There’s nothing like watching a movie, is there? It’s a chance to relax and have fun for a few hours. Whether it’s a romantic date with dinner and a movie or an outdoor film festival, it doesn’t matter.

That’s up to you.

So pick your genre, pick your location, and pick your season. Above all else?

[Never one to miss out on an opportunity to hang chaperone his ever-present partner in the airwaves, Eugene's got himself settled and comfortable on the side opposite Jack on the projector. He knew, not from experience, but by intuition, that his friend here was more than likely to try and do shadow puppets sooner or later.

Though looking at him as they watched Spirited Away he was surprised to find him entirely engrossed in the movie. Leaning over, he pinched his side, not taking his eyes off the screen. His tone was light, quiet enough to be drowned under the sound of the movie.]

Guess what they were watching CATS. The Major in particular was watching events unfold with a sort of horrified fascination; she found herself unable to look away as actors, heavily made up to give them the striking appearance of a bunch of people who did not actually look much like cats at all but were trying really hard because someone was paying them, pranced around and sang.

"This is legitimately terrible," she said. "Glad I never had to live in the 20th century."

"It's a classic," said Meister, though his dulled tone indicated he shared her opinion. "I'm mostly interested in the choreography." It was bearable enough to watch but hardly one his favorites. "If you like I can put something with a little more plot and violence on."

Netflix, why have you led him so astray.

The drink in her hand was cold and sweet, or at least her cyberbrain interpreted it as such. Kusanagi took another brief sip of it, then dug her fingers into the tub of buttery popcorn, which had only been under the heat lamp for an hour as she estimated it.

It was not as good as the drink.

She wasn't crazy about movies, but hell, she had a couple of hours to kill, and it wasn't good weather outside for diving.

"I don't know," Kusanagi said, just a hint of amusement audible in her voice. "If you think about it, the cat suits might actually be astute social commentary."

She paused. "Yeah, actually, a change would be nice. What do you have in mind?"

"It's based on a collection of cat-related poetry, it's really not." Meister fished through his DVD case. He made a practice of buying hard copies of what pleased him, it wasn't as if money was any trouble.

"How about this?" He held up a case displaying a man with a shotgun and a woman clinging to him. "It's got explosions. And Steinman.

She raised an eyebrow, reached for the case. "It certainly looks fanciful enough. Sure. Who's Steinman?"

A quick glance at the stylized artwork on the front suggested to her that the film was about riots or gang warfare. Probably the girlfriend died or was kidnapped, judging from her state of dress.

"Jim Steinman. A fairly talented rock and roll musician. He provided part of the soundtrack, including the songs sung by the main character's love interest." It seemed a fair compromise between music and action. Music Meister slipped it into the player and sat back on the couch.
