Seth had waited, yes, but not in complete idleness. Though the room that had been prepared for her was gorgeous, it was still a room, and it still had four walls. It was with almost a childish glee that she awaited Queen Ming's return from her daily duties. Not only was Ming another immortal, but she was (or at least seemed to be) just as fascinated by Seth's stories of adventure as the pirate herself.

And when the food came she had been eager to dig in, but knew that it was proper to wait. Though a pirate she was, she could manage some manners for the Queen. So Seth had brushed off the servants, putting together the final preparations for their meal herself. She mixed them both drinks, setting their plates across from one another at the table.

Even though it would be time to go before she knew it, Seth would savor the time she had at the palace. Ming was a kind and fascinating woman; it was only a matter of time before she returned.
