So, as it often happens, someone was sent to kill her. This one was new though. A skilled but newer recruit. Or maybe older recruit, either way it wasn't someone she recognized.

Either he's very bad at his job or didn't take his shot when he had it. That gave her the opportunity to get the drop on him, while he didn't go down easy she eventually was able to knock him out.

Now, she has unconscious would-be assassin cuffed to a cot in her hideout. He has a blanket on but she removed his clothes to get at some of the wounds she inflicted and dress them. Now she sits over at her make shift desk doing something on her computer while she waits for him to wake up.

He didn't take the shot.

Which was pretty fucking stupid, all things considered. Michael then Percy screaming in his ear, rifle under his hands, Clint wondering, vaguely, if this would feel any better if it was string and arrow rather than trigger and bullet. But, no. Probably not.

He slipped the earpiece out. He didn't take the shot. Because something was wrong, and even when Clint is 100% loyal, he's not 100% ignorant.

Pretty stupid, though, because she goes after him and she gets him and now he's waking up with his wrists definitely cuffed to the frame of a cot, and she did it really well, because he doesn't have anything to pick the lock with and he's positioned in a way that doesn't give him much leverage.

He opens his eyes, and feels the edge of panic, like something right outside his field of view. He's been helpless once or twice, and it never worked out all that well. Helpless and naked, not like he missed that particular detail. Can only promise to himself that if she fucks him up, he'll get her back.

[It's the same fight they've been having for too long now. Souji insisting he's not made of glass, Hijikata just trying to goddamn protect him, knowing the sickness is there, knowing it's going to take him away...]

[He ended up storming out this time, back into his private quarters, to console himself with smoke and work.]

"Hey, sleepy head," Nikita says casually like it's no big deal you're naked and chained to her bed. Totally common place.

"I saved your life," she says getting up from her computer and walking over. "Michael might be able to get away with disobeying Percy but he'll have you canceled." She sits down on one of the black weapons trunks a few feet away from the bed.

"Took out your tracker. Hope you don't mind."

Count that as something Clint hadn't been worrying about but probably should have. He's never disobeyed and not been able to salvage a mission before. Shifts uncomfortably under her eyes, stupidly grateful for the blanket, even though he knows it's not like his dignity was actually salvaged at all.

"Division doesn't have a better marksman than me." He's gotten away with stuff in the past. Never gotten canceled. "I wasn't actually planning to cut off most of my possible options, you know."

"Yeah, well, it's no use having a marksmen if he won't finish the mission. What? Do you think Percy will send his best marksmen out on those high risk missions if he thinks he'll not pull the trigger? You're a weapon and you jammed."

She pushes off from her seat and crosses her arms. "Michael might have convinced Percy to send you to Amanda and give you a second chance but after that... Well, we all know what Percy does with broken weapons."

"I don't throw away a gun when it jams," he protests. "Guns are shit for other reasons." He's a bow and arrow guy. No idea why they didn't want him at his best while going after her.

Shifts up, to try and track her. He won't like it if she goes out of his field of view.

"Say you saved my life," he says. "I also saved yours. So we're even, right?" So she should totally let him out.

"You're not Percy," she points out. She does wander back out of view. "We're not even. You may not have killed me but you might have it in your head that I would be more valuable served up to Percy on a silver platter."

A beat.

"Where were you before Division?"

[ Pepper would have rather stayed home, to be honest. She doesn't enjoy the social scene and being seen like Tony does, but at least the benefit tonight is for a good cause - so she'd done her hair, donned a fancy gown and worn her best heels. She's alone currently, having gotten to the part of the evening where some schmoozing was expected. She's already done her part; as always, Tony attracts more attention out of the two of them even when he doesn't mean to. Pepper doesn't mind waiting for him, though, knowing very well it's part of the whole thing. At least the martinis here are good. ]

[Crowley has been rather at loose ends since the Apocalypse-that-wasn't, and London had lost a bit of its charm. There's always something for an enterprising demon to do in the Big Apple, and with a moniker like that, how can he resist?

Tonight the order of business is sowing a bit of discord. So far he's managed to convince several bank executives to push for more foreclosures, gotten a Silicon Valley young turk to get himself into an ugly sexual harassment situation that's going to dog him and his company for years, and now?

Now he's set his sights on another pond whose ripples could affect hundreds, possibly even thousands. He already knows that his tuxedo is impeccable and his snakeskin shoes are just the perfect counterpoint. His smile gleams as he approaches the lovely redhead with two martinis in hand.]

You look like you could use a refresher.

"What does it matter to you?" he shoots back. She going to try and pull him apart? She wouldn't be the first one.
