A Gift Just Because

While giving gifts for holidays or birthdays or celebratory reasons is all well and good, what about giving someone something just because? It could be something huge and extravagant! Or it could be that you passed their favorite candy bar in the store and thought of them.

Either way, sometimes it's just really nice to give someone a gift just because.

So, here's how this works.

1: Post a comment below. To make things easier on people that might want to tag you, leave an OOC note with a list of things your character will like. And for hilarity, or for those who aren't really good at giving gifts, you can add a things they might not enjoy so much!
2: Tag around. Give other people stuff.

[ ooc: gwen would appreciate new drum sticks, a very comfortable hoodie, new ballet shoes in bright blue, colorful hair dye, a gift card that can be used anywhere,, a teddy bear from build-a-bear.

gwen would not like: not a fan of eminem so anything with his face on it might not be received happily. ]

Things Beej wouldn't like: being ignored.]

[ Gifts are always a good thing to give a goddess of inspiration! Things she'd like: 1) Postmodern Jukebox merchandise, 2) random pink stuff including but not limited to lipsticks and home office supplies, 3) alcohol. Things she'd hate: a Taylor Swift CD. :( ]

[ Dear Beej,

Gwen was gifted a bar of chocolate, only she's pretty sure said bar of chocolate was made with the Devils Saliva.

It says it's dark chocolate with four different kinds of exceptionally hot peppers, but she's not eating it. Her danger sense won't allow it. So enjoy this bar of dark chocolate infused with Ghost Pepper, Scorpion, Naga Viper and Carolina Reaper.

There's no note, but she did draw a tiny electric blue spider in the upper corner on the wrapper. ]

[ Taylor Swift is pretty irritating. Gwen's not going that route.

Instead, Gwen bought Euterpe a box of Extreme Pink Hair Conditioner from Overtone. There's the daily conditioner, the big jar of once a week, and some gloves to keep Euterpe from staining her skin. Enjoy! ]

[Art supplies, art books, tickets to art museums, canvas, paints, modeling clay, and really any art materials.

Or food because he's going to blow his money on art supplies anyways.]

[ Even her squealing is musical. Euterpe makes a delighted face and claps her hands (in time), turning the box over a couple of times. ]

You know me so well, girl! What's the occasion? You need ideas for the next hit to burst the charts? I got you covered.

[Food...but anything would be appreciated ~~and met with confusion, skepticism, and hesitation, depending on who the giver is.~~

What she would not like: anything with the Empire or First Order on it.]

The occasion was I saw it and thought 'I know who'd love this'. It's been in my hair a few times and works so well. Might be my favorite color from Overtone.

[ As much as she'd love inspiration for her next song? Sometimes Gwen just likes doing stuff for the sake of doing stuff. ]

[ Enter Sam Winchester checking the box of cinnabuns... which are a little smushed, and he awkwardly tries to rearrange them on his way over to offer the box properly. He's not the greatest at Japanese, but he's been working on it.

Nonetheless! He knows she loves sweets. ]

[ Sam likes anything thoughtful. Literally. Unless he knows you're teasing him, he will take it well. That said, he specifically enjoys books, surprises that involve shared time and he has a private love for any types of soups, stews, chowders, etc. ]

(Oh dear. What to get the man who has everything and hates everything? Well... A good book of prose or poetry? Tickets to the theater? Something comfortable--a coat, cozy shoes, maybe even a blanket? Just don't expect a gift to be accepted gracefully.)

[ It gets hard to pinpoint where Sam is these days, but with a little help from Dean and some serious begging for an address Tara is finally able to send off a gift. When the brothers came to Charming, she had been beyond grateful that what she was seeing nightly at the hospital, this horrid creature was indeed real and not some figment of her imagination.

While Dean had tried to get in good with the doc, Tara felt more connected to Sam and had trusted him with some personal matters that came out one night when she was upset after they had killed the creature.

Waiting for him outside the hotel room is a box, when he gets around to opening it he will find several books that were extremely rare on Japanese demon lore along with a wide variety of homemade chowders that she had recently got around to making now that she was on medical leave.

At the bottom of the box is a note.]

Sam,

Just a little something to thank you. Not only for saving my life, but for allowing me to babble about some personal matters that had hit me hard.

Please, don’t hesitate to stop by if you are ever in California again.

[Well, this knight may be unable to give her (or himself) freedom, but he does so love seeing a lady smile. Especially a sweet girl like Sansa, who clearly has been through too much for someone so young.

Sylvain's carrying a little basket, covered with a cloth, but the smell of fresh baking leaks through anyhow as he knocks politely at her door.]

[ B...bread.... bread. Also, bread? Yeah, bread.

Other options include: nice booze (from fellow adults, though a drink at a bar wouldn't impress him much), coffee?, a good meal, baked goods, I strongly suspect a tie would be hilarious, other cooking and or baking related items. His watch is already like $5,000 so don't bother with that.

Probably a lot of things he wouldn't care for... too many but atm I'm just imagining his face if someone tried to give him this. ]

Who needs family when they have friends like you, Gwen?
