[ let's call it a powerplay. the problem with Ikebukuro is how much of it hasn't been consolidated: too many little bousouzoku gangs running around, too many stray giants (Heiwajima Shizuo, for one) casually dominating the streets just by breathing.

it's a clean-up act. Dollars have nothing but numbers on their side: numbers—and namelessness. if the Blue Squares. all they have to do is iron out the opposition. it's all little things, really: Dollars raising the rent on undesirable key figures. Dollars starting rumors against this person, or that one, until they change their behavior or surrender an item or simply move away. Dollars turning away business just to get those filthy gang members off their streets. the Dollars have a support system, and with the Blue Squares on-guard, it's safer to be with them than it's ever been. it's all so necessary.

Naturally, a few twisted syllables later only invites a full-blown portal into the underworld, out of which spill an army of gnarled, snarling monsters of all shapes and sizes.]

[She could never regret. It was exactly what she wanted, what she asked for, what she wished for with all the power she'd gained from Metalia, put to use to bring this about. The demon is good about granting wishes. It gets its return.

So of course Ami doesn't regret it, she's queen of the world! Or at least the world of school.

But it gets a little tiring to keep up sometimes, more so than studying. And she's started to have to hide things before they get broken by the enthusiastic hands of two dozen girls handling them and exclaiming over them at lunch.

So when the door closes and it's just her and Ishida finally, the look on her face could almost be called relieved.]
