Grooming is an important part of many species' rituals. It keeps them clean, healthy, and content. And a good bath? It can change the whole tone of a day from terrible to relaxed and blissful. But nudity is sometimes viewed as a weakness - and it is almost always sexualized - so bathing is often kept a private matter. If you do share these moments with someone, they're almost always a significant other or a sexual partner. Like you're doing now. Whether it be after a battle or after sex (or before sex, even), the two of you are going to get clean. Be sure to help each other out with that, won't you? After all, there are places on the back that just can't be reached... [ It'd been quite the stretch of a day- not that Shirou ever seemed to mind. Getting out of the house from time to time was nice too, especially when being under his own roof for so long tended to get dangerous. Being the only guy at the Emiya residence, it wasn't good for his heart having so many girls residing here.

So, after a long day of working overtime for Neko, carrying shipments across the city and keeping Tohsaka's mansion clean with the others, he'd still promised to challenge himself with new cultures of cuisine. Which was why tonight was an experiment, albeit a successful surprise for everyone. Including Rider who seemed thoroughly thrilled with the effort placed in by the young magus. A full-course French menu, complete with the likes of soupe à l’oignon, cassoulet, beef bourguignon & chocolate soufflé for dessert. It was no surprise that this was meant for Marie, something to remind her of her homeland.

She was always bright and chipper. But seeing her so happy, the smile on her face was something he wouldn't forget anytime soon. After cleaning up and doing some last minute training in the dojo, Shirou returned to take an evening bath. The day had started earlier than usual for him, and between stressing every little detail in tonight's meal and his work, soaking his aching muscles was a stellar plan. That is...until he opened the door on the bathing Marie Antoinette. ]

[ If anyone asked Emiya Shirou how it came down to the two of them bathing together, best of luck to anyone attempting to get that straight answer out of him. Details aside, Shirou swallowed that lump in his throat as he sat behind Marie, gently threading his fingers through her long locks of hair with shampoo. He did well to keep his heart from pounding like mad in his chest, having calmed down from the initial embarrassment of walking in on the completely nude yet captivating queen. Rather, as well as someone like Shirou could calm down, being around her.

Still, he was getting used to it as he caressed the long ends of hair. ]

[ It had been a while since Marie claimed Shirou's house as her own, using her nobility as a self-granted pass to treat the place as if she'd been living in there for years and then some. Since then, seeing her float around the guy stopped being weird and became a habit, no matter which other girls were vying for his attention. The bright smile on her face was never denied to anyone, because she loves them all. Shirou just happens to be special, in some way or another.

She knows the day hadn't been easy on him, but the french dishes she found for dinner was a lovely surprise for her. It wasn't expected and it swelled her heart far beyond capacity, happiness radiating from her very being the whole time. Shirou went out of his way to learn the cuisine of her home country, and the food even tasted like it was from back then, bringing memories of when she was still the Queen of France, revered and adored by her people.

A tear or two might have descended her cheeks, but she quickly wiped them off, enjoying the rest of the dinner before she decided to take a relaxing bath to recollect her thoughts in peace and quiet. What a pleasant, yet nostalgic turn of events...

That's when Shirou appeared, shortly after she dipped her feet into the bath tub. And Marie quickly figured a reward for the joyful eventing was due for this man she's smitten with.

So here they are, bathing together, as the Rider is allowing Shirou to get shampoo in her hair. No one was allowed to touch her hair except the maids at Versailles. He is now privileged by her own will. Somehow it makes her feel giddy on the inside, like the touch is more intimate than it actually is. It's just hair, but she can't help it, a blush spreading over her tender features. Good thing her back is turned from him, hiding away her actual embarrassment... although the tip of her ears are also turning red, little by little. She'll mask it with a giggle erupting from her bare chest. ]

Thank you for taking care of my hair. Sometimes it's hard to manage by myself.

[ Shirou wasn't so certain if he could handle seeing her from the front again without going crazy. Although she was once the Queen of France, she was less a Servant to him so much as a young girl around his age, especially right now as his fingers thread through her beautiful hair. She'd managed to captivate the hearts of everyone else under the roof. Not to mention the attention she drew whenever they would go out together. Getting to know Marie better was a pleasant memory, even if her affection had a tendency to get him flustered more often than not.

But with a girl as sweet yet charismatic as she was, how could he ever deny her? It was endearing. He may have been no maid, but he was still housewife material. ]

I'll bet. With how long it is, [ Shirou remarks as he takes the fashioned wooden bucket resting on the edge of the tub. Once he's filled it with the warm yet slightly aromatic bathwater, he gently lifts a considerate portion of her hair up that's been scrubbed through with shampoo. He pours the water down the length of her hair before letting it fall back. This was the first time he'd seen her hair undone, usually set up in a pair of twintails that would give Tohsaka's a run for her money. ] Still, you're very nice—

A-Ah, your hair's very nice...! [ Both statements were technically correct. At first, Shirou attempted to sit cross-legged beneath the water, but found that he couldn't keep his balance this way. He'd resigned himself to sitting properly early on behind Marie, with the Queen seated between his legs but not too dangerously close. The redhead steels his composure once more as he gets to work on another portion of her hair. His touch is firm, but he never pulls once as he starts from the tips, working his way up and closer to her head. ] How's that feel?

[ The battle of Winterfell, that some are already dubbing the "Longest Night", is finally over, and Brienne feels as if she will never again be truly clean. The dirt, soot and blood covering her doesn't feel like mere filth, it's like a second skin made of pure death.

Sinking into water so hot that it's almost scalding is a blessed relief, though she doesn't have long to enjoy it before she looks up to find that she has company.

Gods, not again...

Sandor Clegane. Admittedly a more disturbing bath companion than Jaime was when she was last in a situation like this, not because of his appearance but because she never bit a piece of Jaime's ear off, and he was also quite feeble at the time.

She sinks down as far as she can without dipping her head under the surface in order to preserve some small amount of modesty, hoping that he'll realise that this is not a good time for him to take his bath and just leave. ]
