hidden relationship—

hidden relationship;

The fact that you're in a relationship with this person isn't public knowledge. Actually, no one knows about it except for the people involved. Maybe you guys are just private like that; on the other hand, it may be a necessity to keep things a secret from others. Maybe you're both team mates, and others on the team would give you grief, or you're not supposed to be dating, or you're not the type to usually date and you're only testing the waters. Perhaps it's the combination of you two, possibly an odd couple, that would bring some controversy or some teasing. Or, you know, you could not want to deal with friends and relatives being busybodies. Your reasons are your own.

Are you content with stealing moments to be together as a couple? Do you want to make your relationship known and the fact that you can't drives you batty? Remember, there are lots of benefits to dating in secret. You can be yourselves completely, away from prying eyes, and get to know each other better as potential longterm romantic partners. In a way, it's ideal.

...still, do you ever wish you could scream from the rooftops how much you care for your significant other?

( there are times when alucard feels like putting his fist right through trevor — and not in the good way, if you're into that sort of thing. usually it's when he's running off at the mouth, leaking like a sieve that has no stopper. which is, unfortunately, all too often. trevor never really learned (or perhaps he just isn't one to care? alucard doesn't know and doesn't care enough to debate it with himself or to bother asking) how to: a.) have a proper conversation, and b.) read the room and know when to shut his bloody mouth.

that's why they argue.

that's also why alucard loves shutting him up in other ways. (though, rest assured, the violent ones are pretty fun, too.)

as much as he'd like him to stop any incessant nattering, he also doesn't feel like giving into him just yet. it's easy for a creatin to not care one iota about clothing, but there's history in certain things. alucard doesn't exactly own troves of personal effects — not after how things went with his parents and his father went very well off the deep end. but, that is neither here nor there and certainly not something alucard wants to get into. humans are annoying and have no grasp of anything until it's too late.

anyway.

he remains defiant and doesn't move any closer, though he doesn't shift away, either. if trevor wants something, he's going to have to work for it. seems bitch mode has been activated. )

Not everyone hates vampires. ( many do, though. even if the majority of the vampire population keeps to themselves, but there's always the ones who are louder than others and make things harder on everyone else. he sniffs, frowns. ) That aside, I'm not pouting, more annoyed at your obvious disregard for my personal effects. We can't all feel our best in ( he lifts a hand that slips beneath the hem of trevor's shirt, his nail skims over his skin as the shirt bunches up against the palm of his hand, ) filthy clothes that haven't been washed in a month.

Keeping a relationship on the downlow was so much easier when you both had the ability to climb walls and jump distances farther than your usual baseline human. Granted, there was no way Izumo could match what Peter did, not by a long stretch. Ninja he was, but only minorly talented.

So he was perched on the roof of an abandoned car-park, watching the scarlet sunset, and waiting for Peter to get a free moment. The life of a superhero kid was an unpredictable one, and while Izumo wasn't always in town himself and thus impatient for every moment he could get, well, he understood. Some people had morals, the need to do good and be a hero. He wasn't one of those, and he never would be, but he'd seen it enough to understand that it wasn't a lack of love or caring, it was a dedication to a higher calling.

So he'd texted a time and a place and settled in to wait, watching the sky and feeling the cool breeze, idly flicking chunks of worn gravel at pigeons when they got too close.

To be fair, sometimes Peter himself wonders if he's really cut out for this. He's sacrificed a lot for his superheroing, and he's tried a time or two to retire. Emphasis on tried... because when it comes down to it, he can't ignore when the city needs him. It is more than just crime, because he knows the NYPD does what they can. But sooner or later, there always comes a threat that he can't ignore. And the weight of responsibility just gets heavier, the longer he ignores it.

He might not be cut out for it, but he can't walk away from it. He just needs to figure out how to be both Spider-Man and Peter Parker, which turns out to be pretty difficult.

Not to say he isn't trying. It took him awhile to even fathom the possibility of seeing someone, and by the time he'd been willing to consider it — well, turns out it isn't easy to connect with people with a huge secret looming between you. Especially when you can't explain why you don't make it to half the meet ups you've agreed to, and always have some bizarre set of bruises and injuries and the old "I feel off my skateboard... and then down some stairs" excuse really only worked about 2 or 3 times on the same person before they started to get doubtful.

Peter is not sure how chance landed his life adjacent to Izumo. They're of two different worlds, and their time intersects so rarely... but the temptation of being understood and leaving all the secrets at the door in lieu of time with someone who understands? Peter makes time. He's more than just a superhero and as easily as he forgets it, sometimes he's selfish enough to refuse to ignore what he wants. Even if he had to swing across half the city to do it.

There's no surprising someone like Izumo — something they have in common, really. So when he crawls up the side of the building, there is no attempt to be sneaky about it. No, he scrabbles up the side and sits on the ledge and catches his breath. It's really attractive, honestly, almost as attractive as his hood hair when he pulls it off. Peter fluffs it with a hand in attempts to correct it and it helps by about -30.56%.

"Hey," he says, serious tone absolutely betrayed by the smile on his face. "Those are citizens of New York City." Despite Peter's attempts to stand up for them, the pigeons weren't doing themselves any favors, trying to eat the pebbles as if they could possibly be food.

Izumo snorts, watching Peter, admiring the lean curves of his body and honestly enjoying both the helmet hair and the attempt at fixing it: it's adorable. "They're snacks on the wing," he retorts, though he's well aware the US doesn't go in much for eating pigeon. Pity, they're really good. "Having a busy day, mister hero?"

He gets to his feet and pads over: despite his habit of wearing steel-toed combat boots, he moves noiselessly, lightly. He's not dressed for anything fancy today, just in jeans and a grey T-shirt with a faded band logo on it, the kanji almost white and barely readable. Hands in his pockets, he stops in front of Peter and grins at him.

( trust that there are always going to be instances in which either or both of them would rather throw hands than anything else — but that's just come to be part of the charm of their rapport, how they both push and enable one another into slinking past those boundaries and into triggering territory.

that's how they've always been, it's how they're always going to be, trevor has long since realized that and he's fine with it, because what good is a bloody vampire if you can't have a little fun with him every once in a while?

he can never be bothered to read a room, or to keep from running his mouth to the point of it getting him into trouble but it's never the sort of thing that he can't get himself out of, never the sort of thing that he hadn't wanted in a way from the start, to get the blood pumping and make him remember why he does this kind of bullshit to begin with.

to break up the monotony of it. life. between one drink and the next, when he's mostly sober, or at least closer to that instead of bordering on blackout. he needs reminders.

alucard is one of those, and a good one.

even if he'll never come close to admitting that sort of thing out loud. wouldn't want to give the bastard anything to hold over his head that he doesn't already have in spades.

he hums in the back of his throat — and it's more of a purr, really, low and deep, rumbling as his gaze dips to take in the way that hand slips beneath his shirt, bunches in the fabric, and he presses into it just a little bit, the tiniest bit. always pushing those boundaries.

because if alucard doesn't rise to him immediately, he has no choice but to leave him no other options.
) Last week, I'll have you know. ( was when he washed this last, so fuck you, you prissy bitch. ) Or maybe the week before … can't remember. ( it's all just for show, because of the way alucard's expression wrinkles at the implication, and he delights in it every single goddamn time. ) Point is, you are pouting, whether or not you want to pretend you aren't. ( a beat.

and he just sliiides down into his lap like he belongs there. hello, hipster sloot, how u doin.
) What's it gonna take to get you to stop?

"Maybe somewhere in Soho," Peter notes skeptically. Pigeon can't be that much different than quail or squab or whatever else fancy people like to cook in unusual ways, that said, he'd take regular old chicken any day. Or a hot dog, over even that. The meat was just as questionable, but far more delicious.

It's easy to seem underdressed when Peter has to show up in a spider-suit. Really would take effort to overdo him. And he kinda digs the casual look, truth be told, his glance a little more sheepish but impossible to not notice all the same. "When'd you get in town?" It doesn't feel like their relationship is long distance but maybe it technically is. Peter still has a hard time going as far as the Hamptons and Izumo goes... well, more places than Peter can keep up with, though he likes to ask and imagine what it might be like to travel that far.

“Last night.” Izumo pauses, tips his head to one side. His bangs shift, showing a hint of the eye hidden behind them. “Well. This morning I guess is more accurate?”

Well, long enough to have gotten a few hours of sleep before the sun got up again. He slips his hands out of his pockets and holds out his hands, taking another step closer, into Peter’s personal space. “I get a hug, right? Came all the way from Europe for one, yanno, sexy.”

Peter winces in commiseration of a potential red eye, though truth be told he is more likely to be awake in the little hours of the night than early in the morning. The misery is truly in the fact crime doesn't observe Spider-Man's bedtime, so he often has to crawl out of bed to crawl back onto the streets. Or, walls, to be more accurate.

If there is one thing Peter cannot tolerate, it is baldfaced compliments. He gets about as sheepish as an entire flock. He could maybe pretend the pink in his expression is from the wallcrawling, or the wind from the rooftop, but, it is most assuredly not. So instead of stammering over it, he just avoids responding entirely. A foolproof strategy.

"Really? Just for a hug?" Peter has never been a hugger, he always reads it wrong and his arms go all wonky it's just awkward. Not to say he's entirely opposed to the idea of hugging his boyfriend — it's his exception to the rule, that and his aunt — but that isn't his idea of a greeting, either. "Long way for a hug," he muses, finally pushing off the wall to close the distance for not a hug, but a kiss. He uses a hand at the back of Izumo's neck to make sure it goes where he wants it to. It's ridiculous how he finds it less awkward to plant one on someone than try and sort out where his arms should go in a hug, but that's what Izumo signed up for. A kiss definitely more worthy of the miles he put in, Peter reasons, that's his excuse.

Though, maybe he doesn't need one — he really likes kissing Izumo. He's a little shorter and there's something endearing about having to dip down to kiss him, how it brings them close out of necessity just to make the gesture happen.

Izumo leans up on his toes for an eager kiss, happy to get it. He wraps his arms around Peter's lean body, hands sliding up the arch of Peter's back, pressing their bodies together. A kiss is a hell of a lot better than a hug: sex might be even better, but he'll take what he can get. Izumo teases the top ball of his tongue piercing along the curve of Peter's lip, before delving into the kiss with eager hunger.

So that spider suit isn't the most comfortable thing so snuggle up with, but Izumo doesn't care, arching against him.

Okay, well, sex on a still fairly public roof with his spider-suit on is probably not happening, but, a kiss is easy. It's very likely that looking at him, nobody would suspect — he is a little distant, he keeps to himself, and seems to prefer not to touch, most of the time. But given the opportunity? Peter is incredibly affectionate, if only with the people he cares about. It is a matter of lacking people he's comfortable with more than a lack of interest in being close to someone.

He smiles against the tease of metal (he's never kissed someone with a piercing before, but Izumo has taught him that he definitely likes it), but it doesn't last long enough to detract from the kiss. It's not hard but it is eager. It says things that don't come out as easily in words, though, it's impossible to not say them, after he needs a breath. "I missed you," Peter mumbles, not even bothering to pull away much. Maybe in a second.

Izumo hides the wince: gods but for all he's tried to be careful, Peter's attached and sooner or later, despite his care, Izumo's going to break that lonely heart. It always happens, every damn time, because mercenary for hire doesn't lend itself to steady relationships, and being a living weapon doesn't leave you much heart to give. Usually he avoids long-term relationships, prefers one-night-stands, but he thought, maybe, he could juggle an on-again, off-again kind of thing with Peter, cute and funny and kind-hearted. Maybe he was wrong.

Rather than answer immediately, Izumo kisses him again, quick and hard. Only then does he say, words feathering across Peter's lips: "Sorry."

Not sorry enough to quit his dayjob, but he was raised as a ninja and he knows he'll die as one. Maybe one day he'll live to retire, but he doubts it.

"Good news, though. Got some off time. Gonna be around for a week or so." And a small mission, but that's nothing Peter needs to be concerned with: a quick blackmail mission, a night's worth of work, and until then Izumo's going to make up (and make out) with Peter.

[personal profile] webdesigned 2019-07-14 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
In the back of his head, Peter knows it's a situation that's bound to leave him aching. He cares about people easily enough he'll sacrifice his health and happiness to save a stranger. And while he's determined not to get in too deep that he'll drown, it's just not possible for him not to get at least a little attached. Yeah, one day it'll be over and it is really going to suck — but, as long as it's over on their terms and not tragic ones, he'll be okay.

There's no way to manage him not missing someone he cares about, though, even if they were just friends and not friends with really extended benefits.

Peter shrugs off the apology easily. He doesn't need one. "Don't worry about it." He's not going to hold it against him, Izumo has never held being late to a meetup or not even making it because of spidering around the city. Still, that said, the idea of having him around for a week is not one he'll argue about. "Oh yeah? Got any plans?" The kiss he blocks the answer with is incredibly leading, as in he'd be a great thing to get done on Izumo's trip to the city.

Izumo hums happily into the kiss, returning it just as eagerly, and one hand stays splayed between Peter's shoulderblades but the other slides down his back until he reaches that very, very fit ass and gets in a good grope. Oh yes, doing Peter as many times as possible is on the list, for sure. Absently he wonders if they could put out a news report: Spiderman needs a vacation, all criminals please take a freakin' break.

Well, it'll never happen, but he'll take what he can get.

"You remember where my place is? Or think your auntie would mind if I crashed on your couch?" Izumo's grin and tone is wicked, because it definitely wouldn't be the couch he'd be sleeping on. And yes he would eventually let Peter sleep, super-hero-ing was tough, but orgasms were an excellent sleep-aide.

It would be nice if he could put in his notice and have a few weeks to himself. Crime really doesn't work that way, unfortunately, and the goons that keep dragging weaponry tech out of the bowels of Oscorp didn't work that way, either. If anyone would run a story about Spider-Man going on vacation things would honestly just get worse. It was better to try and snag time where they could, and... well, maybe he would leave the little things to the NYPD for the next few days.

In street clothes, perhaps the baldfaced grope might have made Peter a little embarrassed. It is a lot harder to be embarrassed in skintight red and blue spandex. The hug he'd teased Izumo about is replaced by his hands dropping between them to find Izumo's hips to hold them together.

"She wouldn't, but, surprise — I have a place now." It's not exactly nice, a studio at the edge of Brooklyn and his kitchen sink is also his bathroom sink, but hey. It is at least removed enough from his aunt that Peter won't have to worry about her accidentally listening in on his sex life.

Izumo laughs, bright and pleased. "You do? Moving up in the world, I see," he declares, and it's only a little teasing. It's tough to move out and make it on your own, and Peter's not exactly making bang bucks at his legitimate job. "So then, can I crash on your couch? I'll buy you dinner."

They both know his ability to cook is limited: he mainly thrives on takeout and mooching off others.
