She was deposited, unceremoniously at the home address Wade had given someone once upon a time. The older blind woman who answered the door was not entirely thrilled at the prospect of looking after her while she waited for Wade to “Come get this child.”

Leia wasn’t exactly thrilled about it herself, but there were lots of things to look at. Her own things were just in one backpack over her shoulder but the small home was filled with strange and bizarre objects. And guns. A lot of guns. And all sorts of knives, the older woman, Al as she introduced herself, didn’t seem to mind Leia picking them up. She was fascinating by how light shone across the edge of the blade. She would never have been allowed to play with these back home!

Though, she supposed this was home now. How she wasn’t even sure, she’d never even heard of a Mr. Deadpool before, but apparently he was her new guardian so here she was. She hoped he was nice though. What more could a child want than a nice dad?

Maybe a nice dad who didn’t wait two days to come pick her up? Where was he?

Oh sweet child that should not be his, Daddy is very sorry. Deadpool had been busy shooting up a very nasty man somewhere in Los Angeles. He forgot the name of the neighborhood. He did however remember the call from Al!

Who leaves him a kid? Him? Deadpool. This seems like a bad idea.

"Oh honey, I'm hom~e," he half sings as he all but kicks the door in two days later. He had gotten a teddy bear on the way here. It seemed like a good idea at the time but maybe he should have waited until his leg finished growing back? Nah, it was fine.

"I hear we have spawned." That's not how this works at all. He's pretty sure he should try to be more PG-13 rated. Okay. If he now has a kid he'll save the swears for important dates. Maybe.

That…was him? Leia looked up, dark eyes huge and skeptical. She thought he might have been Zabrak at first glance, but realized he was wearing a mask and suit for the red and black coloration.

“Mr. Deadpool? Pleased to meet you, sir. I am Princess Leia Organa.” She offered a curtsy as she'd been trained to do, her name was formal but most people just called her Princess or Lelila. She looked up at him, still thinking this was a mistake, he couldn’t be the man was to be her new guardian.

She handed him a letter, printed on a primitive flimsy of wood pulp because that was the way things were done here. It explained how she came to be in his custody and that all the wishes for her good care and raising were with him, oh and the generous stipend from the Alderaanian government. Cha-ching.

Leia remained unconvinced, but did look at the teddy bear. “Is that for me?”

On occasion pilots really do think that they won't get shot down. This leads them to doing really foolish things. Such as putting their favorite commanding officer as their next of kin. It was supposed to be a bit of a joke.

As it turned out bureaucracy didn't play around.

Congratulations Admiral, it's an equally shocked nine year old. She's only mad that her brother isn't still alive so that she can yell at him for being impulsive again. It was just like him.

When Thrawn got the message from Imperial bureaucracy, he thought it was someone making an attempt to pull his leg, or a very poor mix-up, and it was just something he was going to have to go clear up. Perhaps there's an Imperial with a similar name or a clerk had gotten lazy on the job.

But, going down to the planet and seeing that he was indeed named next of kin for one of his pilots, that's quite shocking. He even tries explaining that the man likely meant it in jest, not seriously expecting to fall in battle. He's told in no uncertain terms that the child is legally his now.

"Indeed," Thrawn regards the child. He planned on only needing the afternoon to get this sorted out, but now he's thinking it might be a while before he goes back on board the Chimaera.

"This may complicate matters."
