Flynn Lives
Welcome Programs, to the Free Grid!

a Tron-verse meme
Thanks to Kevin Flynn's sacrifice, Sam Flynn's sentimentality, Quorra's memory, and programming help from a handful of others (the younger Flynn being determined not to make the same mistakes as the elder) The Grid has been rebuilt almost from the ground up, and repopulated with some programs he wrote himself, some that were written by Encom colleagues and others still by old CalTech friends (and friends of friends at other universities and think tanks and et cetera)
Some areas are still under construction, more sparsely populated than others, but the city center is thriving, there are The Games (now much less lethal) for the competitive-minded, the End Of Line Club for the partiers and The Archives for those who want to learn (or to impart knowledge) and various other venues (art galleries, shops of every stripe, vehicle mechanics and rentals, even casinos and smaller clubs.) Also the Park and it's resident swarm of Bits, they don't bite, but they might talk you to death.
The Train will get you basically anywhere you need to know, and runs all the time, no need to worry about it being out of service just because it's late. Light cycles are another popular mode of transportation, and the City isn't so big that it can't be walked.
Outside of the City is the Outlands all rugged terrain and cracked vistas. Beyond that is the Sea of Simulation which -now clean and virus-free once more- Sam hopes will begin to spawn ISOs as it once did. Beyond that is The Portal which is the way back to the real world, the realm of the Users.
Sometimes the Portal glitches, it's a known problem, nothing serious, really, just that it occasionally pulls in Programs from other versions of the Grid, other times in the Grid's history. It's a thing, and the unexpected new arrivals are generally found within short order and filled in on what's happening. System Monitors and a network of volunteers help with that.
Your character can be a native program, a transplant, even a visiting User, that's up to you. Tag around, get to know each other, have fun and try not to make the place too buggy, nobody wants to deal with that.

As for the club, rebuilt yet again in Tron City's tallest tower, there are a couple of differences from the bad old days. The servers all wear discs, for one. The crowd, for another, is a decided mix of Users, Basics, and ISOs, reveling in harmony. So dance, indulge, enjoy -- for tonight, Tron City is yours.]

She grinned at the question, "You know me, boss, always going to be five by five, and if I wasn't, you'd be the first to know." She did, however, appreciate the checking in, his check-ins were pretty much how she handled things with the rest of the servers, trusting them to be able to handle themselves, and trusting, likewise, that they'd let her know if there was a problem she hadn't noticed herself.

Thela was well aware that the DJs did their job well because they liked doing it, but they were friends of hers, and she was of the opinion that they deserved a break the same as anyone did, but there was no reason for the music to stop while they did.

CastorZuse we all know and tolerate to varying degrees, but with an ISO twist. A secret survivor of the Purge who reinvented himself using the guise of a Basic after the war ended, who eventually met his fate when the End of Line was wiped off the face of the Grid following a totally expected betrayal from Clu. These days he is a bit of a ghost while he bides his time, trying to think of how he wants to approach this third chance at life. Your best bet to find him is near the Park or near the vicinity of the End of Line or, on rare occasions, close to the Sea of Simulation. He is an ISO after all.]Beck | Tron Uprising | OTA

Re: Eckert | ElecTRONica | OTA
But tonight isn't about melancholy. He's there for the music and the mood, and a host of other M-words that his language centers can't help but supply. Maroon, that's a good one -- it's the colour of the contents of the glass in his hands. Experimental mix, Kato said, good for stabilising binary weave and upcycling processes.
Hah.
Britt's been on the end of Kato's admix experiments before. He's rather reluctant to try this one, no matter how well he trusts the Iso to whom he's code-bound. He twirls the glass between his fingers, an idle wariness in his frown as he watches the surface colours shift and shimmer with silver and iridescent green. Green like the faction-code wrapped around his core, bleeding around the edges of User's-faith-blue now that the moorings of that faith were cut adrift.
...Bits and blast it, he wasn't being melancholy.
