Sometimes all you need is a word to spark off an idea.

She misses him, every day.

His absence is made all the more stark by the occasional presence of the Force spirits of Luke and Leia, and the voices of the Jedi past that even now enter into her meditation. How can Ben be so completely gone, when so many others are with her?

She's taken to focusing on that void inside her, that place in her soul where Kylo Ren was and Ben should be, when she meditates. The spirits of the Jedi strengthen her, but reaching into the darkness to try to follow this intense bond she still feels even after his death is sapping that strength.

She can't keep doing it. She can't stop.

When Flea arrives, the forest fire has moved on. What is left behind is blackened earth, dead trees, a perfect stillness in the air, and in the midst of all of that a pack of wolves. There's six of them, mother, father and four yearlings. They have all been through the wringer - fur has been singed, paws have been burned as they treaded ground heated up by fire and stepped on sparks - but one of them has done worse than the rest. It's one of the yearlings, and the others have gathered around him, nudge him with their snouts, whine at him, trying to fix what's wrong, trying to figure out what it is.

What it is really isn't apparent from the outside - the issue is in his lungs, his airpipe, the wolf having breathed in too much hot air, too much dark smoke. Not enough to kill him immediately, but enough to kill him slowly, painfully.

Only one of the wolves notices the arrival - the female alpha of the back, a bit on the larger side for a wolf. She raises her head and looks over at Flea with unusually intelligent eyes. Today is a day full of the strangest occurrences, first the fire, then whatever that was, and now... that. It's hard to care much about the cat that is not a cat, not with what is happening to her son, but... It's still a strangeness on top of other strange things.

Though, maybe - she barks at the strange cat. If she is no regular cat, maybe she is here to help? There's been instances of strange-feeling wolves before who never were harm- and sometimes helpful. And sure, this is a strange-feeling cat, but...

[Ganymede prefers to visit Troy as little as possible. 'As little as possible' meaning just over a handful of times since the city fell, each of them so far apart the last visit could just as well not have happened. He can't help ending up on the hill, though, every now and then, wandering the width of it.

Pretty recently (well, by some manner of counting, anyway, it was a pretty long time ago by now), part of it was dug up. Ganymede walks along a bared wall of rough stone and recognizes nothing, but knows yet exactly where he would be standing if it was thousands of years ago.

There's the sun high in the sky, and the shadow the wall casts is so familiar he just has to stop, for a moment. Leaning back against it, too rough and worn, is a shock. What is here isn't what he's looking for.

He doesn't move on immediately though, letting the tourists walk past as he looks up and down the hard path. His gaze skips over the cat, uninterested - until he looks back, down, staring. Either that cat is very tolerant of people playing with it, for it's wearing a flower crown - it's the right time of year for it, late spring and warm and the grassy areas around are covered with wildflowers - or...

That's when he actually picks up on what the cat is.]

[It's not an accusation. It's hardly the cat's fault, what it's here for; it wouldn't even be Thanatos' fault, if he'd been the one to be present, but it's easier to be accusing of him. No, Ganymede just sighs while he slides down to squat, watching the white cat across the path, the nearest group of tourists having passed them, leaving the two of them alone for the moment.]

[ She never knows precisely whom she's here for. God usually tells her that's the magic of it all, but personally Flea thinks it's rather annoying. Missy Long-Legs has only provided her with place and estimated time today, no name and all Flea can do is show up and wait. For death to occur. Someone's death.

It's Paris, this time. Louvre, to be more exact. In her twenty years as a reaper, that's a first. The museum is full of tourists and art lovers and Flea knows this is how humans relax themselves, looking at their own creations, but she never really understood why, did she? Cats don't create. Cats have kittens and cats kill, to feed the kittens they've had. They don't paint pictures of themselves - or others, for that matter. They don't have time for that kind of self-indulgence.

Around her, nothing is happening as of yet. She sits down in front of a painting in a far-off corner, giving her a better view of the room. No one is reacting to the strange appearance of a cat inside the Louvre, but that's because they can't see her. She's only visible to the spirits she's guiding.

Or so she thought. While studying Child With Cat by someone named Renoir, she suddenly notices a woman entering the exhibit. She's dark-haired and probably beautiful by human standards, Flea has learned to judge these things by now, but she also looks straight at her. Like she can see her.
