Badd would probably be surprised to know how much Blake respects the Batman. How much he appreciates that someone is out there doing what cops like him can't do all while helping them to get "the bad guys" off the streets. If Badd was doing that as well... John wouldn't be as against it as he pretended to be when around others.

He's no fool; even with Gordon as Commissioner he had to be careful about voicing any opinion of the Bat that wasn't in line with the laws he was suppose to enforce. He had worked hard for his badge, he wasn't about to lose it over his own personal opinions.
