Every writer understands the need to be a little more than literal from time to time. No one begrudges a metaphor or a poetic turn of phrase now and then. But when you just can't speak straight we call it:

PURPLE PROSE

Rules:

1) Post your character's name, canon and any preferences.
2) Pick, RNG or come up with your own scenario, either in your post or in reply to someone else.
3) You may only write in the most ridiculously over the top prose imaginable. Uses synonyms for simple terms, complicated metaphor for mundane ideas and uses ten words where one will do. Make good use of the thesaurus now! If your replies are under a paragraph long, you're doing it wrong. (Note that you still have to remain IC and dialogue will be unaffected.)

3) Watching a movie on TV.
4) Walking in the park.
5) Just the average shopping trip.

9) You've found someone's wallet.
10) Shoe lace is untied.

Exciting
1) High speed car chase.
2) It's time for the final battle in your rivalry.
3) You're trapped in a burning building.
4) You're robbing someone's house, but they've just got home.
5) You've just discovered someone standing over the body of your loved one, holding the weapon.
6) Alien invasion!
7) Confronting a suspected traitor to your organization.
8) Piloting giant robots in a battle to protect down town Tokyo.
9) After all these years of searching, you've just found your long lost sibling. Are they the one that killed your parents?
10) A war between two nations, with you on the front lines.

Sexual
1) For one of you, this is the first time.
2) Your worst enemy and you have somehow ended up in bed.
3) A meaningless encounter in an attempt to relieve some tension and chase away bad memories.
4) After a long time apart, two lovers reunite.
5) At least one of you is being unfaithful.
6) One of you is a spy/assassin sent to get close to the other.
7) The wedding night.
8) This time one of you wants to try something daring and the other needs convincing.
9) After all these years of searching, you've just found your long lost sibling. And they're your lover. Ooops.
10) That person is the most attractive person you've ever seen. Don't take no for an answer.

Horror
1) How long will your barricades keep back the cliché zombie hoards?
2) The woods at night is no place to be on a full moon.
3) A demonic cult aims to summon their dark god. Can you stop them in time? Are you the sacrifice needed?
4) Just in on the radio: An insane killer is on the loose.
5) With your transport broken down, you have no choice but to visit the sinister castle.
6) The call came from inside the house!
7) Spending the night in a so called haunted mansion to win a million dollars.
8) A mad scientist's creation has escaped. Is it a monster or just misunderstood.
9) Abducted by creatures beyond the stars, what do they intend to do?
10) Trapped in a Saw style death trap, someone is playing the game and the other is pulling the strings.
