No, of course he didn't mean the first apology, and Odinson realizes it at once. (Not that he was expecting an apology to begin with.) But he's wearing Laufey's face, and even a short while in Laufey's shadow, a hostage prince at his mercy, must train habits into a man he'd rather not have. He sighs, expression relaxing into something neutral again, and shrugs one shoulder.

"Offense forgotten. It's easy for one of us to look at what the other has or had and envy. I could say much the same to you, but in the end we are both Loki, and that means we are destined to walk through darkness one way or another."

He's pretty sure she still hates him, but that's all right. He's perfectly within his rights to like people that hate him.
