CAST AWAY


You're really doomed. Lost on a deserted island with no hope of rescue, you will surely starve to death, if some horrible beast doesn't kill you first. Or if a storm doesn't destroy your pathetic shelter. Or if pirates don't come to ravage you.

You're finally free. Miles away from any of your responsibilities or any other people, you can finally focus on the things that REALLY matter. The raw basics of survival. It's bracing, and freeing. And...it really is quite beautiful here.

However you feel about it, you're stuck on a deserted island. But there are crabs and fish to hunt, and fruits in the trees. There's a jungle full of wood to construct a shelter. There's fresh water that can be gathered after it rains. There's even the occasional crate of supplies that washes ashore, because this is RP and we're not TOO worried about keeping things realistic.

You're not alone, though. There's someone else on this island, and if you want to survive, you'll probably have to work together.

SOME PROMPTS
1: Washed ashore - You JUST woke up here after your plane crashed, or your ship sank, or whatever disaster left you cast away. You're lost, tired, and confused, but at least you're not alone. Get to know who you washed to shore with, and figure out what you're going to do next.

2: Caveman tech - I hope you know how to start a fire. Or how to catch fish. Or which fruits and nuts are safe to eat. Your smartphone won't do you any good out here. It's time to live off the land like your ancestors did.

3: Settling in - You've been here for a while. It was pretty rough, at first, but by now you've got the food supply under control, you've built yourself a shelter, and the initial panic of trying to survive is dealt with. All that's left now is to just kick back and wait for signs of rescue.

4: Crisis - There's a storm rolling in, or one of you got injured, or there's a wild animal that's threatening you, or your food supply went rotten, or...just SOMETHING went wrong. Just when you were getting comfortable too.

5: Cabin Fever - You've been isolated out here for too long, and your companion on this island is driving you CRAZY. Maybe they've been stealing the food, maybe they've been trespassing on your half of the island. Maybe they just smack their lips really loud when they eat and you can't take it anymore. Whatever the case, it's time to just crack someone's skull open.

6: The Smutty One - "Sex on the beach" isn't normally meant quite this literally, but it's just the two of you out here. Maybe you should both try to save wear and tear on your clothes by not wearing them.

7: Rescue - Every castaway's dream. The ship on the horizon. The plane flying overhead. Somehow, you got their attention, and now you can finally get home. Can you not wait to forget about this damn island forever, or do you feel like you'll miss this place in a weird sort of way?

8: Wildcard - There's probably some other kind of thing I didn't think of but we are only limited by the powers of our imaginations. Go wild!

It happened again. When a superhero fights a guy who can't be harmed in conventional ways, they usually end up doing something horrible to them. He's sure they do it on purpose, knowing they can mutilate him without sacrificing their precious moral high ground. He thinks that, but that's because he's biased. One of the more common methods of getting Sandman out of the way is to break him down and flush him away. He always washes up somewhere eventually.

In this case, it's somewhere lonely. He's not sure how long he's been there, in a semi-conscious state, dreaming his time away. Mind a vague jumble, spread across the beach. Until he feels something familiar that jolts him awake- bare feet walking over him. His voice comes from everywhere at once, gritty and deep, the sands shaking.

"It's funny," Lisa mused as she sat across from Iroh, watching him prepare the tea. His movements were so graceful and precise that she almost lost her train of thought, entranced for a moment by the relaxing ritual. "I was in a shipwreck as a baby, too. Never would have predicted something like that would happen twice in one lifetime."

Then again, a great deal had happened in her lifetime that could be considered out of the ordinary. She smiled, draping her special scarab-silk scarf loosely around her shoulders. It was the one possession she was most grateful to have saved. "At least I'm in good company."

It was friendly kind of flirting. The kind that didn't REALLY seem to imply trying to get anything out of her.

Iroh may be a good deal her senior, but she's older than she looks, and she doesn't mind the flirting. Contrary to what one might think, it's been some time since she's had the opportunity--or the time--to indulge in such friendly, care-free banter. Whether or not anything comes of it, well, only time will tell.

Takeru enjoyed walking along the beach, especially the more isolated and empty ones. It gave him time to clear his head and think and that at times where much needed. Like now. He had blown a fuse a few days ago and then headed off to this uninhabited island with its soft sandy beaches. It was a nice day out, clear skies and only the sound of the waves lapping against the shore. All untill that wasn't everything.

"Whoa!"

Takeru instantly jumped straight out into the water, not bothered by the water splashing him and looked at that shaking sand. Now this was unusual to say the least.

"Uh, sorry. Didn't know you were there. Are you some kind of earth spirit?"
