Trust is a fickle currency

Maybe you have a team, maybe you don't, but when it comes down to it, you're all in this together...
Plan. Put on your best charming face and rob them blind. Use your skills to steal art, money, never have to worry about your livelihood. Evade being caught, live the thrill of knowing you're in a precarious place, a hair's breadth from ruin. You can handle it. Are you an unrepentant crook or are you a reformed thief? Essentially: are you a threat or benevolent benefactor? You steal from the rich but do you keep it for yourself or give to the poor? Not all grifters can be emotionless monsters, after all.
• Top level your character. Include any details you might think are relevant.
• Or don't. As always, we're not the cops. Which is good, 'cause y'all are damn criminals.
• Reply to other people's top levels!
• Have fun!

and having a mentor like Selina would be good for her. My idea's just an outline and I'd love to plot it our further, it's actually a con AND a heist and goes something like: Selina's on a heist, runs into Gemini, gets overpowered and to avoid a nasty case of death (and her heist prize getting stolen) she agrees to help Gemini track down the stolen diamond, leading to the con scenario. Is that something you'd be interested in?]no subject

No doubt the contents of this room were why he'd been hired just to patrol this one wing every weeknight. Art! Who needed it? He'd much rather be at home watching the game with a can of cold beer, but the job paid well at least. Still whistling, he turned his back on the statue and made his way toward the door, pausing for a moment on the threshold. Was it just him or was he being watched?
[No worries, my health's not great and posting speed goes up and down as a result. Hope this works :)]

Perfectly choreographed, every step practiced.
She knows these halls, knows where all the goodies are. The Cat is not just a regular, Selina Kyle is one of the museum's biggest donors; she is deeply involved in supporting the arts. She has exclusive access to the museum's exhibits and she was eager to get a sneak peak at this particular collection. She's already made a shopping list. She navigates the museum's dreadfully outdated security with relative ease, slinking through the gallery, trying her best to ignore the siren call of some of the very tempting offerings... at least until she's secured what she's come for. It's just big enough that getting it out might be a little tricky.
She's got her eye on the prize and her prize is a bronze sculpture of an Egyptian cat. Just because she wants it. Just because of how much it's worth. Just because she can.
"Why hello there, beautiful," she smiles, the night vision goggles glowing in the darkness. "I told you I'd be back for you."
[ i am off to a GREAT start. i appreciate your patience. rl is crazy and i got a little bit distracted with another character this week, haha. ♥ ]

The first sign of trouble is when Selina takes her next step, or rather tries to, as it seems her boots are suddenly and inexplicably stuck fast to the tiled floor. The second is the darkly amused voice that seems to ring out from nowhere. "I just knew you weren't going to miss this exhibition." The voice is feminine and distinctly smug and really Gemini has every right to be, days of research, hours of patient waiting are what's let her get the drop on the Cat and now she's going to enjoy her moment.
"How about a hug?" A tentacle bulges up out of the floor, rapidly coiling around the Cat's legs and racing upward, seeking to wrap around as much of her as possible as quickly as possible. Catwoman is a dangerous adversary and Gemini knows to incapacitate her as quickly, in case of the likely event that the feline fatale has some nasty tricks up her sleeve.
[No worries, I don't mind waiting for a fantastic post like that :D]
fair warning, i haven't rped in weeks so i might be rusty!!
This one again, she thinks, more annoyed than she is surprise. Selina's time is a precious commodity and Gemini is wasting more and more of it. Whatever she's wasted of her own time, all that research and patience, is her own fault. She struggles and strains against the tentacle's constraint in what she can only imagine looks like something out of one of those weird Japanese comics -- wouldn't Mr. Security Guard be surprised to see this! -- and the mental image is just enough to distract her from the panic that hasn't yet settled in. She leaps across rooftops and brings a whip to gun fights, but she's never been very good with that feeling of being trapped.
"Lean in a little closer, let me see your face. I want to give you a little smooch." She shoots back defiantly, now kicking and scratching, anything to loosen Gemini's grip. Those fancy, schmancy claws cost her a lot of money and they're sharp. "Or maybe I'll just scoop your eyes right out from your skull, instead."
:o Doesn't seem rusty to me!
Those claws are sharp, enough that they slice into the tentacle in places, but when they do there's no spurt of blood, or indeed anything that could be described as human; just a strange rubbery blue goop that rapidly re-seals afterwards. Meanwhile the rubbery tentacle still surges upward unhindered, splitting at the cat's shoulders so as to ensnare both her arms and bind them tight to her sides.
Gemini's capable of constricting hard enough to reduce Selina to pulp, but while the thought is tempting it would entirely negate her plan. So she settles instead for compressing hard enough to hurt, making breathing more of a struggle than it has any right to be. Only once she's sure she has the cat fully trussed up does Gemini's newly reformed head weave into Selina's eye-line atop a spaghetti strand of neck sprouting off the coils containing her.
"Well you're welcome to try." She gives Selina an inhumanly wide smirk, the cat's struggles only increasing her smugness. "But I think it would be better for you if you listen to my offer, don't you think?" She drives that message home by flexing the coils around the cat's legs, exerting pressure that if it continues to build will snap the cat's kneecaps. That would be a pity, but she's sure Catwoman is smart enough to simmer down before that happens.
