Interspecies Love Meme

Vampires and humans. Angels and demons. Ghosts and the living. The idea of "opposites attracting" is hardly a new one, but with the rise in popularity of supernatural creatures, aliens, and other sentient beings beyond our human understanding, the forbidden romance trope has been injected a shot of fresh blood- sometimes quite literally.

This meme does just that, taking the whole "not meant for each other" thing to it's most logical extreme. Of course, it's not always angst and depression. These days, mermaids and bird-people can have their relationships in peace to some degree.

Rules

• Comment with your character, putting any preferences you have (ie, "humanoid characters only," F/M, etc). Also, be sure to note your character's "species" for others to reference (Name | Character | OTA | Human, ghost, mutant, alien, vampire, god, zombie-catgirl hybrid, etc).
• Reply to others. If your characters aren't different species, feel free to AU or anything else like that.
• Use the rng to determine your prompt.
• Also I didn't think I needed to say this, but be excellent to each other. Dick comments and anon bullying are not on.

1. Meeting: Did you know there were, I don't know, werewolves before this? Or maybe you thought all aliens were evil. Will this...thing change your perception?
2. Falling in Love: You know you're not the same, but your feelings don't care.
3. Self-Hate: Perhaps you're mad at the being you're in love with, yet you're more angry at yourself.
4. Can't Be Together: Whether for self-inflicted reasons or societal rules, you can't be in love with who your heart has chosen and it's putting a strain on you.
5. Pushing You Away: Things are getting too intense, and for both of your sake, you want to make friend/crush/lover hate you.
6. Beauty & the Beast: One of you is beautiful, the other hideous. Maybe, though, the beautiful one is ugly in the eyes of society, depending on where you live. Whatever the case is, you don't look the same.
7. Confession: Screw the rules, you're going to tell that sweet girl/guy/other how you feel! What can go wrong? Or this is something you've put a lot of thought into and you're scared, but you're going to do it.
8. First Time...or Not: Finally, the two of you are taking the next step and getting physical. It may go off without a hitch, depending on your...you know, or- OH GOD, HOW IS THAT GOING TO GO IN HERE. Wait, you have a...?
9. The Kinky Option: Hey, maybe being different will pay off. Think about it. A long tongue? Ghost powers? Sounds like it could be fun in the bedroom.
10. Prejudice: "What are you doing with that dirty monster?" "You know we can't be involved with humans!" "We don't take kindly to your type around here." Why can't people just leave you two be?
11. Facing Your Instinct: It's hard to be with someone when you want to suck their blood. Or eat their brains. Or possess them.
12. Because of Me: Your lover has been dragged into your fight or hurt by others of your kind. Now they're in the crossfire.
13. Standing Up For You: Hey, knock it off! I don't care what you think, he's perfect in my eyes.
14. You Don't Know You're Beautiful: The fluffy option where you're trying to make your loved one see just how much you care and how they're beautiful to you, no matter what.
15. Gifts: Show your affection with a gift from your culture.
16. Starting a Family: Can you even reproduce? Is it something you want to consider? Perhaps it's new ground to tread, so you'll have to be the first to think about it.

[Glad to hear that! I'm rusty with bloodborne but also it's Cool and thats what vaatividya is for :,) i spent this time refreshing myself so I could come up w ideas

so i came up with a few, playing off different aspects of kuja's canon origins.
since kuja's an alien in canon i was thinking he could be related to a Great One, being a sort of Nyarlathotep entity.
Or taking from the idea of "trying to revive a dead society", kuja could be something related to the pthumerians.
lastly, kuja could be something more mundane (hah), as a resulting experiment within the church.

Either way, I like the idea of Kuja having a hidden, horrific shape, sort of like Trance form but more body horror]

The thing is, he can see the tell-tale signs of her being one of them on her. Of course he can; he noticed not long after they first met, the way she seems to seep into the Umbra, always feeling like there's a halo of too much life half-stuck in another part of reality. He didn't know which; no spider, they have a distinct thread-like connection. No rat either; and with that, his best guess ends. He just has to figure that there are a lot more of their kind that he doesn't know about.

He also figured that it doesn't matter, in the end. Just apply some sanity to caution, and all will be well. He won't let supernatural strangeness get into the way of his love life finally getting somewhere. His brother, he's heard through the grapevine, is probably going to get married next year, and a kid's on the way - a bit young, if you ask Felix, but then his twin had always been rather forward on everything.

Just that apparently some people disagree. Felix still has no idea who they were, but... He seems pensive when Astrid comes into his shop this evening as he's closing up - they are planning to go out for food. Or maybe just get take-away and find some nice place to sit in. Felix doesn't swim in money, after all, and Astrid doesn't seem to, either. But now he's not so sure if hanging out in public is a good idea.

What was one day felt like an eternity in the best way. For all the revelations about himself and his own past he’d learned last night, much of the weight had settled through the following day. A day spent alone with the man who finally broke through the walls of crap around him and made true on that promise to trust him. If someone had told him years go he would find a man who he would stand beside without hesitation and trust implicitly, Dante would’ve scoffed at the very notion and called them crazy. No one would ever be “safe” around the Nephilim. When the people he was supposed to trust turned out to be nothing more than demon scum at every turn, the idea of ever believing someone’s words or actions about keeping him safe or wanting to be around him became a joke. It only made things even more obvious now that he knew about his past. His missing brother separated from him so long ago. His mother, murdered in front of his eyes. His father, banished forever in eternal torment. One night and a family of seven years was torn asunder and he was lost to the human world, memories sealed and hunted by the demons who wanted him dead. Like there was a reason to trust in that life.

But… then he met Chris, who ultimately became that reason. Crazy, almost, but undeniable. If Dante needed any proof about how much he came to care for the other man, he need look no further than yesterday.

Trapped within his trailer by the rain and the simple desire to say “screw it” to work and all that entailed. No fighting against demons, hunting down BOWs, or going after Cato Morgan. Just the two of them, spending time together while Dante absorbed the revelations about his life. He wasn’t one to break down or wallow, but Dante would’ve been lying if he said he hadn’t needed the care Chris gave him. It made facing today a hell of a lot easier than it would’ve been otherwise. Albeit, kind of left his trailer in one hell of a state… Perhaps it was a good thing they traded the frantic intimacy for heavier, slower things later on.

Dante rubbed the side of his head with the heel of his hand, other arm reached out and tugging down the blinds to check the world outside. Bright and sunny. Complete opposite of yesterday. “Looks like it’s going to be bright,” he murmured, slipping his hand off the blinds. A nice morning shower had done wonders. God, how many showers had they got yesterday? At least three. No complaints from him though. Getting to shower with Chris was a damn thrill and comfort. Sans the size. “Almost ready?”

Time to go meet Vergil and get some more answers.
