This is why I'm in favor of the airbag design. Inflate and deflate to lower the velocity of the back end- since it's within range of the target we can probably rig the back end of the arrow shaft to either collapse or pop off to avoid face-kebabs. It'll need to be rigid to hold trajectory up to a point but- hmm.
