THE AFTERCARE MEME

Sexual play can be intense. It can be emotional - it can be exhausting. It's essential to take time after to reaffirm, cuddle and comfort, apply any first aid, and relax.

1: ROUTINE. This is how you always do it; maybe it's complicated, maybe it's simple, but it has the comfort of ritual.

3: SUB DROP. Withdrawal from the endorphins leaves you exhausted and unhappy. Someone needs to help with that.

5: SAFEWORD. You got interrupted in the middle: everything became too much, and someone used the safeword. Time to talk it out.
6: NONE. Your lover is cruel, and doesn't give you the aftercare you need.
7: WITH SOMEONE ELSE. You seek your comfort and your affirmation from someone besides your lover.
8: FIRST TIME. You've never done this before. The experience, the sensations - it's all new, and it leaves you all the more disoriented.

Devero had started the evening upright and proud in his restraints and he had finished their show the same way, despite the trembling, almost euphoric exhilaration that had taken him under while Master painted his skin with flames. Then Lord Heber had insisted they all have a drink to celebrate such a wonderful performance, Master Samir included. Still congratulating his master, the audience filed out of the room and into the parlor next door, and Devero-- skin sheened with sweat, chest heaving, as spent as if he'd just been fucked into a mattress-- was left, upright, in his restraints.

He didn't dare call out after Master Samir, not when it was Lord Heber calling him away. All he could do was wait.

He was too dazed, too exhausted to be able to tell how much time was passing. He tried to stay standing, to impress with his fortitude, but as the minutes passed he found his adrenaline shivers turning to exhausted shakes. The sweat cooled on his skin, chilling him. The euphoria drained away. His heaving breaths caught in his throat and seemed to go no further.

He held out as long as he could, he really did. But even his tremendous stamina had been tested tonight. Soon enough, his knees went out from under him and he fell--

That is, he would have fallen, if he wasn't being held up by the bite of his restraints.

It wasn't that Samir had wanted to go. Frankly, he would have much preferred their ritual to be completed in full, as it wasn't just for the slave. A means for him, too, to refocus and recenter; the art, as he considered it, required so much of his concentration it could give him a headache.

...or maybe that was just further entertaining Heber's guests. They certainly could give him one just by interactions alone. To be fair, they weren't all awful, and many were simply impressed by his work; asking him where he'd learned, if he would teach, complimenting the skill of how he controlled both the flames and his slave underneath. Already, he could see that some were getting ideas of their own.

He didn't bother telling them that it required not so much an obedient slave, but an absolute trust of the slave. One wrong movement, one unprepared flinch, and disaster. There were reasons why his hands followed the heat, just as there were reasons why he should have been anywhere but here.

Eventually, though, he saw an opening. Or rather- made one. A spill of wine on his shirt, an angry snarl and something that nearly became a brawl- and none stepped in his way as he stormed out, snapping at one of the attendant-slaves to get him some water. Not for his shirt - it was practically a lost cause - but for himself, and more importantly?

For the heap of flesh that was his own slave, left to fall in other ways than just physical.

Already tense and angry, his hands were practically shaking as he made to undo the restraints. Still, his strength was sure as he caught Devero once said restraints were loose enough to extract him, and when the aforementioned attendant came with a glass, he only downed a mouthful before bringing it to Devero's lips.

"Drink," he ordered.
