Mercy settled on the log next to the wolf. She could smell it on him. She settled the sodas on the ground next to them. "You're from Beacon Hills?" Mercy asked.
She was pretty sure she had him pegged to the right pack. Unfortunately, she didn't know the young Alpha that ran that pack. Her own pack was out doing... something. She wasn't sure what, except Adam had told her that a coyote would get in the way and she should try to stay out of trouble.
... She didn't remind him that wolves and vampires were usually the ones to drop trouble on her doorstep, but it'd been in her raised eyebrow at him.
