His words sting her a bit, but she swallows it down. She knows he's hurting, too, it's why he lashes out like this. He's had to deal with the consequences of his ability his entire life.

"You're not a freak, Dennis." she says softly. "You have a gift. One that comes with a not-so-great price, but it's a gift." And she honestly believes that, no matter what he thinks. And she's said that already, so he knows how she feels about it.
