaos. One must have a firm hand when dealing with people. [ he turns back to the terminal he's working from and swaps out the USB for a different one, then plugs that in and continues working. the lines of code move as fast as his hands on the keys; fyo is precise like a scalpel and he mercilessly cuts out the useless parts, focusing on what they need.

but he's still paying attention to vicious, turning the words over in his head. dostoevsky smiles, ah those words do fill his dark, soulless self with morbid delight. ] Perhaps the world I hope to see will come to pass before we betray one another. I would like to share it with someone who understands. [ but the thought of dying at the end of vicious' blade is enticing, especially if it happens after his work is finished. ]

[A nod, as fingers tighten, giving a little squeeze as he leads them out. He doesn't say anything, seeming to be mulling over the emotions and confliction over finally accepting defeat and letting go.

Oddly silent, as they begin to trace their previous steps, back towards the entrance. Slight twinges as he flexes his fingers into hythlodaeus' are the only sign that he is still present in the moment.

That is, until:]

Ah..

[Suddenly, they are leaving the street in favour of taking a smaller, curved path between two buildings]

Perhaps a moment to engage in my favourite pastime, before we do leave.

[It's a small park, shaded and secluded, the tree within a common spot to find one Hades resting under.]

[ No, it doesn't have to be every place. She's aware of that, of course, but her brow pinches a little more at his response, because what she said wasn't the entirety of what she meant. Her work continues as she finishes up the last of the injuries on his back, her hand left to hover there as his 'I promise' finally prompts her to pause, eyes raising to his. Oaths do have meaning to her, after all.

When her lips first part, she has the words already in mind. She could deflect him the way she did before, the way she did when their adventure together began, with logic. 'Won't it be faster if I help?' But looking at him, she feels the words fall away in her throat, her features growing sadder before she can help herself. Breathing out a sigh, the girl wilts just a little, hand sinking. Her fingertips don't quite touch his shoulderblade. ]

Well... [ No matter how upset she is, she's never been one to let her emotions rule her for long. So maybe it's better to speak plainly, then; ] What if I want to stay? At least until you're...

Hands drop to clench the bottom of Hythlodaeus' robes, gripping the fabric and pulling it upwards. A brief respite to catch their breath as Hades breaks the kiss, black robes rising to reveal the body beneath, before being promptly discard on the floor.

Hades move in to kiss once again, wet kisses planted upon the crevice of Hythlodaeus' neck, the sharpness of teeth playfully gripping the warm, soft skin beneath them as hands are roaming freely through soft hair.

A couple more kisses, fast and fleeting, as his mouth rises up to meet warm lips once again. The last kiss however, is soft and slow, lingering as Hades presses their foreheads together once more, fingers sliding down his friends exposed torso and slipping under the band of his pants.]
