She really isn't, but it's that aspect to her that makes her... really interesting, and all the stereotypical 'good at her job', 'exceptional', 'unique', yadda yadda. There are ways that most of the people on the team are unlike most people, but in her case it seems like a different set of unlikes than some of the others who overlap a bit more.
Of course he's open to trying - he's oblivious and a dick but he's not actually a terrible person who would make someone else freeze because they worried him.
