( they meet on a clear day. bright skies, sunkissed skin. phryne's in her adventurer's gear, looking not unlike miss earhart herself, newly come from a plane she'd just put down in the bay. cheery, despite it. she survived! fancy that. she'll have to repay poor mr. carnahan for the loan of his battered old camel, though, even if the stall was entirely out of her hands.

ginia is rather less polished, but not in any roguish way. more... a sculpture of some skill that has yet to be fully freed from marble. phryne supposes she is a sight, a lone woman sailing gamely over the water and then walking away unscathed from the crash, but it was kind of her to come over to ensure she's all right, even if communication took a little more effort than she's used to. goodness, she'd learned asl with some of the boys over in the trenches when they'd lost their hearing for good, but she's been out of practice this last decade!

but as to ginia herself — phryne likes her immensely, immediately.

it's rather why she invites her to her house in the days that follow. perhaps it's also why they take to having long walks in the countryside together, and it's certainly why they stop in the midst of one of those quaint little lanes with a maelstrom of golden leaves all around and phryne gives her a smile. )
