"Pfft, you can critique. I can. Look at those hands. It's like they're wrestling with squid. Gentle, boys, gentle."

She held out both hands.

"Uggh, I just want to hug them both, wish them well, give them a few pointers and make sure someone's given them The Talk."

“Honestly, so do I.” Marie admitted. “It’s cute and innocent, but they got a long way to go. I wish them all the best.”

She puts the pen back in her purse, also frowning at it.

"But a woman talked to me, in the line for here. Older, grey hair? I didn't know the language, so she moved on. Just kinda patted my hand and left?"

"Well, at least it's not all awful things for us to want to yell at," she said. She reached into her utility belt and leaned up to the nearest wall - and with the piece of chalk she'd grabbed, she made a quick t-chart.

The entertained her to no end. "'Live hard, live fast, and y'all can fill in the rest.' Audience participation bonus right there."

Why yes Hawks, she sasses. It would be one of her natural talents after all. She looked like she was thinking as she stowed her sunglasses in one of her jacket pockets. "One Giant Panda coming up then. But in the event I'm wrong, I'll wait an see what they got. Maybe something I can sleep on."

She inspected his choice as the the machine started to spin up. "Not bad, but he looks like this ain't his first rodeo."

Now it was starting to pick up some speed and the lights lining the top and bottom of the ride started to flicker and flash in time to the loud hard rock music from some 80s band started to play. After about a minute the speed was enough to force everyone back against the slabs, in another thirty seconds the centrifugal force caused the the slabs to slide up.

Anna looked over at him, her mess of hair splayed out. "Having fun yet?"

Marie smiles a bit at the chart made. A little game for them.

“Here’s hoping there’s more cute coming up...”

"Most of it is. Most of it's cold reading." Lydia's tone was dry. "But under the wrong circumstances I can hear the future. Normally when a death is overwhelmingly likely, but it can be changed. Hearing or seeing the present is easier but still sucks."

She paused. "I wondered if the fortune teller here might be one of the two awakened banshees in Gotham I've not tracked down and who aren't on ADHD medication."

She paused, wincing. She really was entirely out of her depth here, and knowing it did not make it better.

"Ok, you're going to have to back up here. Why would banshees need medication? And what would it have to do with the mirror?"

"Do we have to bet, now?" She replied, tossing the chalk, idly.

"I think this means we have to bet, and I have to be the jerk who bets against cute, because someone got there first."

"To deal with the voices in our heads." Lydia shrugged. "Voices that come from actual ghosts and echoes, glad to find someone that can hear them. Most of us who awaken end up in institutions." Another shrug. "I'll want an escort through Arkham to find the ones there. And I'm not magically gifted which means if it's responding to me but not you it's about being a Banshee."

Marie grinned at that.

"Sorry, winner goes the spoils!" Marie replied. "Or something like that. I'm sure I got it wrong."

When Cliff suggested a carnival Jenny had practically jumped out of her seat. This wasn't their usual night out where they'd quibble over what film to see and then end up back at the field for dinner and the day's news. This was actually going somewhere neither of them went and that was very appealing to her.

So she'd dressed in a smart little pencil skirt and flat shoes, in case there were rides because she was not having her skirt fly up in her face and baring her unmentionables to be mentioned. Also it was more comfortable to walk in and less likely to get dirty since it was an old outfit she wasn't worried about things spilling and the like. She could always doll it up with a nice blouse a pin and maybe her good perfume.

They'd gotten to the fair in short order and her hand found his automatically. Lights and sounds and calliope music rang down the rows of games and food stands. In the far distance, there were a handful of rides and all of them the favorite spot of children screaming out in delight. She leaned into his shoulder to be heard. "This was a great idea." And pressed a kiss to his cheek.

[Well he seemed to get it, and it wouldn't take long for her to go by an icecream cone. Besides if he did wander off she'd probably be able to spot him.

After a few minutes, she returned carrying two waffle cones, one chocolate, and one vanilla. And she was pleasantly surprised he was still there. Well he knew how to sit and stay, maybe he could be trained.]

She nodded in agreement. "I know what you mean. I love them, they're great, but sometimes we just need a break from them."

[Kronk is decently trained, he's obedient at least and is also very nice smelling for a big oafish henchman, but... uh... so easily distracted. Anything food, small animal or shiny related and he's gone, usually mentally, sometimes physically.]

Uh... wow. They're both so great! [His massive hand hovers over the waffle cones.] Am I gonna go with chocolate, always delicious, or vanilla, a classic? [So hard!]

[Maybe she should have just gotten two of the same thing. If he was going to take too long though they'd start to melt in which case she'd take the vanilla and leave him with the chocolate since it was what he said first. She didn't really care for her hands to get sticky because he couldn't make a choice. Maybe she should have just done one of those popsicles.]

.. ...chocolate! [Maybe her expression kinda. Hinted at Kronk to get on with it. Either way, he takes it and starts eating. Mmmm. Ice cream AND funnel cake? Kronk's so happy he almost forgets Yzma's gonna kill him for getting lost.]

Woah, so good. You don't mind paying, you really don't? [Not like the big guy has any money. Yzma feeds and clothes him, that's about it.]

[Despite her complaints often, she really wasn't as bothered by everything as she pretended. Besides he was kind of a big kid.]

No, I don't mind. Charlie pays for everything most of the time, and she gives people a lot more. So this isn't a big deal.

Yeah, it's kinda... uh. A secret for her, but Yzma and I, we love to go on rollercoasters. Yzma loves 'em, it doesn't show on her face but she likes to go fast. [It was like a fun outing inbetween doing evil deeds... but then Kronk had to get lost. Yzma is probably having coffee on the opposite side of the fair.

Despite being so different, a love of going fast is the one thing the odd pair have in common.]

Okay, he hadn't expected it to be so loud for one thing. He winced slightly when he was forced back against the slab, struggling to adjust his wings a bit-- okay, that was better-- and then he yipped a bit when the slab moved up. Despite it all he found he was laughing, maybe a touch out of a sheer giddy adrenaline rush. He barely heard Anna talking, looking over with a wild grin!

"Holy shit!" He yelled back! "This is great!"
