He couldn't help a soft little huff of laughter at that. Not to mock, just because well- it was nice.
"A nice dream. I hope it comes true, one day. I once hoped- dreamed- that when I settled down to open a shop, I'd have a husband too. A family of my own. A husband and a bunch of animals count, right?"
He'd never really wanted children. Didn't think he'd be a good father. And maybe he was afraid that he'd turn into his own.
But a husband? Sure. He'd wanted that.
"These days though, I'd settle for a shop, and I'm content to be alone."
