My mother called me by pet names and nicknames a lot of the time. I don't associate my name with too many terrible things, but it's likely I'll never be able to truly be at ease with endearments like 'darling' and 'sweetheart' and especially 'little one'. I have thought about changing my surname, though, once I'm legally able to do so. I don't like the associate it has.
