[ It's a relief to see how quickly he turns for the better as they move to clearer air. He would sooner that the improvement were more dramatic still, of course, but this much is more than he'd dared hope for.

His instinct is to object to the direction in which that last sentence seems to be going. No. Nothing will happen once he can breathe. He will rest.

He cannot. For a thousand different reasons, the one that has just occurred to him foremost. There will be those in the city that Theo saved from Zot. They will know his face. They will see him as a symbol of hope, the same way people have in every other place they went. And if they were to see him faltering. To see him struggling-

-they cannot let fear consume a people already suffering. And so he must ask Theo to sacrifice his own comfort and wear his burdens well, once again. ]

[The last time Gregory had dared to risk the light of his fazwatch giving himself away to check, the clock read "3:00 am". Even a single hour in this astronomically huge facility felt like an eternity, so the fact that he'd survived this long gave him little hope. He'd gone into nearly every area he could reach with his current security level, a trek which had led him down the beginning of the harrowing task of taking down each of the Pizzaplex's signature animatronics, one by one.

He's not sure what posessed him to go for Roxanne first. Perhaps something about her unsettled him more than the rest. She was the fastest, most persistent, and arguably most aggressive next to Monty in some ways. She belittled him at every turn whether she knew his location or not. While Chica had cooed down the halls that his family was looking for him (impossible), Roxanne spat the bitter truth that no one would miss him (likely). And so, he worked with Freddy to repair one of the robots used to control the raceway cars which he'd subsequently used to decommission Roxy and steal her eyes to give to Freddy.

At least, he thought he'd decommissioned her. He hadn't expected her to jump him from behind, blind yet still able to hear him in the darkness, grabbing wildly at his arms and clothing in an attempt to pin him down. To prove she could still get him, to win. He'd only just barely managed to escape from her through one of the vents connecting back to the main atrium, but now things had gone from bad to worse.

For the first time that night, Gregory could clearly hear Monty's voice ringing out through certain areas of the facility as he searched for him. With Chica still prowling nearly every hall, and now Roxanne on the loose with a thirst for revenge, there were little areas Gregory could escape to. His contact with Freddy had been compromised when Roxy grabbed him, cracking the front of the watch face and damaging it to the point where he couldn't call him to his location. No communicating either. Worse still? Gregory was hurt. Like, for real hurt this time. Freddy had mentioned he was broken before- something he hadn't wanted to hear at the time- but this wasn't something Gregory could hide as easily, visible angry-red lines running from his wrist to elbow where Roxanne had gotten her claws on him. He didn't look at it more than a sparing glance, was too afraid to look too closely. It burned, but this was like a papercut compared to what he'd been through the rest of that night, right?

He had no options left. The atrium was swarming with both S.T.A.F.F. and animatronics alike, and for all Greg knew, Vanny was in the same area. Watching, waiting for him to slip up and come out.

So, already mentally berating himself for what a stupid idea it was, Gregory sneaks his way back into the Daycare. Now, he'd been here once before, had encountered the too-enthusiastic Daycare Attendant who had immediately seen him as one of his charges. He'd gotten the power shut down not long after, giving himself a rather nasty taste of the Sun's alter-ego. It wasn't one he wanted to encounter again, especially not like this, but what choice did he have? He had to face the fact that he was tired. This most recent injury had been the straw to break the camel's back, opening up the cracks in Gregory's facade. He hadn't slept in over a day, hadn't eaten, hadn't drank. Hadn't stopped. No time to catch a breath. No time...

The lights were on in here, though he wasn't sure if that was as much of a comfort to him as it should of been. The only boon is the fact that the Daycare had no shortage of hiding places with its sprawling play area, meaning that he could slip across the threshold and make a beeline for the first structure he came across. As long as he made no sound and stayed perfectly still...maybe he could wait it out until 6. He knew Freddy would be looking for him, so if all else failed, maybe he'd manage to reach some sort of signal if he wandered close enough. He had to cling to that hope as he huddled in an the unforgiving, cold plastic of one of the upper cube connectors in this sector of the play area. He clutched his arm against his front- not noticing the almost imperceptible trail of blood he'd left in his wake- knees to his chest and his head against them, though he refused to look away from where he'd entered. He knew nowhere in this place was safe, not even here.

[ Of course his fever addled brain isn't thinking of all of that. Though had Theo been in his right mind, that would be a concern. He would be the one demanding it as well. So Raha doesn't have to worry overmuch about asking the Viera this.

[ He isn't going to fight this or put up a fuss. For all he knows right now, G'raha is only asking him to do this for so long and then giving into Theo's wishes. To his ears it sounds like a concession rather than a request.

[The man knows perhaps more than any other that not a single soul can stop Hythlodaeus from something he truly wishes to do. But he has to try, holding onto the singular piece of hope that he might consider it.

[ Mayhap that will really be all he needs - a night or two of solid sleep and some treatment. Perhaps someone sitting at his door for a full twenty four hours and pushing him back into bed should he try to leave. Who can say?

Now the kiss to his ear has them both twitching. It might take a moment and for that moment it might appear as though he isn't going to stir at all. Eventually, though, his eyes flutter open. They look a bit glassy and unfocused, perhaps a touch pink from the ash and illness. People won't really be able to tell the difference right now, will they.

Theo then nods, humming and trying to set himself to the task of standing. It takes longer than what he would like. Honestly, the Viera doesn't feel much up to a performance, but he will. As he has done before. Hopefully no one will bid him to speak, because he certainly can't muster the strength to not sound sick nor tired. ]

I can manage. Lead on.

[ The request, or rather demand, isn't made to try to further hide Theo's condition. Rather it is a necessity. Something for him to mindlessly focus on ahead of him. A goal. A marker. Something to keep him moving forward until he can reach the location that is to serve as a place of respite. It's the only way his tired mind can think to keep moving - if something is ahead of him that requires chasing. ]

Which is the reason for the staff, more than presenting the image of someone who has all things under control. Even more than ensuring that there is someone positioned to speak in Theo's place and be listened to. With Theo walking behind him, he can see his reflection in the crystal and know if he needs to alter his pace.

(Or, if worst comes to worst, render him invisible.)

At first, they go unnoticed. People have much greater concerns at present. It's only about halfway to the crucible that they pass an arkasodara man who points and starts to shout about the hero who saved him and his daughter. Then attention is upon them, because these are a people hurting for anything to hope for in a time of despair. A hero is the very thing they need right now. It's once people run up to try to get Theo's attention that he speaks. ]

I am sorry, friends. We have urgent business with the alchemists, that we might see your fair city made safe, and it cannot be delayed.

[ hythlodaeus is not often angry - that much he leaves to his friend. and in truth, he is not angry now, not truly, not in that deep, red-hot way, but he is.. frustrated. pained. he has already made his choice, and emet-selch cannot forbid it. ]

[ he says, softly, turning his gaze away from emet-selch, despite how close they are - but only momentarily. he soon looks back, his expression smooth, resolved. ]

I am no different from anyone else. I should not have special privileges simply for being your friend. If this is how I am able to help our people, then.. so be it.

[ a beat, and his brow furrows, both hands lifting to cradle emet's face, his thumbs cresting over his cheekbones. ]

[ of course he is not satisfied with the view. how could he be, when there is so much more?

he does not live in the past. he does not want to. but his memory of amaurot had grown so thin during all those long years on the moon, and this is.. this is a good chance to refresh it, a good chance to say goodbye. when they reach the ground floor hythlodaeus steps out onto the walk, moving forward, his eyes up, watching the silent, soaring spires. ]

[ That small act of care, that cooling touch to his forehead, does wonders. It does enough to clear the too warm fog muddling his mind for a short time. Makes it easier for Theo to follow behind, even if his own pace is regrettably slower than usual himself.

A shame, really, that he is not more coherent to really observe the subtle changes that G'raha makes to his own countenance. It would be fascinating to him to compare and contrast it all. To see where one man ends and another begins... To measure and see where they blend. Instead all he can do is focus on the next step. One foot in front of the other and pretend that there is nothing at all wrong with him. For the most part, the Viera does a very good job of it. Slower, yes, but steady.

Right up until people begin to perceive him. It isn't something that Theo is fond of - even in moments where he is not plagued with some sort of malady. He's never much cared to be at the center of things or receive a word of thanks. To him he is simply doing what he feels is right and that does not merit the level of gratitude people feel they need to share.

It's a good thing that Raha is there. If not, Theo would have engaged because he's just that awkward. So just as he is about to speak? G'raha does for him and there's a sigh of relief. So instead he offers an apologetic smile and a shrug and continues about his way. Theo understands, though, the need for people to look up to someone. To draw strength and stability from someone who can be that source.

Right now that source, for him, is walking on ahead and Theo follows. At he least he does until he actually reaches the High Crucible. Then all bets are off. He's immediately finding a place to lean against a wall or partition. Anywhere he can rest because he's having to loosen his collar. The exertion has not really been kind to him. ]

[ How strange. Such a bright, yet entirely plain cloth... anything so basic was only ever a muted brown at brightest in Hallownest. And they'd never seen a creature who had such... broad appendages at its legs, that it needed something to protect the bare flesh from the ground. It seems inefficient. Not that anyone chooses the way they're born.

The Knight looks up at the question and pauses briefly. He's been nothing but respectful despite its own hostility...

It backs up and nods, then points its nail upwards and over top of the looming cliffs. Age has rendered the climb precarious, and the face is crawling with little sharp-shelled creatures and angry biting vengeflies. Not a problem for an agile warrior, but it's still something of a tedious task. ]

[ Out of the two of them, Hyunsu definitely looks far worse for the wear. While the last semblance of a cut smooths back over into unblemished skin, his clothing is full of tears and rips where the monsters got their teeth and claws into him. He's also breathing heavily from the exertion as Joonghyuk makes his way over to him, too winded to properly respond to anything the other man said for a moment.

Hyunsu's brow furrows as he scans the ground, trying to do a quick count of just how many monsters there are littering the ground. It doesn't take long for him to give up, and for his attention to snap back to Joonghyuk.

If he had been left alone here it's hard to say that even the Stigma he'd been granted would be enough to keep him alive. ]
