[[ooc: Works for me :P

OMG I THOUGHT IT WAS OMID AND CHRISTA TBH. Lmao dude I assumed they left because I didn't give the right responses for them to hang around. I wonder if that's the only ending... Ugh. SO MESSED UUUUP. Dat game. ...Need to replay haha.]]

[There's silence for a while, long enough that Daryl's started to think that maybe he is imagining things. It wouldn't be a stretch, and he'd probably blame it on not having been out here for a while (though that's not exactly true and he knows it; how long does it take to recover from chasing ghosts in the woods? The world may never know...) or being less rested than is strictly safe these days... But then he hears it again, unmistakable movement, though it's very faint and he has to strain to hear it...

And then there's... A child. A girl, a little girl with a gun pointed right at him stepping out from behind the damn tree. One would think that a person's first instinct when faced with a child would be to maybe lower his own weapon- and that would certainly have been the case before the world went to hell- but Daryl isn't about to do that, not immediately, anyway. For all he knows this could be a setup, he doesn't know this kid, doesn't know the area, either- he could have walked right into that asshole Randall's group, or worse...

No, that crossbow's staying right where it is until he gets a good look at her. If she was gonna shoot him she'd have done it already, he knows this and he's using this time to let anyone who may or may not be watching think they've got him too scared to move. He takes stock of the area around her first, watching for blurs in the distance, things that look out of place, anything he may have missed on his way over here. Finding nothing, he narrows his eyes and focuses on the child.

She looks... Dirty. Dirty and tired and, he can't help but notice, absolutely terrified. The way she's holding that gun, her body language, the look on her face... Shit, she looks so young, even younger than--

And maybe he'll regret it, maybe it'll end up being the mistake that gets his sorry ass killed... But by god he's lowering that crossbow slowly, carefully, because holding kids at gunpoint (arrowpoint?) isn't who he is.]

Easy, take it easy. [He's keeping his voice as calm as possible; he really doesn't think this kid's gonna shoot him, but... You can never be too careful.] Ain't gonna hurt you.
