[ Morbid curiosity has brought him to this point and there's no turning back now. And, uh, it's not a good business move to retreat last second with no warning. He takes a few steps along the sidewalk, squinting through the late afternoon sun's rays, hands gripping onto the straps of his backpack. The person Nito Nazuna is trying to locate is a big guy so he shouldn't be having this much trouble.

This is the right area, isn't it? A glance at his wristwatch tells him that he's a few minutes early and getting ahead of himself. For a second there, he almost thought he was stood up. And even in that event, well, who'd blame the other guy?

Nazuna isn't particularly extraordinary considering he hit his peak at fifteen. He experienced a three year career as an idol in Tokyo before retiring in favor of focusing on university. In spite of his lack of accomplishments, his hard work has brought him to one of the best schools in the country. Even more surprising is that being two hours away from home doesn't keep him from getting recognized as Nazuna-kun from Ra✽bits.

Unfortunately, it's his inability to shake that idol image that has left him a little strapped for cash. He has zero interest in troubling store owners with his part-time presence promoting solicitors to hang around. It was only when he thought to embrace an old interest of his a little more intimately that skies were at their bluest. It didn't take long for him to emerge as a popular radio personality that was heard beyond Tohoku University's campus. His earnest attempt at experiencing this life has paid off and now he can afford something nicer than a stay at a manga cafe once in a while.

... But he's more lucky than anything else and in no position to fuss. Never mind he is meeting up with someone he doesn't know after being approached by an interested party. Well, uh, he's heard of the guy. It'd be kind of impossible not to. The stranger is of Miyagi prefecture fame whose name Nazuna has come across more than once. Hell, the guy's an international superstar in the volleyball world. Nazuna can't even imagine what it's like to be devoted to one thing and be good at it.

It's a question of who is even benefiting from this, he has to wonder. It has to be Nazuna, right? Some sports alpha male isn't in need of some random person's "help." Nazuna's own fascination had him agree almost too easily. Meeting new people has always been exciting to him and supposedly the volleyball guy is a required flavor. But this individual is a human like everyone else, not some mythical creature, deserving to be regarded with respect.

Still... Perhaps it's a red flag that a lot's being left to Nazuna as if to set him up for failure. He has to convincingly pose as someone's precious omega in a long distance relationship. His true status hasn't been disclosed to most, which is the easiest part— but athletes don't typically make the best actors, do they? Jumping to those kind of conclusions is inappropriate so he has to observe first...

His blue headset is yanked from his ears, now hanging from his neck, after another look at his watch tells him it's been about ten minutes since his last check. It isn't a second later that he's perking up, seeing the subject of interest further down the way. Only for that sensation to transition into dread. Does this guy know what he looks like? How much does he know? Nazuna is going to have to ambush this person and be overly familiar about it. Great, great—

Whatever reservations he has about all this are tossed aside in favor of picking up the pace. He sucks in a breath when they are suddenly that much closer, unbidden anxiousness working up through him, licking once at his lips. Readying himself for what might be the first nail in the coffin, Nazuna lifts an arm to energetically wave at his victim. ]

Tobio-chin! ☆

[ He doesn't hesitate to project his greeting. There's an off chance this Kageyama Tobio guy isn't paying attention to what might as well be at ground level with the height difference. ]

[ The first thing Nazuna will (probably) notice about Tobio when meeting him in person is that as great as he is at volleyball, the guy is not that great at anything else. A clear indication of this is the reason why he’s late to their meet-up: Kageyama Tobio, the guy who grew up and lived most of his life in Miyagi, is lost. It’s evident in his expression as he walks around aimlessly while staring at the map on his phone. He might as well be looking at it upside down with how awful he is at reading it.

Tobio’s just not the type of person to remember where places are unless they have anything to do with volleyball. As most people know, his life heavily revolves around the sport. So this whole setup with the brand he’s signed for, requesting him to get into the dating scene as a way to market themselves is like the most ridiculous thing he’s ever had to do in his life. (And he's best friends with Hinata Shoyo, which used to be the number one most ridiculous thing about his life.)

Seeing this as an opportunity to boost Tobio’s image, his manager had arranged this whole “fake relationship” for him, which Tobio barely had any say in because… Well, he didn’t think it was actually going to happen so he didn’t take it seriously until the day his manager called and told him to meet up with one Nito Nazuna, his omega boyfriend. (Tobio also has no idea about Nazuna’s true nature - which will likely change once they meet face-to-face unless Nazuna’s wearing scent blockers or something.)

The obnoxious call of his name (the hell is Tobio-chin?) suddenly grabs his attention. Tobio’s gaze does a sweep of the area, not really seeing anyone familiar… until his gaze drops lower and he sees this guy looking directly at him and waving his hand.

Ah. That must be him.

Tobio walks over to shorten the distance between them. Subconsciously, he sizes the smaller man up as if Nazuna were another opponent he was about to face on the court. ]

Are you [ He tries to remember the name his manager had been drilling into his head earlier. ] Ni...to Nazuna?

[ Oho boy. Almost instantly does he realize what the implication by someone being a required flavor. Though, as far as he can see, it's more that this person is the one experiencing the flavor because he appears to have... swallowed a bug? Well, he can't be making that face because he smelled Nazuna, that's for sure.

He has gone out his way to suppress his hormones, though out of a force of habit as of late. It's a requirement of an idol to present themselves a particular way. Perhaps those inclinations are natural but they aren't any good for marketing. Though it might not hurt in this instance if this is this guy's resting face because he doesn't want to imagine what he'd look like actually smelling something. ]

Ah, uh, well... This would be really awkward if I wasn't, right?

[ There's a weak laugh and he lowers his hand to rub at his own jaw. Slowing to a full stop, Nazuna surveys the other person before deciding he needs to take an extra step back. A lot of guys are taller than Nazuna but... this really is... something else to see in person. He brings his index finger over his lips to make a hushing motion while rocking onto the balls of his feet. ]

But you got it right. You probably shouldn't act so unsure, though~? It'd be bad if someone else got the wrong idea. ♪

[ Now he's flat on his feet again and claps his hands together. As of this second, he is going along with a silly charade like they aren't two strangers meeting for the first time. ]

You went out your way to treat me so you're entitled to a treat, I'm thinking. Are you hungry?

[ He stares back at Nazuna. Okay, so Tobio is right? This is the omega he's required to meet? The taller man's stance, as stiff as it usually appears, relaxes a little now that he's completed one part of his task. His manager won't have to shout at him about this later.

From this short distance, Tobio notes that he can't smell Nazuna's natural scent, which can only mean that the omega is using a type of scent blocker for some reason. It's not really a common practice but Tobio doesn't worry too much about it. ]

Right. [ he nods slowly, thinking that he should probably start getting into his role like what Nazuna's doing... Unfortunately, the volleyball star has zero experience in being a boyfriend. Hopefully, Nazuna is getting a handsome compensation in exchange for this, er, experience. ] I asked to meet you so I should treat you instead.

[ Tobio's not completely heartless, alright? If Nazuna is going to have to suffer through acting as his boyfriend, the least Tobio can do is offer to pay for whatever goes on during their 'dates.' ]

Sorry if you were waiting long for me. What's a good place to eat around here?

Nazuna doesn't hide the fact that he continues examining poor Tobio. The guy doesn't appear to look nearly as unpleasant like before. But he's got to wonder if his mouth is simply shaped to permanently resemble a bit of a pout. A victim of circumstance having to be born with such a puss doesn't make him the devil, at least.

He waves a hand in dismissal. ]

You don't have to do that.

[ Perhaps he slipped up just now, speaking a little more earnestly, but he is quick to go into an explanation with a small smile. ]

Besides, we're pretty serious right now aren't we? So it'd make sense that we split the bill.

[ When people tend to pay for the entire experience, that's normally because it's a casual date or if the payer interested in pursing something more. But in this instance, it's more just to take the financial burden off of Tobio. There's a chance this guy isn't hurting for money and he doesn't need to know that Nazuna often sleeps in a rolling chair.

After this stare off, he finally begins to turn away from Tobio. They gotta start walking sooner or later, after all. ]

You're from the area, aren't you? You don't know about places you'd like? Or has it just been that long since... ?

[ Tobio looks conflicted even as Nazuna tries to make a compromise by saying that they should split the bill between them. As neutral as Tobio seems about all this, it's still his responsibility - his burden that he's letting someone else share with him. But he supposes he can let this slide... for now.

It's easy enough for Tobio to step in stride with Nazuna as they begin making their way down the sidewalk. ]

I'm not familiar with this part. [ He answers vaguely and without much elaboration. Another thing Nazuna's quickly going to learn about Tobio is that he is definitely not the chatty type.

Good luck, Nazuna... ]

I'm fine eating anywhere. [ is what he helpfully supplies next since he's leaving it up to his pretend boyfriend to choose where they'll be dining. ]

[ The great news for the both of them is that Nazuna's has experience with one-sided conversations and isn't too fussed with doing all the talking. This is all going to be taken into stride as they... stride in the direction Nazuna came from. Somewhere along the way, he's gotten a little closer to Tobio as to signal to the world that they are a party of two without doing anything crazy like holding hands. ]

McDonald's it is! ☆

[ Assuming the guy isn't a picky eater. Something casual like fast food is probably best in this situation. He's more or less calling all the shots and yet it's all for a good cause even if he's not going to be bothered to explain. ]

Ah, um, hey~? Do you have LINE?

[ Totally out of nowhere but he isn't about to pretend like he interrupted some deep conversation beforehand. Though he doesn't give the other the time to respond before pushing on with whatever else Nazuna could be thinking on the spot. He glances to his companion once only for it to do him no good. The guy is a little too tall for him to see like this. Oh well. ]

If not, maybe you'd be okay with telling me your email? I was thinking that'd make stuff for us a little easier, that's all. Unless you don't have a phone...

[ Somehow this happy go lucky tree next to him seems like the type to rely on landline. ]

I have LINE. [ which was downloaded for him by his friends. Naturally, Tobio has no clue how to use the app's many features – such as adding new friends. He pulls out his phone, unlocks it, and hands it over to Nazuna so that the omega can add himself.

It's nice that Nazuna is being extremely considerate. He reminds Tobio of some of the nicer guys in his high school. ]

I like doing morning runs and watching volleyball games.

[ Tobio recognizes that the things he likes to do aren't really what other people would be interested in... So he returns the question. ]

What do you like to do? [ They can probably reach a compromise? ]

[ At the back of his mind, Tobio also begins to wonder when they should discuss the topic of scenting and giving each other temporary marks to show that, yes, they really are together...

Probably after getting to know each other a little more. ]

[ And he's suddenly being handed a piece of technology. This guy must be pretty trusting... Or just that dumb. Nazuna cautiously tilts the phone in his hands before doing what he has to do. Looking down at a phone while walking isn't a good idea but he wants to think he can't cause too much trouble for twenty seconds. ]

Morning runs? Maybe we should race one morning, then.

[ It's said a little absentmindedly but he does sort peer up from the screen to acknowledge his own offer. Or maybe the short gesture is from the realization that he himself is......... rather ordinary compared to a sports superstar. ]

Um, I'm in university...

[ Which isn't really an interest as much as it's something that takes up a majority of his time. So it's time to be frank with the guy. ]

Listen, Tobio-chin. I'm pretty boring.

[ There's a light nudge against the other's arm with his phone to signal that Nazuna's done with it. ]

And I can't pretend that I'm any different from that. I'm more than happy to just go along with what you're into, y'know. I probably should read up on volleyball more... I used to play tennis before the podcast thing kicked off but those things aren't the same.

[ The idea of a morning race sounds even better than whatever Tobio might have expected from Nazuna. It's actually known to be more effective for volleyball players to sprint rather than jog, so in a way, racing would really help develop Tobio's reflexes on the court.

Huh, maybe this fake relationship thing will work well for him, after all. Maybe Nazuna can become one of his workout buddies?

While listening to Nazuna talk more about himself, Tobio slides his phone back into his pocket. He's surprised by Nazuna outright sharing that he (Nazuna) is boring... Nazuna knows who he's telling this to right now, right? When Tobio is off the court, he turns into one of the most boring people Nazuna will probably ever meet. In a way, they can probably use this to relate to one another, but Tobio really doubts that Nazuna is just as or even more boring than him. ]

Are you bored with yourself? [ He suddenly asks, curious, half-wondering if this is the reason why Nazuna took the deal in the first place. Is it because he thinks he has nothing better to do? ] A lot of people usually find me boring since all I do is talk about volleyball.

So if you're interested to learn more, I can teach you a few things. [ Imagine having a live Master Class with the number one setter in Japan. ] But you don't have to force yourself to learn about it.

[ The ends of his mouth quirk up as if he could laugh— are you bored with yourself? Perhaps this is a hint that this person is going to persistently surprise him. Nazuna can't imagine the question is supposed to be all that deep though it does pull along some weight. ]

You're a funny guy, Tobio-chin. I imagine trying to teach a newbie has to be really frustrating but I'm more than willing to take on whatever you're willing to give!

[ It's said without any malicious intent while Nazuna loosely crosses his arms over his chest. ]

But now I gotta ask you something! Are you bored with yourself?

[ Never mind that he didn't even answer the question. ]

You say other people are bored with you but does that really matter? You like volleyball, right? It's the thing that makes you happy, isn't it? As long as you're pleased with it then what should other people say about it?

[ And yet he catches onto something else. So he has to make sure to tack on one more thing. ]

... But you don't seem like the type who would be bothered by what people think. So you're already aware, yeah~?

[ He's a funny guy...? Tobio has to wonder if Nazuna means that sarcastically. Funny is not a usual label for him. He also belatedly wonders where the nickname came from, but... decides to let it slide. ]

[ Okay, he doesn't mean to word it like he thinks Nazuna is equivalent to a kid... Hopefully he won't be too offended. Tobio just has this tendency to say things without thinking.

He listens to Nazuna as the omega goes on a spiel about how Tobio shouldn't bother with what other people say. So long as he's doing what he loves, then what others say shouldn't matter. Tobio definitely gets that way of thinking, especially since he's never cared for what other people think as much as he cares for volleyball. ]

I'm aware, yeah. [ He gives a nod. ] You still didn't answer my question though. [ Yeah, sorry Nazuna, he caught on. ]

[ He perks up a little, ]

You teach kids?

[ Just goes to show a book can't be judged by its cover! This guy seemed like he'd take issue with kids if only because the PR people Nazuna met more or less described Tobio like one. Never mind his height and awkward demeanor but those aspects wouldn't make kids cry. Probably.

But this guy might as well have the intelligent of an innocent kid if he's so keen on Nazuna answering his question. So there's no going around it, is there? Nazuna puffs out his cheeks and clicks his tongue. ]

That's never been something I've thought about~? I don't have a second to feel that way, I guess. I mean... I just gotta focus on if I'm boring other people.

[ Is that a good enough answer?

Before he can run his mouth some more, his face scrunches up and his step falters. Judging by the scenery around them seemingly slowing, others are plenty aware of what his nose is catching onto. Further up ahead— ]

... Someone's having a bad day, huh?

I've taught kids. [ He corrects. And surprise, surprise, the whole thing also started out as a PR move. (His manager's a real hustler.) ]

[ Teaching kids wasn't easy for Tobio, especially at the beginning. Some kids kept crying just from looking at his face. But there were some that were interested enough in volleyball that could see past his 'scary' demeanor. Even if he had been reluctant in dealing with children, Tobio recognized their desire and willingness to learn. It was that drive that inspired him to go back a few more times to teach.

He's about to question why Nazuna would have to focus on whether or not he's boring to other people, until the smell of someone up ahead catches both of their attention.

A sweet, undeniable scent... one that belongs to an omega in heat slowly fills up Tobio's lungs and fogs his brain. What the— Why was he reacting this way?

He stumbles over nothing, but quickly catches himself before he can completely fall over. Shit. He's feeling warm all of a sudden. His legs shake from struggling to hold himself back. He recognizes all too well this feeling brewing inside of him. This omega's scent is... triggering Tobio's rut — which isn't supposed to come for another week?? ]

She smells really good... [ He mumbles while staring dazedly at the omega before them. It would be really bad for Tobio if anyone were to see him reacting like this. In the back of his mind, he can already hear his manager shouting in his ear to keep it in his pants. ]

Wh— !

[ His entire body whips in Tobio's direction with seeing him stumble out of the corner of his eye. While he would undoubtedly be in no position to catch him, Nazuna moves purely all out of reflex, throwing out a hand to find one of the taller man's forearms. Common sense and physics don't occur to him in this moment of panic, after all. They're simply fortunate that no one has to hit the pavement and Tobio keeps himself steady. Too bad that isn't enough for Nazuna to decide they're out of the woods. ]

Uh, hey~?

[ You can't just say that out loud!

He doesn't have it in him to berate him at this second especially when his own face is getting hot. Perhaps it's from secondhand embarrassment or the sweet smell toeing the line of being outright nauseating. Hell, he has zero desire to begin imagining how mortified the omega has to be feeling. A sinking sensation is threatening to keep him locked in place unless he takes the second to breathe in and do something. Anything.

Jaw clenched, Nazuna hurriedly loops an arm through Tobio's to begin hauling him off in the opposite direction. Lunch plans are possibly going to be scrapped but with a McDonald's on every other corner that's hardly a blip on the radar. He just needs to get this guy far away from the omega. Maybe he is going to end up losing his arm in the process and yet he'll be damned if he doesn't make an effort here. ]

[ Tobio barely registers Nazuna calling him out for what he's just said. The alpha's much too distracted by the delicious smell wafting from the omega nearby.

Side note: In general, Tobio isn't the type to know what's appropriate and not appropriate to say out loud; so Nazuna will probably learn that about him if he hasn't yet, and if he doesn't leave Tobio after this whole... situation they're in.

When he's suddenly hauled off in the opposite direction, farther and farther away from the omega in heat, Tobio growls under his breath but allows himself to get dragged away. As much as his instincts are compelling him to run after the omega, his human side manages to convince him of how wrong that would be.

Unfortunately for Tobio, the sudden encounter had sort of set off his rut, which leaves him feeling aroused as fuck. Thankfully, the rut is still at its early stages, so he's not completely out of his mind. Not yet, anyway. Nazuna can probably smell how aroused Tobio is and that momentarily worries the taller male; how his scent may cause the omega in Nazuna to react to him, which would get them in some form of trouble...

This is probably one of the worst first meetings they've both ever experienced.

Even when they're far enough, Tobio's still growling under his breath, clearly frustrated, and lips curved down in a deep scowl. ]

[ So, uh, he thought this guy had a reputation for being feral on the court not the damn street! While he's convinced himself to be open minded, Nazuna fully expected Tobio to be as composed as his appearance and is stupid for doing so. Nothing's gome sour yet but he's practically asking for them to steer in that direction.

After turning a corner onto a less busy sidewalk, he finally slows down but only lets go of his victim for a fleeting moment. Shit, he's trying to play it all by ear and be casual but he's panicking. It's clear now that this can't be easy. His lips curl as he tries to sort out all the variables with one of his own hands finding Tobio's. This isn't a death grip like before, fingers gently clasping and even offering a reassuring squeeze.

But now what?

There's no ignoring the one thing he can smell. It's not like this is going to magically go away. Perhaps Nazuna's dealt with the varying forms of repression but no way can he ask that of another person! What should he do? What can he do?

Wait. It's been a while since he's last said something, hasn't it? ]

Are you a virgin?

[ The words don't finish leaving his mouth before he regrets them but it's too late. He doesn't offer any elaboration, freezing in place. Out of all the things to come out of that hole in his face it just had to be that! ]

[ The relatively smaller fingers holding his hand, gently and reassuringly, feels nice. Tobio finds himself calming down despite how much his inner alpha is howling in distress from being so unprepared for this oncoming rut.

He should probably suggest heading home, except home is in Tokyo, and it's quite a long ride away. Maybe he can stay in a hotel? But that might garner unwanted attention. Fuck, maybe he should call his manager... But he doesn't feel like getting scolded by him right now.

In a way, it's genuinely a bit disheartening to see this shatter right through the stoical surface. This clearly spells it out for him that this person isn't comfortable. It only makes sense for him wanting to alleviate the other's distress. Right? Even if he can't do anything at all for him, Tobio's still holding onto his hand so he must do something.

After subconsciously licking his lips, Nazuna's mouth twists and he shakes his head. It's more at himself than Tobio, really, since what he says next is more or less agreeing with him. ]

Let's find a love hotel, okay? It's still the afternoon so we'll be able to find a cheaper rate if get moving.

[ Meaning he's going to resume carting the other's weight along. ]

[ Sometimes a protective brother was well more problem than it was worth. And while he'd been gracious enough to let her court Lady Lyonesse in relative peace before, now that they were both Heroic Spirits, he'd been just a tad... much. And it had definitely reached a head now that White Day was coming up. She stormed into his room, looking particularly cross. ]

What's this I hear about you fielding all of my White Day gifts!?

Gawain had just a moment before, been in merry wonder. Thinking well about the length of women he were to return gifts of plenty with. When suddenly his sister came storming into his room. With such vindication and ardent resolve - his stature changed to that of an endearingly over protective brother.

"Those within these halls of Chaldea are unworthy of your fancy, even if it is we are heroic spirits I cannot stand to see you resolute with someone no less than royalty -if at all." When did these overbearing tendencies start? Mordred would beg for them to end, but sadly he has become rather accustomed now to his new found over brotherly role. Something he very well wished he had done more during their time alive.

"It's... it's only White Day, brother," Gareth gave an exhausted groan, plopping herself down in a chair and rubbing at her temples.

"It's not as if I'm under any obligation to court any of these people, it's just a holiday tradition!"

A firm pout, "Although you are undoubtedly right in your statement, I cannot help but disagree. What if the likes of Lord Jason or Blackbeard have means to come and court you with gifts?"

Gawain did not care how White Day worked in present, just the whole air of it worried that the more riled up males undeserving of Orkney prosperity would come and try their hand on the most beloved Orkney child. He was not like this on Valentines day, no - because all women are valid.

Gareth gave a flat look in return.

"Please tell me you have more faith in my tastes than to assume I'd even entertain types like that..."

In truth, Blackbeard HAD made a few less than subtle attempts at earning her favor. Most of the time he just came off as pathetic. But she also remembered the side of him she'd met at the comic festival during that one summer, so she couldn't fully detest the man... but she definitely had no interest in going on a date with him.

Fervent was the worrisome and bothersome brother, "I do not doubt your tastes, it's their actions I worry over."

Maybe his over protectiveness came from the fact he did not forgive himself, would never forgive himself. That small memory in the back of his head, gnawed at him and he was not a man full of guilt that would wear on his skin like armor - Like Lancelot. No, he were a man who quietly held his feelings and fears so none would ever come to see it. Let it fester, quietly so that in moments where his anger could tear about and become a thriving terror. There, would linger his true feelings - memories of killing the other in the Camelot singularity before the one called Richard haunted him even now.

"Firstly, right now, I'm not even interested in seriously courting anyone," Gareth huffed again, sticking a finger in his chest and putting probably a bit too much strength into the poke.

"Secondly, even if I was, I'm 19." And thanks to the Throne of Heroes, she always could be, as a Heroic Spirit. "I'm well old enough to make my own decisions to that regard. And if I make a bad decision, you need to have some faith in my ability to correct it!"

The poke causes him to wiggle in place!! The other was very fierce in their rebuttal Gawain had to respect it.

"I've nothing but respect for you Gareth, you are the youngest of us and thusly the most beloved by us all. Our family. However, those harken by the throne of heroes are one of many with questionable ill morale then I would care to have liking too. I merely wish to see mine sibling to have the most enjoyable time while we are allowed shape on this mortal plane." Gawain is Pouting!!!

"Gawain... I'm not interested in courting at all right now," Gareth said after a long sigh.

"Lady Lyonesse... she's still in my thoughts. We may not have gotten very far in our own courting, but I still need time. So could you at least set these worries aside for the moment?"

Gawain nods his head promptly, understanding now how the other felt more clearly, "Please forgive your brother for assuming otherwise."

Considering he adapted to the, 'New Life? Open for dating now' notion rather easily to the point their Master and others seemed to shame him for it.

"Geeze... I'm glad you're here, but the amount of times we've needed to have a 'give me some time to adjust to things here' talk has been pretty big, hasn't it?" Gareth let out a sigh with a bit more levity in it, clicking her tongue and shaking her head.

"Just remember that even if I am your sister, I'm also an adult, a knight, and earned a right to stand on my own, from time to time, okay? I'll be fine, Gawain."

Certainly, the idea that Gareth is a Knight, was not a notion Gawain ever came to forget. The day of her Knighthood was one of reverence to Gawain as well as those of the Orkney isles. However, she would forever be - his little sister. The one he had seen at a young age, dallying in dresses fighting about wanting to hold swords like her big brothers. Eyes sparkling about, with such dainty little hands attempting to do far bigger things than they could hold - but that never stopped her. Never once did she ever stop attempting to do things that were much bigger than herself, and Gawain's heart would lurch of love for the other. As frankly, deep down. Gareth would always be the better - the BEST Knight of the Orkney Family.

Gawain could not help but feel, himself a certain way about being over protective of her.

Especially that same sister whom he adored so much - that he had done naught but fail her.

Time. The death of Pellinore, when he had ended the mans life for having taken their fathers.

Time. The death of their Mother.

Time. When he had- but a permanent memory that were of the singularity he should not recall- Killed her.

Time, Time, TIME, and time again. Gawain grimaced, he did not want to see the look of disappointment from Gareths face garnered toward him. No more of it, could his heart muster such a feat. How many mistakes could he manage, before Gareth felt he was not worthy of the sibling love they shared?

"My dearest sister, Gareth. No matter the age or manner of your making, you will always be my Little Sister." Gawain immediately, shoving all of what was the past behind him in that moment. Rallied his spirits and began furiously patting the others head. The locks of her hair scattering all about whilst the blacker colors poked out from betwixt the blondes, "Do not forget that."

She wanted to protest, on some superficial level. She didn't need to be reminded, after all, of their status with one another. It wasn't as if she could actually forget. But she felt it, in the weight of his hand in her head that... that wasn't really the matter, was it?

She felt a bit ashamed, to have scolded him so much for protecting her like that. Because this... this was what he meant to her, too. That comfort of "home", that they had with each other. Something that went beyond Orkney, beyond Camelot, and beyond Chaldea. She smile, bright and warm, just leaning into his touch, as she'd so often done before...

"I won't, Gawain... I won't... There will always be a place for you in my heart, and I'll always know to turn to you if I need you. I promise."

A gentle sigh escapes his lips, her words relax him slightly. However he could not bring himself from ruffling up the locks of gold upon his head. Sadly - he would have to. Less she make the roots of her hair feel tender, and so he refrains from bothering her as such. Collecting his hand to the side he offers her a soften tender look. A rare expression that he only affords to those he really cares for, "And I will find it within myself to be more conscious of your wants of freedom - however I cannot make any promises of course."

Back toward old behavior of course.

"I won't make you promise... but I know you're going to try," spoken with the sort of steel-clad faith Gareth could only truly have for Gawain. And, well, in Lancelot, too, so maybe that faith wasn't entirely wise, but she could never really dampen it.

No matter what happened... she was grateful he was there. Through any sibling bickering, through any battles ahead of them, she wouldn't want to face any of it without him. So that faith was going to be present, too, like a never weathering stone, tested against the ages.
