"Being polite won't get you answers," Garrett said with a carefree sort of shrug. He didn't mind being asked questions, he sure was in the habit of asking many of them himself. And since he was under no obligation to actually give any answers here unless he felt like it, it bothered him even less.

"And we wouldn't want to be making a mess, no. A guy can get in trouble over that."

Would, in fact, if word got out that the mess was his fault. And word always seemed to get out one way or another. He did not want Demetri tracking his ass, that was for sure.
